Glad you were feeling up to having your ice cream @bubbs. 😁
  • Afternoon everyone.  Hope those that are feeling sick start feeling better soon.

Feeling a bit "meh" today but think I just have a lot on my mind.  Had a toasted cheese sandwich for brunch today with some salad and then dinner tonight is sausage and mash with some mixed green veg from the freezer.

Hoping to go for a walk after work today (need to start getting back to my workouts too, but they can wait another week!)

Hope everyone's having a good day!

You'll know you're back to normal when you get back on the exercise @ruby_eskimo, but no hurry. I'm doing a lot of dancing at the moment but I'm determined to get back to walking regularly. That was definitely one positive of the lockdowns.

Sadly, I'm also doing a lot of eating out too. It's lovely to see friends as a negative of lockdown was I'd been a bit reclusive but it's potentially not good for my weight.

    On plan today though. 😁

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, 2 fried eggs, ham (P), mushrooms (S)
    L- JP (F), chilli (P, S), cottage cheese (P), beetroot and cornichons (S)
D- liver and onions (P, S), new potatoes, LO gravy (F), vegetables (S)
    Syns - 0

What a hero coming round to hoover at her age @Vegastare. 👍

I hate to tell you this when you're feeling under the weather but you only have 1 HEB each day. So either porridge or bread. ☹️ Your toast will be 6ish (assuming it's not a two slice option like Aldi's). Not the end of the world as you need comfort food but important to count them.

Hope you feel better very soon. 🤗

Good morning everyone, chilly but bright here in Kent,

I didn't manage to get on yesterday. I was in the office and it was crazy busy, partly because I'm off tomorrow and next week, and partly because I don't get a moment's peace from my boss when I'm with her. I literally hadn't even got my coat off and she was asking for a video call to be set up for there and then, plus a room booked. Two different systems that take a while to load and access..... Will be glad when 5pm comes today.

I weighed in on Tuesday evening and it was a gain of 0.5lb. Kind of expected as it as was an evening weigh plus I'd eaten chocolate on BH Monday - just fancied it, and really enjoyed it!

Yesterday was a fail on the SW front. Didn't have any yoghurt to make overnight oats to take to work so I bought an M&S fruit pot plus some rice cakes for my breakfast. Lunch was lo byriani veg rice, I bought a shortbread biscuit from Wa!trose to see me through the afternoon (millions of syns I reckon) then a hi fi on the train home. Dinner was SW chicken, potato and kale bake. We were at the cinema in the evening, so only a tea after that.

    Today's food will be:
    B - banana, kiwi, grapes
L - poached egg, tomatoes and sweet peppers on toast - P, S, HEB
D - minced beef pasta bake - HEA for parmesan, otherwise P and S
    HEA - milk
    Syns - ?

I'm off to Glasgow on the overnight bus at 11pm tonight, so will take a hot chocolate with me. DSis and I have some nut snack packs so I might have one of those too. We are arriving into Glasgow at 7am, having breakfast and stowing our rucksacks at the hotel, then taking a train 20 minutes to Milngavie. We will then walk the 8 miles back to Glasgow. I reckon we will be back for mid-afternoon all being well. Will update from our hotel room tomorrow (hoping it actually has wifi as we had to pay extra for a window!).

Get well soon @room512 and hope you are both feeling brighter too @bubbs and @ruby_eskimo xx

    Have good days everyone
    Coxy

Is there anything more disappointing than attempting to eat a squishy (week old) 'ready to eat' kiwi fruit, than slicing it open to find it's rock hard and you need a kango to actually get to the fruit. I gave up after 3 bites!

@maman thanks - I think I always split HEB ie 1 br I wbix but have drifted from the norm this week.  Got phone appt GP this afternoon!!  Medication really not suiting - see what he says tabs meant to finish Sunday so will stay with it but just need to get a couple questions answered - freezing cold all the time - and asthma bad!!! what an old crock I am becoming.

B toast and low fat spread
L  Jack pot with L Cow light
D  omel with bacon mushroom and toms oven chips SW(maybe tin mushy peas)

HEB 1 slice br and 1 Hifi bar

Hi all, snap @Coxy11 I'm crazy busy at work and don't know where yesterday went.  Think I'm on auto pilot at the moment.

Still feeling better in myselfandt had joined a forum for all things menopause but it's dampened my spirit slightly!  So I've left already. Seems weight gain is the norm for most and 'meno belly' is a thing that can't be shifted.  Sorry if TMI!  I will continue with SW ways and up the exercise and see how it goes.

    Today's food:
    B - f/f Greek yoghurt, nectarines
L - soft pitta (HEXB), bacon medallions, salad
    D - spaghetti bolognaise with parmesan (HEXA2)

HEXA1 milk in coffee and 1.5 syns for salad cream

Hope you're all having a good day!

Just had to post to say Well Done @Jellybaby for leaving that forum! Absolute nonsense to say that weight gain can't be avoided at menopause. Having passed that age myself I am living proof. I think a stressful job, little time for exercise and too much eating (but mostly drinking 😁) the wrong things caused my gain. I joined SW, got to target 3.5 stone lighter in a year and have kept it off ever since! It CAN be done.

I've had a SW breakfast and lunch but just about to leave for a pre theatre supper. I'll try to choose wisely. 😉

Hope the GP can help you @Vegastare and good luck with the walking @Coxy11. 😊
