That's an incredible increase in the price of the fish. I despair how many people will manage especially those with dietary issues like your dad. ☹️

I've never tried swordfish. I'll look out for it @joedenise. Good idea to try it in a restaurant. 

I'm going to Morrison's next week as I'm near there for the summer dance classes. I was thinking of buying more fishcakes as we're having the last from the freezer tonight. I wonder how much they'll be??? 🤔

Hope this weekend will be uneventful @Vegastare with no unwelcome visits from MIL to derail you.

Such a shame that they are the only fish your dad can tolerate. ☹️

I checked out the Morrison's fishcakes and they've gone from £4 for 2 packs to £5. That's a 20% increase,  which is way above inflation but nothing compared to the battered cod. ☹️

I know, also some scampi bites they have , Mum said they were £1a bag when they first started having it, i didn't see the price in store, looked online it's £2.49 now.

Dad likes another fish think it was dover sole in lidl, he was horrendously ill something you wouldn't think had milk in and it did!

@bubbs can you come and talk my mother into getting a cleaner please 🤣 I’m having no success and cleaning two houses is not fun!    We also visit the same shops albeit we’re in reverse - they do like their routines don’t they?😂😂

Actually keen for weigh in tomorrow as I’ve been totally on plan so fingers crossed I get a loss.  

 Quite chilly here tonight, not long until it’s soup weather! Good luck to everyone WI tomorrow x

Before she was adamant that she wouldn't have one but i think yesterday finally did it , she said she couldn't do anything else but get dinner , Yes they do like routines Jelly 😂😂

I've been looking at gammon but I can't think of boiling a joint without using the stock for lentil soup.

Bright and sunny here. Will be walking down to group for 9am, then running some errands in town. Will report back later.

Your poor parents @bubbs! Such a good idea to ease the pressure and get a cleaner in. Can't believe the price hikes, and especially unfair when you're limited to certain products.

I have a mammoth shopping list of items to get for DS2 for uni. Shame he and DD will overlap a year, as he could've had her 'kit'. The accommodation alone is £8,190 for the year and he gets £4,524 maintenance grant. First term's accommodation due on 17 Sept and it's £3k - maintenance grant doesn't hit until 24 Sept so we will need to find this. Considering selling a kidney....

Pleased to report a 0.5lb loss this morning. I also won the raffle (again!) which today was recipe and ingredient for potato and spinach gnocchi. I got maris piper potatoes, spinach, passata, tomato puree, bulb of garlic, fresh basil leaves and 6 eggs. Not bad for £1! Unfortunately I walk to group so had to lug it around the town with me afterwards as needed to go to the library, the bank and get a paper.
