Morning all. @maman both Gousto and Hello Fresh send you the recipe cards to keep, but Gousto actually publish all their recipes on their website too, so you don't have to have signed up to get some inspiration. This is the chicken curry recipe we had and the creamed coconut was subbed for coconut milk in our delivery and DH had the naan breads.
I'm a more "in the spirit" of SW follower so don't think too much about syns and in fact when I was very strict, I also found it difficult to use my syns. Didn't want to eat for the sake of eating and I don't drink that much alcohol so 🤷♀️😆
Feeling a lot better today in myself but throat still feels really scratchy so have cancelled all my presentations for the rest of the week. Means I can have a more relaxed run into my holiday rather than stressing myself out.
Actually managed some breakfast this morning of ff yogurt and bluberries and then hopefully I can have one of my salads for lunch. Dinner tonight is a vegetable goulash (another Gousto meal), which once it's cooked will leave me with a lot of space in the fridge!

Good luck for WI @joedenise and good you can now have a relaxing run into your holiday @ruby_eskimo I love the anticipation and run up to a holiday
I'm another who uses very little syns during the day, preferring to keep them for weekends but the flexibility is there like yesterday when we had the fake kebab for dinner. I like a Saturday WI too as I start the weekend with a full bank!
Today's plan:
B - using up LM red onion sausages, beans, mushrooms and tomatoes, toast (HEXB)
L - tomato and red pepper soup
D - spaghetti bolognaise, parmesan (HEXA2)
Have a good day all!0 -
What I like about SW is it gives an easy to follow formula for ensuring a balanced, healthy way of eating. We all know which foods are healthy and which should be occasional treats and counting syns helps me to do that. It also gives an insight into foods that look healthy but are full of calories like some shop bought sandwiches and salads.
If I didn't want to keep access to the app then I know I could maintain by following the 'spirit of SW' too @ruby_eskimo.
Good idea to cancel the presentations. It'll rest your throat but also take the pressure off. You don't want to go on holiday feeling stressed.
I've had a SW friendly breakfast (scrambled eggs) but we're out for lunch with friends. It's at their home so limited choice. Will report back later. 😊0 -
Well WI went better than expected - a lb loss! No idea how after the very synful Friday night alcohol and eating out both Friday and Saturday lunchtime, although I did rein it in after that. I only need 0.5lb next week to be bang on target but obviously would like a bit more to give me a bit more leeway while I'm on holiday which starts next Thursday! DH has already requested Cornish pasty for our first day!
Glad you're feeling a bit better @ruby_eskimo and good idea to cancel the rest of the presentations so you can be more relaxed before your holiday.
@Coxy11 - if the recipe is good could you post it please? Love most Greek recipes.
Enjoy your lunch with friends @maman. Hopefully the food won't be too synful and you'll be able to rein back in later if necessary.
Today's plan:
B - mushroom omelette - P; S
L - Welsh rarebit - HEB; HEA2; F; followed by bowl of fruit - S; F
D - burger, chips, onions, mushrooms, baked beans - S; F; 0.5
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - burger 0.5; couple of G&Ts or rum & ginger beer 5 or 6
Have a good day everyone.

Definitely Morrisons here too. Even DH isn't impressed with the Costa and Greggs bags so haven't bothered with them again. Bit annoyed at the weekend with having my bag cancelled on the day!
