Morning all, weather looking not too bad, dry and not too windy so at least it shouldn't blow off the line which I think it may well have done yesterday! First load on the line; second load in the machine.
@savingholmes - there's a Free Membership offer at the moment if you buy a 12 week Countdown - valid until 23rd April; don't know if this would be of interest to you - would cost you £59.50 (reduced rate if you're over 60 but not sure how much but £49.50 probably as you get £1 a week reduction).
You've made a good start with the batch cooking. Definitely very useful when you do SW and you've included plenty of Free and Speed foods as well as Protein in the dishes you've cooked.
Today's planned:
B - scrambled eggs with spinach on toast - HEB; P; S
L - mini meatloaves with tomato glaze; roasted vegetables - P; S
D - Goan prawn curry, spicy rice, HM samosas - P; S; F; 4
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - 50ml light coconut milk 2; 2 samosas - 2
Have a good day everyone.2 -
Morning all. Good luck with finishing the walk @Coxy11!
The furthest I've ever been on a work trip was Leeds @annabanana82 🤣 so fingers crossed you get to go to Australia, that would be amazing!
I think we're all a little hard on ourselves sometimes @Mrs_Ryan and being kinder and not putting too much pressure on can really help overall.
Breakfast was porridge for a change today, lunch is the last of my pork veg mix and then dinner is pasta bake with lots of veggies in there. Going to a gin tasting event tomorrow for a friend's birthday so will probably be limiting myself to the alcohol free ones as still on the antibiotics. Will report back on any new ones I find.
Hope you all have a good day!

Have got a load of onions so have just sliced some and put in the SC to make a French onion soup. Not done it in the SC before so no idea what it will be like. I haven't got any sherry which the recipe includes but have got sherry vinegar so will use some of that and add a bit more sweetener! Hopefully that will work.
Recipe says it makes 6 portions so we'll see. May well have a small portion each before dinner tonight and then freeze the rest.
Enjoy your gin tasting tomorrow night @ruby_eskimo; shame you're still on antibiotics so are going to stick with the alcohol free ones - hopefully there will be a few to try. Be interesting to know about any other 0% gins! I'm sure there are some flavoured ones and I know that there's a Gordons Pink gin as well as I saw that in Sainsbury's yesterday.

Thank you for the fake KFC recipe @joedinise and@ maman. Will definately give that a try. Dont have any powdered mash at present. Bought a pot of Smoky Chili Breadcrumbs from Sainsburys. The barcode scanner didnt recognise them but at 80kcal for 1/5 th pot. I think that would be approx 4 syns. if i use that much. Will try anyway until i can find mash powder.
Had a biggish shop today to get in stock all the basic SW essentials. Fat free yoghurt, fromage frais, darylee, mayo etc. But will last awhile. So less expensive going forward..
Just made up a lovely looking lunch.
Egg/Ham and beetroot/corn on the cob/tomato and sauerkraut. With a HexB soft pitta.
D. Use up all left over veg from this week to make a Vegetable Curry. Rice.
Buying fresh fruit and veg after weigh in tomorrow. Have taken advice and planned next few days meals.
Hope all have a pleasant weekend.1 -
The smoky chilli breadcrumbs sound like they'd make a really nice coating for the chicken - I think you're probably right about 4 syns for 80 cals.
Is it these ones @O@OWD_nana ?
Sainsbury's Inspired to Cook Smoky Chilli Breadcrumbs (25g)
If so they are 4.5 syns for 25g. Probably easier to just weigh out 25g rather than guessing at 1/5 of a tub!

I said to her a bit random but i cooked some beetroot this morning so bought you some 😂 she goes i love beetroot, i said i know you do that's why i brought it with me.

You might want to try the Pinch of Nom recipe @OWD_nana. It uses breadcrumbs and a different range of herbs and spices. Personally I'd use ground pepper and mustard powder but it depends what you have in.
KFC Fakeaway - Pinch Of Nom
It's good that the AF gin tastes like the original Gordon's @joedenise and a great idea to try them in a bar. Enjoy your tasting session @ruby_eskimo.😋
I'm out of rye bread so need to go to Lidl. their loaves are HEB weight and fit in my toaster! I had Aldi wholemeal this morning so that left me a slice for lunch.
I'd definitely go by train @Gettingtherequickly. Hope your flight is effortless after all those horror stories we've been hearing about with the massive queues. Enjoy your weekend with your mum. 😊
Mort happy news about your mum and dad @bubbs, what a change in a few days. 😁
I did my meal plan and shop earlier so all set up for the week ahead. I'm out for a shared supper again tomorrow but it usually works out well as any syns I eat are balanced off by the wine syns I don't have because I'm driving.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB (half) toast, scrambled eggs (P), HEA milk for drinks
L- HEB (half) toast, sardines (P), salad (S)
D- Sweet and sour chicken (P,S), noodles (F)
Syns- LTL mayo 0.5, Ben's sauce 1.5, weekend wine😁2 -
Maybe you could treat yourself to a bottle of 0% alcohol gin @maman for the nights when you're driving. Sainsbury have got it on special at £12 at the moment and Morrisons at £14. Think the normal price is £18.
I'm going to buy a couple more bottles when I go to group on Wednesday as Sainsbury's is just over the road to where I go.
The SC onion soup tastes good so we'll have a small bowl as a starter this evening. Hopefully that'll keep us full all evening with the curry & rice.
Also made the pea and ham soup. That is in the freezer so another lunch sorted.

Thanks @joedenise. I haven't had much gin lately so I have plenty of the real stuff in stock. When I'm driving it's a rare event as I'm on my own and I've weaned myself off playing catch up when I get home. 🤣 I don't miss it when I'm dancing so I use it as an opportunity to save some syns. It would be good in a restaurant at lunchtime though as I'm often driving later or falling asleep! It would make a change from fizzy water as I don't like sweet, soft drinks.
Would you post the recipe for French onion soup. That always reminds me off the first time I had it in Montmartre complete with cheesy, floating croutons. 😋1 -
Maman yes a great change
Although Mum said when sorting the tablets, i keep the hammer separately 🤣🤣 for when he don't sleep, slept till 3.30 this morning then up and down 😂 Dad just laughs 😁
When he saw the rollator he said wonder if i would be able to use one, a walking stick would def be out the question but can't see why he wouldn't manage one although he is back to being steady on his feet, he made the tea and washed the cups up, Mum said she wouldn't even let him make a drink last week.
Food today, not much!
