    Morning everyone,

Bit grey here atm so hoping it cheers up a bit as I have shorts and vest top on! Trying to keep my tan going lol!

Thanks for update on your parents @bubbs. Not surprised that DMum wants next week over with so she knows what's what. Hoping the change in meds will help DDad to sleep too xx

Hugs for your DMum too @beanielou

@maman it was just the regular sweet chilli chicken recipe from SW best loved recipe book. Nice and easy and very tasty.

I'm going to call the GP surgery today to see if my blood results are in. Will then know if I need a supplement or whatever to keep me sane! @Jellybaby I am textbook right in the range for meno but don't want to put all my symptoms down to that as might be something else entirely. We shall see.

    Food today:
    B - grilled bacon, mushrooms, 1 slice WM toast - P, S, 1/2 HEB
L - lo fried rice, peas, ham, egg, cherries, strawberries, grapes - P, some S
    D - gammon steak, 100g Aldi french fries, egg, baked beans - P, 6
    HEA - milk
1/2 HEB - hi fi bar
    Syns - 6

We are at the cinema tonight (finally) seeing the Elvis film. Looking forward to a night off from painting!
    Have a good day all

Morning all.  Good to hear that your parents have a good GP @bubbs - fingers crossed the morphine helps your dad (not only will it help with the pain but will help with the sleeping as well) and that your mum gets some answers soon.  My mum has similar issues with leg swelling etc related to her heart, but seems to be kept in check with a couple of additional tablets.

Hope your mum gets some answers too @beanielou.  As for rice and pasta dishes, I love a pasta bake full of random veg or an oven risotto using any type of rice, doesn't have to be arborio etc.

Enjoy your night at the cinema @Coxy11 and hope your GP can give you some guidance.

My GP practice have lost my request for a different prescription twice now 🙄  Will see what happens on Friday when I go to the pharmacy again - they know me in there now!  Been for a walk this morning and had ff yogurt and blueberries for breakfast.  Lunch is poached eggs on toast as we have eggs to use up and dinner is broccoli pesto pasta (again have broccoli to use up!)

Hope everyone has a good day - time for coffee now!

    Syns - LTL mayo 0.5; flour 4.5; sausages 2

Back later with result from WI!

Just typed out a post and lost it!   Was only saying I'm meeting a friend for lunch then out with family for curry tonight.  Looking forward to both and will try and make good choices.

Hope all the parents get help and support quickly and WI goes well @joedenise

Overcast here and sun not due to show its face until this evening. Temperature is still mid twenties though.😊

    🤞🏼 you don't gain this morning @joedenise.

Good idea to check exactly what's causing your symptoms @Coxy11, hope you get your results and some advice. My DH gets a swollen leg soon after getting up @bubbs but his is caused by a damaged/varicose vein. He's been checked out for DVT but fortunately it's not that. GP has referred him to a consultant but says they're unlikely to do anything about it as it's considered cosmetic and may not  give long term success.

You're being very mse @ruby_eskimo. I love using up stuff. Delighted that I got 12 portions from the veggie chilli this morning, especially as everything in it was from the store cupboard and bits of veg from the fridge/freezer. This time, as well as red beans and chickpeas, I added a cheap (Aldi) tin of baked beans including the sauce (usually wash it off). I'm sure it will be fine with all the spices. It does mean some free food in there but it's nothing compared with all the veg and protein in the other pulses.

I've become quite a dab hand at making seafood sauce for prawn cocktail lately @Vegastare. I use LTL mayo so interested to know how yours turns out with fromage frais and yogurt. I add a squirt each of tomato puree, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice plus some pepper or paprika.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA1 milk for drinks, fried eggs (P), baked beans (F)
L- Pret protein pot with smoked salmon and egg (P,S), small JP (F)
    D- SW Bolognese (P,S), spaghetti (F), HEA2 Parmesan
    Syns- 0

I actually had a small loss of 0.5lb so happy about that.  Really need to try and lose as much as possible this month as we are off to France in September for the month!

Yes we got a call from the garage to say the motorhome is ready!  We're collecting this afternoon and taking it straight to our usual garage for it's MOT - which run out at the end of June!  So once DH got the call this morning he was straight on to our usual garage to see if they could fit it in - we usually need to book quite a while in advance but they're going to squeeze us in as we are regulars!  So hopefully it will pass and we'll be able to collect it either tomorrow afternoon or Friday morning.

That's great news @joedenise, both on the loss and the motor home. 😁👏👏👏

If you don't have lemon juice then add some wine vinegar @Vegastare. I suppose even a small splash of ordinary vinegar would work. Go easy on the puree or it will be really orange! Or you could use a little ketchup as that would cover the tomato and the vinegar. 🤔 I always keep a bottle of Aldi lemon juice in the fridge. I like adding it to squash to limit the sweetness.
