Any suggestions for me for tomorrow. Dentist at 11 for extraction, so will be just about thawed at lunch time. Doubt if I will be allowed anything hot, so soup out of the question, but as I don’t go home before weigh in, which is 6:45, so by the time I get home (on social team), it will be after 8, that is if I don’t stay for group, so will be a long day.
Good ideas from @bubbs.  If you have cottage cheese you could make dirty mousse which apparently is more filling (but not something I've tried!) - you make up the jelly using 1/4 pint boiling water until crystals dissolve then top up to 1/2 pint, stir through a tub of fat free cottage cheese and whisk for at least a minute until bubbles begin to appear on the surface and then put in fridge for couple of hours at least.

  • Ooh, thanks Bubbs & Denise, didn’t think of jelly, will make some up. Have put a couple of eggs in microwave container so can have them scrambled as an option, will be Billy tomorrow, so won’t be an issue, otherwise wouldn’t dream of it😀

Nor had I @bubbs until I went to my old group (the one I recently left!).  Quite a few of them talked about it - have to say my reaction is like yours - and I don't even mind cottage cheese which I know you don't like at all.

More shopping today but in the town in the opposite direction as I want to go to The Food Warehouse, Home Bargains and Sainsbury.  If I leave early enough I'll pop into Lidl as well to see if I can get a veg box.  Will have to pick up some tinned tomatoes if I can't get one so I don't have to pay for parking!

Have had to change the plan for this morning as DH has decided he wants to play golf today and I was going to make a breakfast hash but it's not worth doing for one!

    So today's plan:

    B - fry up - bacon, egg, mushrooms, beans - P; S; F
    L - LO gammon salad sandwich - HEB; P; S; 0.5
    D - mushroom stroganoff, rice - HEA2; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - Primula Light (yes I managed to get some this week!)
    HEB - bread
Syns - LTL mayo - 0.5; may have a rocky road bar 3.5 (if I can get any in HB today, they hadn't got any last time I was there)

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all.  Good luck with the extraction @Gettingtherequickly and I'd just go with a proper mousse and sod the syns rather than make that cottage cheese monstrosity 😳

Working at home today as I have to give another big presentation this afternoon and trying to find a quiet place in the office would be impossible.  Still on the softer food - scrambled egg for breakfast again, pork mince veg stir fry thing for lunch and dinner is more mushroom risotto.

Hope you all have a good day.

  • Almost completely thawed out now! First question I was asked when I went in, "have you had breakfast?"!  Got to say Ruby, it was a very easy extraction, probably because the gum was the issue more than the tooth so there was a bit of movement as if the tooth wasn't fixed firmly in the gum, consequently it came out quickly, my 45 min appointment lasted 20. One thing I stupidly forgot to take to work with me was a straw, at least I could have had some water earlier :(

Not sure what the scales are going to say this evening, yesterday, unusually, I made a chicken pasta salad for lunch, but I felt like a beached whale last night having had that and a jp with bolognaise for dinner.

Thank you ladies for your replies and welcome @savingholmes. Come and sit with me in the newbie seats.
Another question please. How do you make the fake KFC. My daughter has all my old SW recipe books but they are in a box somewhere as she is having a newly built kitchen. Will eventually get them back but could take a few weeks.

There are various versions of the Fakeaway KFC.  There's one on the SW website but I tend to use either SlimmingEats or PinchofNom website for recipes.

Most of us on here cheat a bit and use cheap instant mash powder and add whatever herbs/spices to it to coat the chicken pieces.  You can use thighs or breast but personally I prefer thighs cut up but you can use them whole if you prefer.  Just dip in egg and then coat in the spiced mix, put on a baking sheet sprayed with Frylight; once all on the baking sheet spray again and then bake at 180 degrees (Gas 6, I think?) until cooked.  (we don't bother synning the instant mash as it always used to be free when we started!).

Serve with whatever sides you like.  I usually do chips, corn on the cob and beans; sometimes do coleslaw as well.

    I use this recipe @OWD_nana
Homemade Healthy KFC Chicken - Basement Bakehouse
I find one egg is enough and prefer boneless thighs to breast. You can use other spices and herbs if you prefer. I think @bubbs adds mustard powder. It used to be free until SW decided to syn instant mash powder so it's probably about 4 syns per person now if you're being fussy. I ignore the syns as I'm not aware that every company has changed the recipe for instant mash and I don't use it excessively.

Your appointment doesn't sound too bad @Gettingtherequickly. Weird that you felt bloated after a chicken salad?? 🤞🏼 for WI tonight.

Hope you can start eating more food choices by the weekend @ruby_eskimo.😊

I don't fancy that cottage cheese and jelly concoction either. I love cottage cheese (had some for lunch😋) but I'd rather have mine straight. 🤣

The sun is shining here after raining all night. I do hope the weather is picking up for you and your sister @Coxy11. I had an hour's walk this morning but nothing by your standards. 😉

I went to the Company Shop earlier. No rich pickings to be had in mine though @bubbs, probably need to go earlier in the day although it varies a lot. It's only 3 miles away so no big deal. I did get a Sainsbury's chicken for the weekend, cheese (Wensleydale & cranberry 50p) and crackers  for DH , a big savoy cabbage for 25p, Tesco NAS ginger beer for 20p and various bits for the foodbank like tuna in oil and some cleaning stuff.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, fried eggs, bacon (P)
L- JP (F), cottage cheese, ham (P), leaves, tomato, beetroot (S)
D- sausages, mash, LO gravy (F), carrots, onions, greens (S)
Syns- Aldi sausages 1, LTL mayo 0.5
  • Hi all,

Had a rare day in the office, forget how much I need to do in the morning so forgot to take my lunch!
I wasn't that hungry after my meeting but popped into to the local supermarket to pick a few bits up.
Did manage more steps than usual so a little win there.
Also sounds like there is a slim possibility of a trip to Australia, so will be trying to wiggle myself on that one :-)

Breakfast: mixed berries and natural FF greek yoghurt

Lunch: 4 slices of ham, 2 x skinny crunch HEXB

Dinner: Turkey keema, basmati rice. Along with peas I added mushrooms and spinach for some SF

One question I've been meaning to ask what is an SP day??
