i have not chosen yet ,i am away on holiday till mid next week , both similar prices but
    ..
it i leave it to long the fixes will both be withdrawn

It is very nearly two months since you were given those prices.
I have a strong suspicion that you have missed them both already.

I have signed up with EDF on a 2 year deal for Gas and Electric as per these prices below
I have to swap from my Std meter to Smart meters which are been fitted on the 18th August , I now wait for the announcement on the 26th August for the new price caps for Oct onwards to see if I have done right or wrong ,, only time will tell
  • Wondered if anyone could tell me whether this is a good deal 🙄 I was purely reading the email from British Gas offering a fixed price and as I scrolled as I was reading, my thumb hit the “sign up now” which was a one click link and it seems I’ve signed up 🤦🏻‍♀️ (Ggrrrr!)

We only have electric, heating is off oil. I won’t pay by direct debit after years of them over charging me as they had the meter number wrong on their records.

We are two adults and a teenager in a 3 bed semi 🤔

Apparently I can cancel by filling out a form and returning it in the cooling off period.

doen't strike me as a good deal for a 1 year fix atm but who knows what it may be like in 6 or 9 months time?
I passed up fixes earlier in the year at rates that were higher than what the SVT rates for October were expected to be at that time but which you would now jump on in a heartbeat.

I have a feeling this isn't a good fix offer but would appreciate confirmation either way!

    ~3000kwh per year
    70% day
    30% night

My gut is to come off Economy 7 (no storage heaters anymore) and go onto SVT.

    Current:
British Gas Evolve Exclusive Fixed Energy v3 (ends 2nd September)
    Day: 19.95p per kwh
    Night: 10.36p per kwh
    S/C: 20.58p per day

    Offered:
British Gas Exclusive Fixed Energy v20 e7
    Day: 61.45p per kwh
    Night: 30.93p per kwh
    S/C: 31.77p per day

    or

British Gas Exclusive Fixed Energy v20
    Per Unit: 50.45p per kwh
    S/C: 31.69p per day

    or

    British Gas SVT
Per Unit: 27.865p per kWh (so around 46p come October)
    S/C 48.127p per day

Any reason why you don't appear to be considering switching away fron BG, EOF & co depending on what the search engines come up with, or am I missing a trick?

Most of the questions posed here require a crystal ball to answer. Sadly, nobody has one.

EDF have offered and I've just accepted for now but feeling really ripped off!

Looking at what others have been offered by their companies and disgruntled at not being allowed to switch!! why is that?? I feel like it just adds to the lack of market forces competition to help keep the prices down!

    Electricity
    Original Tariff:
    28.29p unit standing charge 48.15p
    offered: 56.82p same standing charge

    Gas
    Original tariff
    7.44p  standing charge 27.22
    offered Tariff
    17.44p standing charge the same

    Annual Usage:
    Elec 6219KWh Gas 26,079KWh

Feeling sick at my estimated £698 pm DD!!!
It's going to be a long cold winter!! Glad I can knit! Jumpers all round!!!

That is a very high annual gas consumption!! More than twice the average - might be worth looking into getting that down a bit?
    might have more rooms.
my elec 15,000 and gas 46,000 annual.
    fixed in feb @ elec : 0.33/kwh ... gas:0.09/kwh

Good rates but what are you doing to reduce your usage £9360 a year is quite the bill.
