    Afternoon all

Sorry to all the poorlies, hope you are all soon on the mend 😍 We have been very lucky with not getting covid, one of my sister's has had it 3 times i think but she works in a day centre.

Took Mum and Dad shopping today so had a lovely fry up before i went as knew i wouldn't get lunch. Fake KFC for tea 😋

Dad came home with a snow globe from the day centre this week, last week was a crocheted gonk (which is lovely) i said to Mum you will have something every week, like when a child brings things from school 😂😂 she said my Pap (her dad) used to come back with a letter shoved in his shirt pocket 🥰 but the thing is he is really nasty to Mum when he comes back saying to my sister she sends me off everywhere :( he goes day centre 1 day a week 😏 Mum said he really upset her this week and she was really crying 😪 but then he says to my sister so you picking me up next week?

I said to Mum it's when he is tired he says these things and that's also when he is very confused like when we came back from shopping.

He had to get changed as his bag filled up while we was out and leaked a bit on his vest and shirt :( so he asks Mum where are my vests? Mum said i will come and get you one, well Dad has always worn a vest so i said to Mum where they have been kept for the last 50 years 🤣 she did laugh. So she then said go have a lie down as you are tired, ok he says, what time shall i get up? 😂 She said i'll come and get you about 3 🥰

    Morning!

    Get better soon @ruby_eskimo
Your poor DMum @bubbs, I expect we will all be a bit frustrated, irritated and grumpy when we start to age and lose our faculties. Cute that the day centre do activities to bring home though.
Oh no @beanielou - worth it though for Lindt choc!!
Good to see you @joedenise - how's the holiday?

We went to see She Said last night - good film and so happy it made change happen. We had SC chilli con carne when we got in. I also had a little glass of red wine.

WI today and whad'ya know but TOTM came this morning! Finally, after feeling rough since Weds (I didn't do a C19 test in the end). I am off to London for brunch at Quaglino's today for a friends' significant birthday. It's pricey (Conran I think?) and will have 'jus' 'reduction' and other such nonsense. I will stick to gin and slimline tonic as don't want to do the bottomless champagne at +£80/head. Can't do more than one glass of fizz without feeling really rough.

    Have a good day all

Having a good holiday with lots of food and alcohol!  Have definitely put on weight as the skirt I had on the other night was very tight.  Glad most of my clothes are at least half elasticated.

Have also had Lindt chocolate like beanie, very nice it was too.

Can’t believe we’re over half way through our holiday - it’s going really quickly!

Will be back to normality all too soon!

Hi everyone, I’ve had four days in Madrid!  All very last minute and done on a whim but what a fantastic time I had.  Back to group this morning and got the expected gain lol.

Won the raffle today which was a carrier bag full of speedy fruit and veg 😀 I’ve prepped most of it and have a beef casserole in the slow cooker now with chilli going in next followed by spag bol.  I’ve three packs of tomatoes to use up too so thinking tomorrow I might make tomato and orzo soup from the new soup book and some pasta sauce to add to the rest for the freezer for those CBA days.

Although I’m not looking forward to back to work on Monday, I’m really happy to be back on plan.

Will need to read back to catch up with the news but hope you are all well x

Well done on getting that pound @Vegastare. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Hope you feel better very soon @ruby_eskimo. Fortunately, I'm another that seems to have somehow dodged Covid so far. 🤞🏼

I'm sure it wasn't 5lbs worth of chocolate @beanielou. Hope you have a good girls' night out and you, too, at Quaglino's @Coxy11. 🎉

I'm glad you've found a way to keep going with SW @SingleSue. What an understanding consultant. 👍🏼

We had a lovely couple of days away (not as exotic as Madrid though @Jellybaby😉). I made fairly good choices, but I did have a pasty, an ice cream at the theatre and some sourdough with a cooked breakfast. At the moment I'm lurching from one event to the other.

Today I've had a SW breakfast (fry up) and a JP with prawn cocktail for lunch. I'm out for dancing tonight. It's a buffet supper and I know there will be SW friendly food like lean meats and salads, but I'll be driving so can use some of my weekend wine syns for anything else that I fancy.

    100% back on plan tomorrow.

Don't think (last famous words) i am going to be so busy this week, so might make a vat of soup for lunches as going to be bitter cold this week

    Banana at group

    BLT egg wraps at lunch

Pizza and BNS chips for tea, hexa and b

Might have some chocolate later 😜

    Morning all,

    Glad you're enjoying the holiday @joedenise x
Ooooh Madrid @Jellybaby, very nice and well worth the little gain I'm sure. Get you with your raffle bag of speedy veg. We don't have a raffle as we have a relief consultant, no tastings either or Miss Slinky/Mr Sleek. Barely any shop goodies either. It's bad really but what can you do?
Definitely think soup is in order for this week @bubbs. I will do some too.

Well 1lb off for me this week which I'm thrilled about. I had a hi fi bar on the walk home from group but no time for a proper breakfast as wanted to get an earlier train so I could go to Fortnum's before getting to the restaurant. It was heaving - the queue to pay stretched the entire ground floor. I got 2 mini Christmas cakes plus some Boxing day pickle. Went downstairs to the wine department and no queue to pay - happy days. The cakes will be winging their way to my good friends on the Wirral. Pickle is for us!

The meal at Quag's was okay....service shockingly poor though, just not enough staff. We had two courses - I had smoked salmon to start then the burger.... I know I know. But I only ate the bottom half of the bun! I had 1 gin and slimline and then a glass of prosecco. The other girls also had a bottle of wine between them but I didn't join them. It was £108 each which included £5 each music charge as they had a singer (who was so loud we had to shout to have a conversation). Ridiculous.

We then went for a drink at a local pub (2nd oldest in London) where I had another 2 gin and slimlines, then onto a wine bar just of Leicester Square where I had a rum and diet coke. LS was heaving - it was like walking against a rugby scrum. Clearly people making up for the last 2 rubbish Christmas's. I was home by 7pm, felt comfortably full and not at all tipsy as I'd spaced the drinks out with water.

Unfortunately DH had seen our next door neighbour yesterday afternoon who told him his wife had passed away on Wednesday from Leukeamia. She was not yet 60. I'm so shocked - think that's why I got up so early today as it was playing on my mind. Need to go get something for him today plus a card. Don't like to give fresh cut flowers - I'd rather give something that lasts. Might get a cyclamen planter or similar - she loved her garden.

BFF and her DH coming today for a pub roast, so another day off plan. I won't be drinking but we might have a mince pie or two.

    Have a good day all,
    Coxy
