The extra cost for travel at the moment is horrendous isn't it - and just when you really don't want it hitting your revised budget, of course!

The gardens were lovely , definitely worth a visit.First week of two days done , it was all a bit strange having to finish everything in the time but it felt ok. Have decided Monday in work and Tuesday at home . Later in the year around October will leave about 2 on Mondays and log on at home .Get paid on Friday , my payslip is online , this one has a bit more in it that I am expecting . Next month will be a true reflection. .Have sorted out the finances now , CC reconciled and paid. This month I don't need to supplement my salary with any of the savings I have , that will probably start next month. These savings are extra to my long term ones that I really don't want to touch. We have a busy few weeks with family events , my parents Diamond wedding soon kicks it off .Today is parents day , so need to get ready to take dad shopping and am sure changing curtains was mentioned .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.2

Congratulations on going down to part time. It is a good ease in to retirement. I dropped my hours to part time when my husband retired about 2 years before I finished work altogether. Even though we have fuel increases to contend with I use public transport wherever I can which is cheaper but does usually take longer. If you are 60 you can get a senior railcard which drops the prices by a third and in Devon and Cornwall where I live they do a £5 day rider on buses so you can go anywhere and on as many buses as you like to get to places. I find it cheaper than using the car and more pleasant. I expect other areas are similar.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Gosh what a hot one today has been running around looking after a 17 month old. He has been a delight and enjoyed playing with water in my parents garden. I am very lucky that he is easy to look after at the moment. Picked the other two up from school and they were very good as well Mum came a bit earlier which is always good. One tired grandma but so happy to help out. A NSD as well to add.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.2 -
