Morning all, my cough woke me up this morning at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep so ended up getting up about half 4; feeling tired but daren't go back to bed as I've got WI this morning and also need to go to Home Bargains which is in the same town as group. May well go back to bed when I get home from group!
@beanielou - That sounds a bit like the last group I went to, particularly not liking the consultant. Hope the new group is better for you.
@Mrs_Ryan - that is really bad that the WI person is commenting on your loss - I really don't think it's their place to be commenting like that. I'd be really p'd off if our WI lady made that sort of comment!
Today's plan:
B - mushroom omelette - P; S
L - toasted cheese sandwich - HEB; HEA2
D - vegetable biryani - S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - none planned
Back later with WI result!
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning everyone,
@joedenise - hope you manage to get some rest later and good luck for WI this morning.
@beanielou - I too had a previous group that was more like a social outing for most. Just so frustrating. New group is short and sweet although consultant left whilst I was away, so will see what new one is like on Saturday! Good luck with the new group.
@MrsRyan - that's harsh if the WI team are commenting! I would have a word about mutual support etc. that is, after all, why we attend group!
Stuck to plan yesterday although definitely didn't have my full milk HEA as only had 2 tea and 2 coffee all day. Stuck to NAS squash the rest of the time. We had a new recipe of mackerel pasta last night. I had to improvise as original recipe suggested 5 tbsp olive oil - I just gave it a good squirt of fry light. Nice and quick and would do again.
Food today:
B - grilled bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, pineapple chunks - S
L - peppered mackerel, salad leaves, tomatoes, pickles - 1
D - A!di slimwell chicken saag, rice - will share with DH so 1
HEA - milk
HEA - mini babybel light
HEB - hi fi bar
Total syns - 2
Have a good day everyone,

change of plan for breakfast! Decided I didn't fancy an omelette so had some fruit and yoghurt with 1/2 portion of Kelloggs No sugar granola for 3 syns. Really enjoyed it too, although probably not a good idea to have syns before WI!

Morning everyone, I feel tired just reading what time you got up at @joedenise! Hope WI goes well and you manage a wee nap when you get home.
@beanielou my last group was very like yours but it changed to a male consultant who is lovely. The change has obviously encouraged a lot of men to join which is great from a health and wellbeing point of view but I do have a sneaky chuckle each week as 'the clique' (and every group has them) now turn up in full make up in their best (but lightest) outfits looking very chic
Stuck to plan yesterday but feeling a bit bloated this morning so will drink more water see if that helps. Sun is out yay!!
Today's food:
B - 45g bran flakes, ff Greek yoghurt, mango and strawberries
L - ham, mushroom, spring onion and tomato omelette with pickled cabbage (found a jar hidden in the cupboard)
D - chilli, rice, roasted tomatoes and last of the broccoli
Have a good day all!

That's an unearthly hour to wake up @joedenise. I'd barely gone to bed then! 🤣 Hope you've had a good morning. 🤞🏼
You're obviously getting a lot of pleasure and NSVs from wearing 16-18s @MrsRyan. It's a milestone in just the same way as an interim target so enjoy it. 😊 I tried on some of my summer slip dresses this morning and was really pleased that they still fit. Not planning to wear them yet but a good incentive. I'm definitely more motivated by dress size than numbers.
I cooked the last of my dry butter beans last night as I'd used the last in the freezer. It's so easy in the slow cooker.
Change of plan for tomorrow as we've decided to go to the pub to watch football (rearranged Covid game) and have something to eat there. I haven't decided yet whether to try to minimise syns or just see what I fancy. I'm probably far enough off WI to get away with it. 🤔
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, fried egg, ham (P), mushrooms, tomato (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- vegetable hash, pickles (S), 1 potato? (F), cold meat (P)
D- sausage casserole (P,S, F), tagliatelle (F)
Syns- cornflour 10 -
Definitely an unearthly hour to wake up! Actually don't feel too bad now so not going to have a nap but not going to do anything either! WI wasn't as good as I'd hoped as I gained 0.5lb - I've no idea why as I was well down on the syns this week. I know we had Chinese but I ate so little of it and I'd of thought 24 for the whole lot would have been ample to cover the syns - but I only ate less than half of it over 2 days. Maybe it's something to do with not being well over the weekend - who knows. Still it's a new week.
Consultant has suggested I do a food diary and also to try and up the SP meals (told her I can't do full days of SP as I always feel hungry if I try).
Added a salad and some pickles to my toasted cheese sandwich at lunchtime! Have changed a few meals over the next few days as well to try and up the Speed food and reduce the carbs!

Boo to the little gain @joedenise but agree being unwell probably didn't help matters. Like you say, new week and all that. I couldn't manage a SP day either so don't blame you!
I'm hungry today! Had my breakfast and fruit before 10am (usually eek it out until then) and then an early lunch of mackerel salad and pickles. Have already had my HEA babybels plus a banana! Now eyeing the crabsticks in the fridge! Oh dear. Doesn't help that boss is off so I've barely any work. Have been job hunting lol!Cross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 18/25 Currently reading It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover0 -

It's a tiny gain @joedenise but hard to take when you're under syns for the week. ☹️
I suppose it's worth giving the consultant's ideas a try for a week. It won't do any harm. I find omelettes make a good SP lunch or breakfast and cottage pie with a swede and carrot mash is the most filling dinner. I often have low carb meals. Most of the fried veg I have often has just one potato if any. Not sure if it helps though. 🤔
I realised I synned cornflour but the casserole is fine without it. I didn't syn sausages so today stays at 1.😊1 -
Another 3 mile walk this morning, then a trip to a castle this afternoon. Not working is great for getting my steps up!
B: mixed berries and FF greek yoghurt skinny crunch 1/2 Hexb
L: Potato Bhaji tortilla Freewe are going for Chinese, I'm having boiled rice and Roast pork in Chilli Garlic sauce no idea on syns but don't think I'll exceed 15 with this dish (I hope) but won't eat the full portion either
