Well I was absolutely riled yesterday. I am disabled and a wheelchair user but can do little bits with the aid of the crutch, my son got me out of the chair and helped me to the scales but unlike the first two weighs, he was on my other side and not my crutch side (he had acted as the crutch for the previous weighs as I stepped on the scales) and I was about to discard the crutch (it was fully off the ground) when they took my weight! No amount of trying to explain they were weighing me with the crutch would get them to repeat the reading and crutches are not light, as a consequence, it showed a half pound gain.
So really really annoyed, not sure which annoys me more though, the 'blot' on my copybook or the 'computer says no' attitude. It took me all of yesterday to calm down until I eventually told myself not to be so silly, it was a mistake and it will be something to laugh about in months to come and further down the weight loss journey. I also know by my own scales (yes I know but I always keep a check at home) and my clothes, that it was a loss, so what does it matter about one entry in a book and I need to get over myself.
Son lost 2.5lbs.
We are away from tomorrow for a week and although we will try to be careful, there are some meals out planned. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Enjoy your meal @Jellybaby. I love things like samosas, bhajis and poppadums.😋
It's DH's birthday tomorrow but as he's working in the evening, I've no idea what's happening with meals. Currently he's talking about going out on Thursday instead and I know the plan is to go to the pub to watch football on Friday. Makes a bit of a mockery of meal planning! 🤣
I'm going to try making the pasta sauce from passata today instead of tinned tomatoes to see if we prefer it.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, bacon, fried egg (P), mushrooms (S) HEA1 milk for drinks
L- veggie omelette (P, S), ham (P), beetroot, tomatoes, cornichons (S)
D- meatballs (P, F, S), pasta (F), HEA2 Parmesan

Well @Jellybaby good on your for forward planning for early retirement. DH and I are forever saying "when are we retiring again!" especially after a rubbish week lol! Good luck with the dating. Not sure I CBA'd!
Aw @SingleSue that's rotten of the team to do that. I used to run WI at a previous group and would give folks time to prepare to weigh. You will have a good loss next week I'm sure xx
BFF has just asked if I want to go see the lying in state. I'm conflicted as I have such a busy weekend coming up, but might regret not going iyswim? Could go tomorrow after work but WI is 9am on Saturday morning. Would I make it home in time?! lolCross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0 -
Afternoon all. Congratulations to your DS and fiancée @Coxy11 and sorry to hear about your experience at weigh in @SingleSue, I know it doesn't say it in the book, but in yourself you know that you've lost weight. Oh and happy birthday to Mr @maman.
Having a bit of a funky day at work - not feeling great in general due to hormones and then lots of rubbish emails aren't helping! Had some bran flakes for breakfast and a tuna salad for lunch. Did plan to have a risotto for dinner but we're going to the theatre tonight and think DH might want to go out instead. Will have to wait and see.
Anyway that's the quick update, hope you all are having a good day.

Thanks everyone, I know it is such a silly thing to get in such a state about but it really did upset me yesterday. We now know the weight of one crutch, 715g, over 1.5lbs, plus I forgot to take my shoes off (not heavy ones thankfully) which all corresponds to what my scales said yesterday.
We'll never know though as we won't be weighing in next week as we are away for a week and it will probably be a gain (but hopefully not as much of one as it would have been if I had been weighed without the crutch) at our next meeting in a fortnight, as although we will be careful, we will not be following the plan properly whilst away.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Well done for looking at the silver lining @SingleSue. This week's weightloss will give you some leeway to go off plan while you're away. I'm surprised at what happened to you though. The other week, I posted that the reverse happened to me at WI. The scales hovered over the half pound I needed to stay in target range and settled on the 'wrong' side. When I stepped off, I realised I'd pushed my sunglasses up on my head and joked with the WI lady that they made all the difference. She said take them off, and your watch and have another go. I did and all was well. 😁
Great news about your DS @Coxy11. Definitely a goal to aim at with your weightloss. Any idea when the wedding might be? 🤔
Good to hear from you @joedenise. The weather here has been much the same. It was chilly here earlier but soon warmed up.
Thanks for the good wishes for DH's birthday yesterday. He had a good day, lots of phone calls from family and a visit from DD1 and DGD1 with cake. We did go out in the evening but not to eat so had dinner about 10 p.m.! So syns for me in cake and some wine and just 1 in the casserole I did for dinner. Some wine is left so may be finished today. 🤔 I'm feeling a bit philosophical about staying on plan at the moment. I'm having to take September as a 'good when I can' month as we're out quite a bit. I make wise food choices when I can, but I'd be surprised if I can lose by next WI.
Thanks for the comment about the pasta sauce @ruby_eskimo. As you suggested, I added tomato puree to the passata and it was much improved on using tinned tomatoes. I'll certainly do that again.
It's turned into a lovely day here despite a cool start. We went out for a good walk (10 000+ steps) so keeping up the Body Magic.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), HEA milk for drinks
L- LO casserole (P, S, F)
D- tuna niçoise salad (P, S), potatoes (F)
Syns- LTL mayo 1, anything else??

@SingleSue.....go away enjoy your week....you deserve a week away......and those folk at WI today forget it....next time you will be prepared, shoes off and crutch down, in fact a big smile and and 'oh can you hold these for me' and pass the crutch to one of them😉.....and if we spin this around, your next weigh in will reflect the loss even with your week away.
On to @Jellybaby good on looking forward...remember a wet toe will dry out.

Good news hair cut so maybe lost a bit more weight??
B scrambled egg toast mushroom and toms.
L ham open salad sandwich, lettuce and toms LC lite cheese
D Left over beef hash with green beans.
HEB bread x2
HEA Milk and cheese
Syns so I will say 500cal so 25 syns.....I have really blown it😢0 -
Well done on the loss @Vegastare. You have all week to be on plan!
Glad DH had a good day @maman. That’s late to eat though 😳
Enjoy your time away @SingleSue xx
No idea when a wedding might happen but hopefully not too soon given I’m a slow loser 🤣Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0 -
I'm going to congratulate you anyway @Vegastare, despite the cupcake! 🤣 2lbs is a good loss. 👏👏👏
Fortunately, you have a full week to rein back those syns. It's only today's.... +10! 🤣0 -
