Morning all,
It's raining hard here and has been raining for most of the night. We painted the hallway and landing walls last night. Finished at 10.30pm. Lots and lots of 'ladder work' and it's definitely proving to be a workout. DH in Birmingham today so he had to get up really early. I will do a second coat on the hallway walls tonight as I can reach them, then second coat on the landing will be done on Sunday. We are at the cinema again tomorrow and it's my birthday on Saturday.
I never do anything involving whole chicken breasts. Having been a family of 5 for so long it was just too expensive, so I always stretched 3 between the 5 of us. Maybe once DD and DS2 are both at uni I can revisit this as I'm loving the sound of bacon wrapped chicken stuffed with cheese mmmm.
Food today will be:
B - melon, blueberries, pineapple - some S
L - LO bolognaise, JP - 1
D - SW Szechuan pork with noodles - Free
HEA - milk
HEA - mini babybel
HEB - hi fi bar
Syns - 1
Have a good day all

Can you come and do some decorating for me @Coxy11?? I've had great intentions to paint my bedroom for the last two years and always find some excuse to put it off. Now that the weather is changing I might start on the wardrobes and have a good clear out and build myself up to it
WFH today and enjoying the peace and quiet!
Today's plan:
B - toast (HEXB), banana
L - pea and ham soup
D - chilli with rice - it's loaded with veg but may have some tomatoes and broccoli on the side to up speed for the day

2lbs off @Vegastare! Well done! 👏👏👏
I agree about the chicken breasts @Coxy11. They seem so big anyway that I often share one with DH. I think thighs taste better in most recipes anyway. We are eating smaller and smaller portions of meat. It's not just to save money but because, although we like the flavour, we love our vegetables.
I didn't have any salad leaves today so made a coleslaw type of thing with white cabbage for my lunch. I used cabbage, spring onion and carrot and topped with tomatoes. I mixed yogurt with mayo and lemon juice for the dressing. It was very nice and I'd definitely do it again. 😋
We're out for dinner this evening so syns will be involved in food and drinks but back on it tomorrow.
Today's EE plan -
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk for drinks, berries (S), banana (F)
L- JP (F), prawns (P), coleslaw salad (S)
D- tbc
Syns - too many! 🤣

So sad about the Queen 😢
You won’t be surprised to know that I was painting when the news came through(!) although like @bubbs I reckon it happened a lot earlier. Just sitting watching the tributes and coverage and will raise a glass once DH is home.Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0 -

Morning everyone,
Another damp start to the day here. We are meant to be at the cinema tonight after WFH but not sure how extensive a 'period of national mourning' is and what it means exactly. I remember when Diana died we were all in work the following day - I worked in Pall Mall just around the corner from Buckingham Palace and the streets were heaving and flowers absolutely everywhere - on lamp posts, window ledges, tied to railings etc. It was surreal.
Fairly light work day for me as my two bosses are interviewing all afternoon. I have some following up to do with the Mind contact to see whether that project can start at some point. Think she's too busy to call me!!
Food will be:
B - poached egg on 1 WM toast - P, 1/2 HEB (finally got some Nev!lles bread in Ts hurrah)
L - Kiwi fruit, pineapple, grapes, blueberries, cheese and tomato omelette - Mainly S, P, HEA
D - Maple glazed pork loin, green beans, broccoli, carrots - 2, S
HEA - milk
1/2 HEB - hi fi bar
Syns - 2
Have a good day all
Coxy
