    Morning all,

I self-sabotaged last night with crisps and a brownie - DH was out and I'm so fed up with work that I succumbed. Clearly I can't be left alone! We are out for a curry takeaway with friends tonight too. WI is tomorrow morning. I know I've gained as I'm the same weight naked as last time I was at group. Heyho!

    Food today:
B - poached eggs on WM toast, pineapple - HEB
L - Sardines in tomato sauce, salad leaves, tomatoes, pickles - S
    D - takeaway curry - syns x lots
    HEA - milk
    HEA - mini babybels

    Have a good day everyone,
    Coxy

Morning all, weather is looking OK now but was very grey earlier; it's a bit windy but not too bad.

Oh dear @Coxy11 - you can't change the past so just draw that line and jump back on plan.  It was be very difficult with what is going on at work.  If you're just having the curry then it doesn't need to be horrendous synwise if you choose sensibly - there are lots of things which are within syns and with plain rice.  Really depends on if you plan on drinking wine as well - if you are could you stick to spirits rather than wine (0% Gordons gin is OK at 0.5 syn for a double!).  Good luck with WI tomorrow morning.

@maman - why is it that you can get a jacket and steak and end up with just a bit of tomato as Speed?  Don't think onion rings count! (unless they haven't been deep fried!).  It really annoys we when we eat out.

    Today's plan:

    B - overnight oats - HEB; S; F
    L - SC onion soup - S; F
    D - stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon; chips; baked beans - HEA2; P; F; 6

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - Primula Light
    HEB - porridge oats
    Syns - frozen chips 6; 0% G&T 1

Yes, I'm sticking with alcohol free gin while we're away!

I'm taking all our food with us so hopefully should be able to stay on plan while we're away.  Also get in some Body Magic with the walking round the woods and gardens.  Autumn is lovely as well there as there are a lot of camelias which are beautiful when they are in flower.

Not sure how often, if at all, I'll manage to get online.

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all.  Hope you have a good weekend away @joedenise and good luck with the job search @Coxy11 - it's always nice to be appreciated and when you're not, it really can affect you.

Had a busy week with work so been a bit MIA and may have eaten an easter egg over the course of a few days but hey at least it was over a few days and not all in one go - this is progress 😆  Breakfast this morning was a bacon sandwich with some mushrooms.  Lunch is going to be a chicken salad that I prepped yesterday and for dinner I have no idea as DH is now going out with friends for a curry after cricket practice tonight so I have to try and think of something to have instead of the planned meal we were going to have 🤔

Hope you all have a good weekend.

  • I can't remember who wanted to know about the Bob Marley musical, but it was ok.  The actress who played his wife was brilliant, he, not that good, but I think that has more to do with the sound rather than him.  As they were all using Jamaican accents (obvs!), it was a bit difficult to understand them with the poor volume in the sound.  Songs were fine as we knew them, but the spoken parts were hard work.  I enjoyed it, but would not definitely say that I would go again as I would have after previous theatre visits.  Was absolutely on plan, but really hungry when I got home (had chicken salad for dinner before I left work, so had eaten dinner about 3 hours earlier than I normally would), could have gone really wrong as there was nothing that I could grab, then remembered I could have cheese, as I had not had HX.  Best thing I buy is 12(?)g portions from M&S, so ate 2 of them, stopped me feeling hungry and on plan,  I know they are expensive, but sometimes it is a cheaper way to do things, there is no waste and temptation is reduced.

Walking tomorrow, 10 mile trip, so although breakfast will probably be involving syns, I do lunch, so that will be ok and then no idea about dinner.  Hoping that the walk will counter balance excess syns, but I will still have Sun-Thurs to deal with any problem. Feeling quite positive about things as I had the unexpected loss and I had the misfortune to see my reflection in a shop window, did not like what I saw so maybe my subconscious is working also!

Thanks @Gettingtherequickly - it was me who asked. Will give that a swerve then as probably quite an expensive present for the two of them. Well done on sticking to plan. Love portions of cheese and it means less temptation.

Enjoy your time away @joedenise :)

I think that, as SW is a long term change to healthy eating, you just have to work it round your lifestyle @Coxy11. Like @joedenise said we just have to be sure to draw that line and get back to the SW plan whether it's after holidays or meals out or moments of self sabotage.

The cheese portions sound like a good idea @Gettingtherequickly. I feel the same about cake or crisps. It may not be the cheapest way to do it but I'd prefer to buy a slice of cake in a coffee shop or a single bag of crisps with a shop bought sandwich or a cheeseboard in a restaurant than have them at home. I know multi packs or whole cakes are cheaper but not very healthy if you end up eating the lot! 🤣

I quite like it when I can have a meal without DH in the evening @ruby_eskimo. It all stopped when the lockdowns started but egg and chips is my favourite.😁 My DH doesn't eat eggs s that's a real treat.  😋

I agree that Speed can be  very thin on the ground when eating out @joedenise. Today's lunch was an exception though. It was refreshing to go for a meal where it wasn't the usual pub food fare. I had a starter salad which had a generous portion of leaves with cubes of feta, lardons and avocado so only syns were in the (minimal) avocado and a bit of dressing.  For my main I had sea bass with new potatoes and  Speed was 'green stuff' like pak choi and asparagus. I had a pot of tea while everyone else was having puddings.😇 I had a SW breakfast and if I feel like anything later it will be SW friendly.

I had the Gordon's alcohol free gin in the pub and, like you said, @joedeniseit both smells and tastes like gin! I won't buy any just yet as I have plenty of the hard stuff in stock but I'm glad I've tried it. It also meant that I could take myself off to do this week's shop so I'm now all set for the week. 😁
