    E:On for Gas:

    Next Flex

    7.48 p/kWh 27.22 p/day

I can change tariffs without penalty but I think this is the cheapest around.

    Bulb for electricity (at present):

    Varifair

    Daily Charge 22.95p kW/h

    Energy Rate 19.68p kW/h

Depending how far you are prepared to gamble on the current predictions it is not unreasonable in the longer run and might be cheaper starting in January. you need to do your calculations how much energy you use in each quarter to see how much you will save/lose for that quarter and what the overall is.

EDF have offered and I've just accepted for now but feeling really ripped off!

Looking at what others have been offered by their companies and disgruntled at not being allowed to switch!! why is that?? I feel like it just adds to the lack of market forces competition to help keep the prices down!

    Electricity
    Original Tariff:
    28.29p unit standing charge 48.15p
    offered: 56.82p same standing charge

    Gas
    Original tariff
    7.44p  standing charge 27.22
    offered Tariff
    17.44p standing charge the same

    Annual Usage:
    Elec 6219KWh Gas 26,079KWh

Feeling sick at my estimated £698 pm DD!!!
It's going to be a long cold winter!! Glad I can knit! Jumpers all round!!!

That is a very high annual gas consumption!! More than twice the average - might be worth looking into getting that down a bit?
    might have more rooms.
my elec 15,000 and gas 46,000 annual.
    fixed in feb @ elec : 0.33/kwh ... gas:0.09/kwh
Good rates but what are you doing to reduce your usage £9360 a year is quite the bill.
not much, its a new build with a B rating for energy. it holds heat very well, very thick insulated external walls. but uses alot of gas to keep it warm. without the 2 year fix, bills would be excess of 12k per annum.

That are SVT tariffs and will go up to the unit rates I posted above.

Also your Bulb Varifair unit rates must be old. That are rates before the April cap, most likely before the October 2021 cap. Todays standing charges will be between 33p and 48p and the unit rates 28p or more.

Gas looks very good after the newest predictions and electricity will start to look good in January.

    BG's offered me a 12 month fix:

Gas - 24.48p standing charge, 16.195p per kWh
Elec - 23.852p standing charge, 58.796p per kWh

Exit fee £100 per fuel to go to another supplier, free to switch to another BG tariff.

Standing charges are lower than the SVT, especially for electricity, but unit rates are higher. I am now happy about my decision to buy a very small one bed flat, it tends to be quite cold in there, but still cheaper to heat than something bigger.
