We had a reverse raffle at class tonight.
    WAs good fun  :)
    What's a reverse raffle @beanielou? 🤔

Thoroughly enjoyed my dinner. I found a packet of Golden Vegetable rice in the cupboard and had that with a veggie stir fry, flavour and with some soy and 5 spice. 😋

What on earth is a reverse raffle @beanielou?  Never heard of that.

Plumber has got back to me and he can fit the new boiler on Wednesday so at least we won't have to be cold for too long!  To be fair it's just a case of keep going and resetting the boiler so it's a pain more than anything else!

A reverse raffle is where all the tickets go in the raffle as usual.
    There are different gifts.
Each ticket is pulled out individually & you claim a gift if it is your number.
This carries on with the gifts going round according to the numbers pulled out, until all numbers are pulled.
The last so many people to have their number pulled gets to keep the gifts!
    Hope this makes sense!

    Thanks everyone 🥰

I have never heard of a reverse raffle either 😂

I missed out Christmas party 😥 but i did win a raffle prize, sweet moulds and ingredients although not got it yet, my friend has it .

To top today off Dad is not well 😪

Last night she said he never even got in bed for more than 2 seconds and was out, then in, then out, finally he got into bed at 4(this was from 10), then he woke up at 5 and said is it time to get up? 😂Mum said no it's not go back to sleep .
Mum said she was so frightened this morning, He had a doctors appointment for dementia tests anyway today so kept the appointment, but they couldn't do the tests as he was so confused, he was getting undressed and turning his clothes in the wrong way and trying to get dressed again, poured his cup of tea over the gas cooker 😱 all sorts she said.
The doctor thinks he is de hydrated as he is not drinking much as has problems with his water works 😪😪 but she has managed to get him drinking more and bought him some inconitance pants.

One thing after another, no wonder poor Mum is at breaking point

Morning all, a cold and windy day today and it looks as though the rain is going to hold off so taking a chance and washing the bedding and hanging outside on the line!  Will probably still need to finish off on the airer but hopefully it will dry off a bit.

Sorry to hear the problems your parents are having @bubbs - I really feel for your mum.  Can she get your dad into respite care for a while to give her a break, or even just someone to stay with him for a few hours?  It's heartbreaking for the whole family.  DH's mum had dementia and I know how hard that was and we weren't the ones caring for her.

Sounds great that reverse raffle @beanielou; quite frustrating though unless your number is one of the last few!  Definitely sounds fun.

    Today's plan:

    B - kedgeree - P; S; F
L - jacket potato, beans, salad
    D - beef stew (from the freezer), mash - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - none planned
Syns - 250ml alcohol free wine 3 (we're going to a friend's house this evening and she can't drink and DH won this bottle in a raffle at golf yesterday so decided we might as well take that with us!)

I've managed to sort out the gas engineer/plumber to fit a new boiler tomorrow so DH has cancelled his golf so that I can go to group!  That's got to be a first; it's usually me that has to wait in for workmen, deliveries etc!

    Have a good day everyone.

It's difficult enough as parents get older @bubbs but dementia is so hard, hope your mum gets some respite.

Wish I could get washing out @joedenise we're thawing out nicely, it's a tropical 5 degrees today but heavy wintry showers and the wind is so cold that I'm convinced we'll get more snow soon.

DS has declared he wants pizza for tea so picked one up when I nipped out earlier but undecided what I would like.

So far I've had cheerios (HEXB) with f/f Greek yoghurt and banana and lunch was some lentil soup.

    Have a good day all.

Afternoon all - had a busy few days so been away from the forum and you're about 10 pages ahead of where I was!  Welcome @neveah and welcome back @Matron_Midge

Hope you're feeling better soon @bubbs and hope your mum and dad can get some help / respite soon.

Fingers crossed you can get the boiler sorted tomorrow @joedenise

Had a busy yet enjoyable weekend with friends, busy start to the working week now and all I want to do is curl up on the sofa and sleep 😆  Ended up trekking into the office yesterday as was specially invited out for drinks afterwards - kept to the coke zero as was driving but had a good time.

Food is a bit all over the place at the moment - didn't have breakfast (but did have my advent chocolate 😆) and lunch was vegetable soup and a slice of bread.  Dinner tonight is carbonara with added mushrooms as they need using up and probably a mince pie for desert.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

The washing got a bit of a blow and dried a bit but still needed to put on the airer as not completely dry.  Not even certain it'll be dry by tomorrow as it's sheets and duvet cover so several layers to get them on the airer.  The pillow cases should dry though - they were nearly dry when I bought them in.

DH is going to be dealing with the gas engineer/plumber as I'm going to group so he can sit and be chilly instead of me!  Although having said that suspect it will be quite chilly in the hall for group as there's no heating!

    Afternoon all

Nothing here changed , we are still the same, no taste, no smell.

Went to put the heating on that wasn't working, I said that's all we need! but DH sorted it, it was the fuse.

Dad is really poorly 😥😥and i can't even go over, he has had emergency bloods done and the doctor is ringing Mum when surgery has finished tonight.

He fell out of bed twice in the night and she had to call my sister to get him up, then after this he wouldn't get in bed again, Mum said he is bent over nearly double, yet he has never been like this, certainly wasn't like it on Friday when i saw them.

He is now not going to the toilet either (No2) in his bag, Mum said nothing now been in there for 2 days, well that's not normal either as she changes him about 4/5 times a day.

The doctor said it sounds like you need help, gave them the number & online details to get in touch,  my sister did it online as thought it would be quicker and they said they will be in touch within 7 days!!
