As I said in my previous diary I would start a new one as in six weeks I cut my working hours in half to 18 hours , working two days a week. I have chosen to start this part time working on half my salary before one of my pensions kicks in , in December .
Therefore I am going to have to be very frugal for six months , I will have to use some savings probably to top up my salary but not sure by how much yet , owing to a pay rise at work and the NI implications now and in July.
I will have been debt free for a year on the 26th April and still remain that way and have been saving for the last few months for every eventuality which is good, well at least I am optimistic I can survive even in the current climate .
On Sunday I am off on holiday to Spain, holiday booked 2020 and I am looking forward to it, no forms to fill in not like last September when I was having nightmares with forms for 7 of us. This time it's just myself and my oldest friend looking forward to sun, sangria and down time.
That's it for now .

The reason behind me going part time is that I still have my two parents alive . They are very self sufficient but are starting to need help with a few things . I also have 3 gorgeous grandchildren who I love spending time with .I am looking for an online budgeting tool not YNAB if anybody can suggest one that's easy to use.?Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.4

Hello Sunshine_girl, I'm also considering a change in work, although I'm a bit scared to make the final jump at the moment.

Back from a great break in Spain, seeing the sun was wonderful. My works HR have confirmed my part time contract starting 6th June , is all very real now and a little bit scary .Last full months salary on the 18th May , then June will be a mixture , July will be my first part time wage . I get one of my workplace pensions in December , between June and December will need to be super tight with money .None of this would have been possible without getting debt free to which I am so glad I achieved .Best get back to work.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.2

It's great that you get a gradual change to the money over several months though - that ought to make it feel a bit less of a shock to the system anyway!
