Is that EDF you can change bill frequency? I'd love a quarterly bill, can that be done online or need to call?folacks said:
You can change the bill frequency. I didn't realise this until last week.SteveCooper said:Hi M
I am away on holiday until next week , i must decide by then , my feelings are
EDF - ( For) Good price , 2 Year fix , existing supplier , well in credit
EDF - (Against ) £150 withdrawal fee , only 2 bills per year , Smart meter install required
Octopus - ( For ) Good Price ,Monthly Bill , stick with old meter , no withdrawal fee
Octopus - ( Against) only 1 year fix
decisions , decisions
Edit - don't love any bills but you know what I mean! The important things in life are not things ........0 -
As far as I understand it if you pay by monthly direct debit, with even payments through the year, then EDF is billed every 6 months and it cannot be changed.funny.money said:

The only thing you can do is to change to variable direct debit, or whole amount direct debit as EDF calls it. This will generate a monthly bill.
Problem is that you will have low bills in summer and very high bills in winter, so you need to budget yourself, instead of EDF doing it for you.1 -
Yes you can change to getting billed monthly, quarterly, twice a year or once a year. All the above by direct debit. And as mentioned you can have a set DB amount or varied amount based on what you use. I've just changed from once a year bill in April to monthly bills for the whole amount monthly. Also went from a variable tariff to the fixed.funny.money said:

However hard I try I just cannot get enthusiastic about agreeing to a fixed D/D based on what someone else / the system forecasts will be my consumption over the coming 12 months. The temptation to "build in a little in reserve" is just too great.Telegraph Sam

Current octopus loyal rates for me.
Does anyone know what the actual unit rates are likely to be come October? To me these are a lot more than 65%. Gas is up over 100%0 -
65% is the average increase.
You need to look at standing charges with most likely no increase, the increase for gas and the increase for electricity separately.
As you already found the increase for gas will be more than 90%0 -
I assume for most of the figures you mean p and not £.dillydream said:These are our prices, are these reasonable costs?

The unit rates for April are almost for sure wrong, this seems to be the figures for the old SVT until March.
EON Next V16 is expensive for electricity, but looks good for gas.
We need your usage over a 12 month period to look into it in more detail.0
