Not sure how it will impact things but I've not been able to have my evening meal today. Pain levels are far too high and they are the sicky kind and I retch just thinking about eating. I did try to nibble something but it did not go well.

So jealous of the Sunday roasts, my lunch was scrambled egg with some salmon over the top on wholemeal bread accompanied by a very large bowl of carrots, onion, beetroot and cucumber and followed with FF Greek yoghurt and frozen summer fruit. I would love a roast but that is a bit beyond the equipment at work (a kettle, a microwave and a toaster), let alone the prep needed to do one. I used to be able to do them in my sleep, almost without thinking but I would fail at the first hurdle now (peeling and prepping the spuds).
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Morning everyone, a dry bright start here.

DS1 and pup due shortly. He has a first aid course in London and it's cheaper to go from here. He'll pick the pup up tonight and drop him again tomorrow for 10 days as he and his GF are off to the US to see her dad.

We are both WFH today and will continue with the wallpapering this evening. I don't particularly enjoy decorating but when there's two of you, spurring each other on, it makes it slightly less daunting. We did this house up over 7 years when we first moved here 18 years ago. A gentleman of 95 was going into residential care and he hadn't touched it since the 60's. We had little money, so had to do a room at a time. We've done the odd room since then, but periods of redundancy (both of us) and lack of funds, means that it's well overdue for a spruce up. Carpet/flooring company threatened us with cancelling the order on Friday as we haven't yet taken delivery - we have paid 50% cash deposit and have already made 3 of the 12 interest free payments. Felt like telling them to bog off!

    Food today will be:
    B - Fruit wheats, mullerlight, blueberries - HEB, 0.5, S
    L - JP, tuna and mayo, pickles - 1.5, S
D - SW keema pork with rice - Free
    HEA - Milk
Syns - hi fi bar plus 2 so 5 total

I hope your DDad is comfortable @bubbs x

Sorry to hear you had a rough day yesterday @SingleSue. I hope today is better for you - let us know how you're doing xx

    Have a good day all

  • Morning all!  Going to apologise now for not reading over the 20+ pages that you've all gone through since I was away, so sorry for missing news but hope your dad is ok @bubbs.

Had a great holiday where we even got time to relax this time rather than the go, go, go we've had on previous Florida trips.  Not sure what the best bit was but weighed myself this morning and I am the exact same weight as I was before we went 🤯🤯🤯🤯  That is the first time I've ever not really gained on holiday!  Don't get me wrong, I definitely wasn't eating SW approved food but I was mindful of the volume of food; we only ate when we were hungry so most days it was 1 proper meal and maybe a snack or two to share, we also went for the kids meals sometimes to reduce the portion sizes, and we were walking about 10 miles a day which obviously helped (and my legs are looking a lot more toned 😂😂)

Taking it easier this week but might try and go for a run after work if I'm not too tired (will at least go for a walk).  Breakfast was branflakes with milk and raspberries, lunch is going to be some split pea soup that I chucked in the slow cooker yesterday and dinner is a chicken casserole because I feel all autumnal now and want something cosy.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Glad you had a good holiday @ruby_eskimo, no such thing of portion size in the States!!

@SingleSue do hope you are in less pain today...didn't sound so good yesterday.

So my roast pork ala slow cooker turned out well, unlike the roast chicken a few weeks back( not my type of chicken experience) last couple of times I have not added any liquid and it is better.

B Plums and blueberries 1 wbix and FF yog.
L  left over veg topped with baked beans.
D  Jacket pot and prawns h made rose marie sauce ala Maman  green beans and salad mix

    HEA Milk
HEB  1 weetbix and skinny bar maybe.

That's amazing to not gain a single pound in the US @ruby_eskimo. Well done! You were very disciplined.

I do hope the pup behaves and doesn't do any damage after all your hard work @Coxy11. I visited a friend a couple of weeks ago and their puppy had chewed bits off their brand new kitchen. 🤔

Thanks for the feedback on the SC pork @Vegastare. I tried chicken once but it was more steamed than roasted so I'm sticking to the oven for that.

Hope you feel a bit better today @SingleSue. Just missing dinner last night shouldn't affect the plan especially as you had a good, balanced lunch earlier. For an occasional treat, a carvery is good if you're missing having a roast. My SW group used to go there for meals. There will be syns but not too bad if you swerve past the Yorkshires and then pile on the veg leaving little room for too many roasties. 😁

I hope your dad had a comfortable night @bubbs. 🤗

Lidl was right out of my preferred rye bread at the weekend so I'm using the Aldi wholemeal (2 slices) for my HEB instead. I could have another slice later if I fancy it.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB (0.5) toast, fried egg, bacon (P), baked beans (F), HEA milk for drinks
L- cold meat (P), fried LO veg and beetroot (S), 2 potatoes (F)
D- baked haddock (P), potatoes (F), broccoli, sugar snaps, tomato, mushrooms (S)
    Syns- 0

    Evening all

    Well done Ruby

Thanks everyone about Dad, i fetched him home today  they said he had a comfortable night he said he didn't sleep, so god knows 🤣
The CT scan showed nothing new and obviously they stopped the bleed  but Mum said they had to press a towel onto it going to A&E she said it was really red blood .
He was very confused but gets like this when he is not with Mum 🥰 about 100 times i told him why his shaver wasn't working....because it needs charging and when the light turns green it will be ready to go.
He wasn't that confused in hospital as they tried to give him baked beans 😱 he said i can't eat them i'll explode 🤣 can't have anything like that, spicy, fizzy or gassy.
He has an appointment tomorrow anyway with cancer nurse but she rang mum up and said A is in hospital, Mum goes yes i know that 🙄 so we will cancel for tomorrow, Mum said no you won't as you cancelled last week for this! and he is coming home today.

Hence i have had a crazy day, was just picking donations up and Mum rang could i fetch him, so i needed to go home and empty the car, this was 12.30, go and pick her up, go to Kettering hospital, get Dad, drop them home, get dad settled ,be back to pick DH up at 3, so no lunch and was starving as only had ham and melon for breakfast!

What a day @bubbs. You did well not to eat just any old thing while you were out.

It amazes me the junk they sell in hospitals, hard to find a healthy snack or even the meals for patients. I remember having to stay overnight once (should have gone home but no doctor available to sign me out ☹️) and all they had for breakfast was thin white sliced. I ended up like the Queen and Paddington with a marmalade sandwich! 🤣

I expect you enjoyed your tea! 😁
