Good that your dad is gaining weight @bubbs

That symbol is a wheat ear @beanielou 🤣

Meant to say @joedenise the chicken biryani DH made last week was from the comfort zone sw book. No phaffing, one pot and delicious. Just looked at the magazine this month and saw coffee coated steaks - gross! 🤢

We’ve just been to see Top Gun Maverick - soooooo goooooood ❤️

Glad you enjoyed your film @Coxy11

I know the FB page isn't official @bubbs but I 'm amazed that your consultant doesn't comment on the meals with minimal Speed. Do you post your brilliant meals? 🤔

    Morning everyone,

TGIF! Boss is out today (other boss on holiday) so I'll be on standby mode for anything that comes in. Must log on early though as boss is travelling and will want to speak before she gets on the 08:59 train.

Hiring manager for the (does it or does it not require a degree) role has come back with a short and sweet response. Not necessary if you can prove experience in the MH field. Not sure how I do that when I don't work in that area, apart from telling them about my nephew and how his death shattered our family :(

Sorry to bang on but that film was amazing last night. I was a huge TC fan when he first hit our screens, went off him a bit, but he's so good in this film and lots of throwbacks to the original. Go see it!!

    Food today:
    B - 1 slice WM toast, poached egg, spinach, mushrooms - 1/2 HEB, P, S
L - 3 rye cakes, cottage cheese with pineapple, salad leaves (homegrown!!), toms, pickles - 1/2 HEB, 1, S
D - SW chicken tikka masala (from 50 golden greats book), rice
    HEA - milk
    HEA - mini babybel
Syns - hi fi bar 3 plus 1 for cottage cheese. Might have a rum n coke later, so 7 total

    Have a good everyone,
    Coxy

Morning all, a beautiful day today with brilliant sunshine and very few clouds.  Looks a little bit breezy but not sure how cold that breeze is as haven't been outside yet!  No washing today as I got up to date yesterday.

Glad you've spoken to the Hiring Manager about whether a degree is necessary.  I think your experience in your personal life is just as relevant as your working life so go for that job.  If you don't apply you'll never know if you could have got it.  I know when I went for a promotion I used quite a lot of personal life stuff as the job I was doing was very mundane with very little relevance to what I was applying for.  It was my first job back after 14 years as a SAHM and I was applying for promotion after just over a year (I got the job!).

Hoping we can pick the motorhome up today so just waiting for a call later to let us know it's ready 🤞.  I'd really like to get it all sorted out over the weekend so it's not a rush at the last minute!  DH also needs to hopefully pick up his car today which went into the garage yesterday.  So it could be a busy day with lots of running about.  Good job we've got a second car (although to be honest we were managing OK with just the one!) but DH wanted a bigger one that my little Yaris!

    Today's plan:

    B - mixed frozen fruit, yoghurt - S; F
    L - pulled pork in WM roll, salad - HEB; P; S
    D - toad in the hole; mash, veg - S; F; 6.5

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - WM roll
    Syns - flour 4.5; LF sausages 2

    Have a good day everyone.

Thanks @joedenise will have another look at the job spec and see if I can make an application. Think the deadline is 3 June.

Change of plan for breakfast and lunch. DH was making noises about eating lunch out at a cafe he goes to once a week with his pals. It's a lovely sunny day here and as my workload is light today I decided to join him.

Had melon, pineapple, blueberries and strawbs for breakfast. Lunch was poached eggs, spinach and grilled tomato on a white English muffin. I asked for no hollandaise sauce. There were also 2 hash browns which I donated to DH's plate. Syns for the muffin are 8.5 which is a bit ouch! Was honestly the best of a bad menu but it was lovely to be out of the house.

My HEB will now be my hifi bar. Doubt I will have a rum n cola later - might save those syns for tomorrow night after WI.

You did the best you could from the menu.  You can do no more than that.  You can't really carry the syns forward to tomorrow as that's when your new week starts!  so you might as well have your rum & cola tonight as you'll still be within syns.

That's good news about that job @Coxy11. I'm sure you can make a case for why you should be considered with your experience from your family but also the desperate need for people to work in the MH field as a result of Covid and the cost of living crisis.

I've often posted about how hard it is to eat out healthily. Yesterday it was discussed at ,my group because someone said they'd been faced with a menu where there was nothing SW friendly. One positive about the need for some places to print calories on menus is that you can choose the lower ones. I'd like to think that it might encourage some places to introduce some lower calorie/healthy options onto their menus and cut back on too much oil and other synful ingredients.

I went to the Company Shop today @bubbs before doing my weekly shop. I got a few packs of boneless chicken thighs for me and, although they didn't have beetroot, they had large jars of Tesco pickled red cabbage (which I love) for 50p. I also got really good value Heinz soup and Big Soup for the foodbank.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, kippers (P), HEA1 milk for drinks
    L- JP (F), cottage cheese, ham (P), salad (S)
D- Fake KFC (P), SW chips (F), carrot chips, green stuff, tomatoes, garlic mushrooms (S, HEA2)
    Syns- kippers 1.5, weekend wine😊

They were £2.50 for a 600g pack @bubbs which was way cheaper than the full price in Tesco (they were Tesco brand) and cheaper than Aldi. Ironically, the thighs with skin and bone were exactly the same price. 🤔

I thought you meant your own group's Facebook page. Surely that's not an official SW one.

    🤞for tomorrow. 😊
  • It's been a bit of an odd week since my last WI on Monday. No WI this coming Monday as we are off to see Rocky Horror! Cannot wait!

So, Tuesday had the little voice in my head keep tells me I was hungry, I could have a treat as I didn't have to weigh for two weeks!! Managed to fight that demon off (I think)

Was away Wednesday night, ate at Nando's was 5 syns, followed by two Jack Daniels and lemonades, with soup earlier in the day I ended up with 18syns that day and the most id had since I started my SW journey.

No work next week,  unfortunately not all fun and games 2 funerals and the dentist! Will be trying to do at least 5 x 3 mile walks and we are planning to put some flower beds in so will be hopefully be quite active
