No, it wouldn't have been full SP as that's got all sorts of weird rules @bubbs but essentially it's low carb with loads of Speed so close to the way you eat.

The goulash was tasty but so similar to chilli you'd hardly tell the difference. Made a change to have it with potato cakes (I used sweet potato) instead of rice. I've got enough left to have with a JP for a couple of lunches.

    Thanks everyone.

Re meal planning, I find doing a couple of days at a time works best for me. I've tried in the past to plan out the entire week but it seems to have a negative impact and I am more liable to go off track.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I suppose what mattters @SingleSue is how you shop. You need to have plenty of SW friendly ingredients in. I (roughly) plan weekly because I only shop once a week. I think where people sometimes fall down is when they've got nothing in and they decide on a take away. ☹️

I do a weekly shop delivery for mum and we add a few things on to the list but in the main, we go to the (small) supermarket across the road from my work on a pretty regular basis.

Failing that, youngest has got into the routine of going to Morrisons in his lunch break from work (he is on the spectrum and has got himself into the habit) and he will pick bits and pieces up too.

I found I was more likely to resort to a takeaway when food planning over a week, no idea why - boredom, rebelling, just plain awkward maybe but doing two days ahead (three at a push) seems to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Yesterday I cooked a small gammon joint in the slow cooker for today’s dinner. I’ve skimmed the very little fat off and now have lentil soup going. I’ll probably get about 8 portions which I’ll freeze for lunches in the coming weeks but I’m presuming it will be syn free?

I’ve also come across some dried yellow split peas which I must have decanted into a tin, no idea when or the thinking behind that! Do I need to soak them before use or can I just use as I would lentils etc?

Good morning.  Wishing you a belated happy birthday @Coxy11.  Not feeling it this morning but will keep plodding on.  Going out for a meal on Tuesday evening.  Think I will cut back on syns the rest of the week and try to choose sensibly.  Wishing everyone a good week.  We plan our meals weekly but not the days we are having them if that makes sense.
