Cant' believe I missed this one! Was just talking to my Mum today about wanting a panasonic bread maker as I have one that belonged to her, was ok, but not brilliant, can't even remember make.
Am keeping an eye on it incase it goes down again though.
  • Just an update on my breadmaking... Woke up at 6.30am with the aroma of fresh bread. However, there was an overpowering of yeast smell even though I did follow the recepie in the manual. Has anyone had this problem.

Besides that , it was nice and fresh. My eldest son, who usually hates the crust from the bread actually loves the crust from this one.

Has anyone bought any of those breadmaking machine receipe books and can they recommend one. I still feel that the receipe provide with the machines can be improved on.

p.s I started with the basic white loaf.
  • Hi

I've never had that problem and to be honest always found the recipes in the book reliable. Although I use it as a guide now and do alter the recipes to suit me now.

How well risen was it ? I'm just wondering if you put too much yeast in or used the wrong type of yeast ? I've bought the wrong type several times by mistake but never actually used it.

Sorry can't be much more help

The book says to use yeast marked Easy-blend, Fast action or Easy bake.
I too have bought the wrong type sometimes-think that will explain the yeasty smell-

Just for info, if your bread is too yeasty it can make you a bit windy, if you get my meaning. The yeast seems to have an effect on the stomach gases.:D

  • Been reading this post and would like to buy one. Can anyone tell me are all Panasonic breadmakers good, or is it just some models? Thanks in advance..
