well if you like naans this is the mix and add in this order:

    - for bread
use the asterix marked ingredients -

    1 tsp yeast * - (2 optional)
400g strong white bread flour *
    1 tsp sugar *
    1tsp salt *
    1tsp baking powder
    2 tbsp yoghurt
2 tbsp milk * (- optional for bread)
    2 tbsp oil
200 ml water - (for bread use approx. 250 ml water * )

    - optional 1 egg.

put it on basic + dough for naans . can use pizza setting but id recommend 2 tsp of yeast in that case but its not essential.

roll out and cook in heavy frying pan or similar until underside is cooked (lightly brown repeat for other side - or cook on gas mark 7 in over on a pizza tray of similar..

Any got a recipe for white bread using fresh yeast, Or do you just mix the yeast with the water?
  • Umm, sorry, I know that I am asking a really obvious question, but can someone kindly tell me what ingrediants I will need to make a white loaf.

I would like to buy the ingrediants tonight so that I can start baking as soon as the bread maker arrives, and if I'm honest, I'm not really sure what ingrediants I need.

Any help would be gladly appreciated, from a complete newbie to breadmakers xx

Mine arrived today too and i'm looking forward to trying it out. One thing i've noticed is that the book says to add the yeast, flour etc and then finally the water.

This is the opposite way around to my other breadmaker which worked well as the dry ingredients would float on top of the water so staying dry until the timer started it doing its thing.

Does anyone here put the water in first or do you all follow the instruction book?

I followed the instruction book the wholemeal loaf turned out reaaly well ( I never had any good results in my old breadmaker with wholemeal) The white loaf was brilliant better than anything I have ever bought from the shop. I too woyuld like to know how to deal with fresh yeast as there is a recipe in the book that has it in, but it does not say how to use it.

When i was younger the way to add fresh yeast to making bread was using luke warm water and mixing the yeast in. (there was a proper way with using the temp of the flour with the temp of water etc but 1/3 hot 2/3 cold is fine)

Just wanna know if this is ok for the bread maker
