  • I am feeling slightly more human today and have just got a snotty noise . I think my DGD give me all their germs .
Christmas was really nice this year , the family together on Christmas Day and Boxing Day . Meeting up with friends and then two days of childcare . This week I have work on Tuesday and then three days childcare , which will be tiring.

Six years ago today I landed on these diaries with about £10,000 of debt and today I have savings and no debt , eternally grateful to have paid it off .

This month I will be able to do an SOA on my new budget which is part time salary and two pensions .
I have put my pension lump sum into premium bonds , fixed rate savings for a year, easy access account and a monthly saver.
Even though I have a good amount of savings behind me now I still want to carry on saving long term . I am going to tweak my savings pots adding a couple of new ones in.
I have had a spend as I said and updated my phone, iPad and watch, this all came out of birthday money.
My hoover gave up last week, have ordered a shark one in the sale . New ghds have also been purchased with Christmas money .

I have some plans for short breaks this year and am hoping to travel to Australia again early next year . All these depend on keeping an eye on spending and how much cost of living goes up.

My energy provider still haven't solved the issue of my smart meter yet, but have kept me up to date .

I have plans to do a couple of diy jobs early spring as well. Plus decluttering has already started.

Last year was a very busy one with celebrations, am glad we haven't got any big ones for a while apart from my nieces wedding in March.

Glad you're feeling a little better - that sounds like a right flurry of activity though - don't wear yourself out!

You'll love your new vacuum - our "Jaws" is fabulous, I almost (only almost!) enjoy doing the floors now! (Also love that the hard floor setting picks up dust wonderfully so meaning the mop needs to come out less!)

Ooh maybe Ibiza my favourite place on earth 🤔 Canaries are fantastic in April,  Balearics might be a tad hit and miss.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • If you have any suggestions for Ibiza PM me, always up for recommendations.

  • Can I ask what your pension income is looking like? What are your savings goals? Just curious. Always interesting to know what people are aiming to live on. You may find this thread useful. It’s been going a couple of years and has been useful to many of us. Best wishes.

  • Busy day with parents , lots of admin to be done , my DS helped out . My dad has my old iPhone now as well , don't know how long he will last with it, we set it up for him.
I came home feeling drained .
Quiet afternoon watching a film whilst ironing .
