  • Mine came yesterday evening and has a white loaf in it now - house starting to smell lovely and my tummy is rumbling and mouth is watering! Can't wait to taste!

So is it worth the wait? Does it taste as good as it smells? Do tell, as mine is ready in an hour.
  • It is divine! DD finished school early today for hols and as we walked back in the house it was just ready. She loved the smell and was bursting to eat a slice (she's only 5!). Had to make her wait until it cooled, but it was worth the wait. I had a cheap Prima breadmaker before and the bread just didn't taste great and then the non-stick lining on the bread pan wore off. This bread is a 1000 times better. Am so pleased with this purchase. I have already been sitting down with a bread recipe book and scouring the old-style threads on MSE to find different things to try! Hope yours all taste as good.
  • If you think white bread is good, wait until you stick some raisins and mixed spice in the mix.

I have to say I cant see what all the fuss is about, its become a bit of a joke in our house that we refer to expensive electrical kitchen items that take up a lot of space and get hardly any use as "breadmakers"

    Eg.
    Q. "Shall we get one of those new one-cup hot water things?"
    A. "No, it'll only end up as another breadmaker"

We got one a couple of years ago and found it really noisy, the fact that it had a timer on it so you could set it to make bread through the night was a joke as the noise would wake everyone up, the bread starts going stale as soon as its cold and generally a lot more bother than it was worth (to us anyway) I ended up throwing it out after getting fed up with it being in the way.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
