There's potential for confusion with Eon Next's tariffs as there is the Next Online series offering reasonable deals (given the present circumstances) for existing customers - currently as I write this at v17, and the Next 1 Year currently at v15. As has been said, the latter is an expensive tariff, presumably the one they'll quote for non-customers who they don't really want. It was less than two weeks ago that the Next Online series was on v15 which was seen as a good deal, and in fact I signed up to that one myself and I'm glad I did. Don't get the two different series confused!1

SteveCooper said:I have been offered 2 electricity fixed tariffs from my existing supplier who is EDF and from Octopus who are my current Gas supplier and are wanting me to go duel fuelEDF - 2 year fixed price - £150 exit fee
40.79 p KWh
48.53 p Daily Standing charge
Octopus - 1 year fixed price - £ nil exit fee
40.79 p KWh
48.26 p Daily stsnding charge
Not much in the price structure just 1 year or 2 is the longer term price going to rocket further or the opposite its going to start falling ?
Both of those come under the predicted price of electricity come October then the subsequent rise again in Jan 2023.
However no one has come to the forum with a fixed deal for electricity at that price for a long time from Octopus. Are you sure it's not more like 60p.0 -

I am SO confused on all this. I am an EON Next customer - electricity only. SW Wales. My current fix comes to an end 31 August.EON Next are offering me:a. NextFlex - their SVT where the current kWh unit price is 28.29pb. Next Online V17 fixed to Sept 2023 where the kWh unit price will be 51.16pc. Next 1 Year V15 fixed to Sept 2023 where the kWh unit price will be a whopping 65.00p (why would anyone choose that?)I know the SVT will rise in October and again in January and I understand (I think) that the prediction is a total rise of c.70%So at 70% increase, 28.29p now, becomes 48.09p per kWh by January 2023Therefore the V17 fix at 51.16p per kWh seems too expensive to be worth itAm I understanding and calculating correctly please? Or am I missing something fundamental?Thank you.

However.......a month or two ago 35p/kwh looked like an expensive fix but has turned out not to be.
It's really difficult at the moment as fixes don't seem to be available for long before they are pulled and it seems they are only being replaced by more expensive versions.0 -
My EDF fixed deal (Economy 7 electricity only, £270/month - yes its a lot. 70s electric Underfloor heating and the northern Scotland.) comes to an end in August and they are suggesting the variable rate @ £334 /month or a fixed rate @ £439/month.ive been told the components of the tariff ( standing charge/day , Night rate, Daytime rate) vary from provider to provider . but the alternative providers ive questioned1. don't disclose their ratesand2. Don't take on new customers.I've got detailed usage information and would like to shop around to see what combination of rates gives me the best variable-rate deal .But is seems that i cant.is this just me or common for everyone coming to the end of a fixed rate and moving to variable ?0

Best switch and fix rates on the market currently with no exit fees.Read the terms and conditions make.sure it's right for you. This is a fixed rate not bound by price caps but does come under the expected rise in October. To rejoin a price capped product in the future you wil have to switch to another provider at the end of your fixed rate as Green Energy are not bound by price caps and do not have to offer a product of this nature. If you are happy with a switch and fix then a switch at the end should they not offer you a competitive one at the end of your fixed rate this could be for you.0 -
