This is a fixed rate not bound by price caps but does come under the expected rise in October and Jan 2023.To rejoin a price capped product in the future you will have to switch to another provider at the end of your fixed rate as Green Energy are not bound by price caps and do not have to offer a product of this nature. If you are happy with a switch and fix then a switch at the end should they not offer you a competitive one at the end of your fixed rate this could be for you.1 -
Can someone tell me, if you fix on a certain tariff, is everything fixed? i.e The unit price and the Standard charge for the length of the contract?
With GEUK i am being offered:
Electricity: 48.12p SC and 38.20p per kwh @ 1976 units = £930.46 yearly. / Gas: 31.31p SC and 11.75p per kwh @ 8000 units annual = £1054.25. Making it £165.40 per month.
I decided to just check my British Gas account and today I am being offered: Fixed Oct 23v1:
Electricity: 47.247p SC and 51.591p per kwh @ 1976 units = £1,191.89 yearly. / Gas: 29.292p SC and 15.593p per kwh @ 8000 units annual = £1,353.91. Making it £212.15per month.
So ensuring my maths is right its a no brainer to try GEUK right?

i always think the energy companies will probably know more than us but this seems like a good deal until at least April next year. Any thoughts?0 -

Looking at the Gas futures today (up 55% to highest price since March), and the news the Russia is planning to cut off supplies to the EU over winter, I would suggest the January price cap isn't going to be good news.If you are going to fix, do it now!You can bet the energy companies will be getting twitchy about the prices ahead.0

There must be a fair chance that the government will tinker with the so-called price cap mechanism and impose a lower cap than would normally apply - with subsidies to cover it. That's one of the risks with a high-priced fixed contract.0
