My new property is with EDF currently so on SVT until GE take over.
Just hope by mid or end 2023 other companies open to new customers so I can switch back to get good fixed if prices come down by then.0 -

With GEUK i am being offered:
Electricity: 48.12p SC and 38.20p per kwh @ 1976 units = £930.46 yearly. / Gas: 31.31p SC and 11.75p per kwh @ 8000 units annual = £1054.25. Making it £165.40 per month.
I decided to just check my British Gas account and today I am being offered: Fixed Oct 23v1:
Electricity: 47.247p SC and 51.591p per kwh @ 1976 units = £1,191.89 yearly. / Gas: 29.292p SC and 15.593p per kwh @ 8000 units annual = £1,353.91. Making it £212.15per month.
So ensuring my maths is right its a no brainer to try GEUK right?
Gas: SC 24.480p/day 15.115/kwh
Electric: SC 37.901/day 49.868/kwh

Can't believe the evolution of prices, my recent bill showed:
Gas:
Jan: SC 13.854 / 2.405/kwh
March: SC 24.879 / 3.79/kwh - this was when my fix ended
June: SC 25.923 / 6.93/kwh - so at this point the SC had nearly doubled and the unit cost nearly tripled
Now to fix: SC 24.480/day 15.115/kwh - so double the current rate per unit
Electricity:
Jan: SC 16.719 / 14.022/kwh
March: SC 22.638 / 19.349/kwh - this was when my fix ended
June: SC 42.619 / 26.311/kwh - so at this point the SC had nearly doubled as had unit charge
Now to fix: SC 37.901 /day 49.868/kwh - so nearly doubling the unit price again.

Current fixed £92/Month - ends end of July
I switched to a new fixed one (£227/month) beginning of July but it wasn't supposed to move over to this until end of July when this contract ended (was my understanding)
Long story short they switched me straight away. I rung them and said I should be on old tariff for the remainder of July, At which point he said I will switch you back then until end of July. I questioned 3 times I can still go to this new fixed deal at end of July he said yes.
Having phoned today I am now told this tariff isn't available now. I said but I confirmed I wanted it at beginning of July, I just didn't want to switch and pay extra for a whole of the month.
So now the best they can offer is £297 a month 3 times more than currently paying
Is this worth fixing for a year does anyone know? Here's how the £3513 a year breaks down unit costsUnit gas 15.1p/kwh
Unit elect 51p/kwh
Standing 51p& 24p
I am so confused by all of this
Thanks in advance
Do you have any proof that they have given you wrong information, for example what did the confirmation of the tariff change say when the tariff will start?
I'm just gutted that for the sake of not paying about £60 more for 1 month, I am now faced with nearly £200 more a month than current rate.

I thought the rates were the rates for that plan. The only way I thought it could vary was in what you actually used
Does anyone know what the max cap is that it can rise to?I'm wondering whether at the rates for this fixed one I am better doing nothing and going to standard variable tarrif but obviously a gamble. Currently these rates for variable one:
Gas: £972.06 Standing charge:
27.220p per dayUnit rate:
7.344p per kWhElectricity: £1040.71 Standing charge:
37.918p per dayUnit rate:

There is no cap to how much suppliers can charge on fixed tariffs, the customers choose whether to accept those rates or not. (Outfox The Market have been offering fixes at over 60p/kWh for electricity!) The cap only applies to the standard variable tariff, which is the default tariff, e.g at the end of fixes, moving into a new property, etc.0 -

Founded 2001, not like our recent bust supplier Symbio founded 2019 and all the others with very little history that failed.
If we go all doom and gloom if they last til the end of November most people would break even. If they last longer it's a win. (Extreme scenario just to make a point)

I'm looking at fixing with Green Energy UK. Its quoting £170 a month, much cheaper than what we've been offered by British Gas, but when I go through to sign up it says they operate Variable Direct Debits. When you sign up is there an option to change this? I'd rather spread it equally through the year than be out of pocket in winter.0
