Morning all, weather not looking promising at all at the moment.  We've been forecast with the possibility of some rain but it doesn't look likely to be honest, well certainly not at the moment.  Have decided I'm doing my big shop for the month split between different shops and of course the shops are all in different directions!  So today it will be Tesco and Aldi; tomorrow will be Iceland and Morrisons and Wednesday will be Sainsbury!  I could do Sainsbury tomorrow as it's in the same town as Iceland and Morries but it's just over the road from where I go to group so Wednesday is more convenient really.

I have quite a long list so definitely not going to be the cheapest week for shopping!

    Today's plan:

    B - weetabix, milk - HEA; HEB
L - stuffed peppers with vegetable couscous topped with a little mozzarella - S; 6
D - sea bream, air fried new potatoes, petit pois, followed by nectarine - P; F; S

    HEA1 & 2 - milk
    HEB - weetabix
Syns - vegetable couscous (from France) 2.5; mozzarella 3.5

We've got a selection of fruit to have during the evening - cherries, raspberries, strawberries, red, white and black grapes may well have them in a dish with some yoghurt!

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all,

    You too @beanielou :)

WFH today and not much doing although a meeting has just gone in for 2.30pm, whoop!

    Food today:
    B - melon, grapes, strawberries - F, S
L -  ham, salad leaves, tomatoes, pickles, kiwi, pineapple, cherries - P, S
    D - pasta bolognaise, parmesan - P, HEA
    HEA - milk
    HEB - hi fi bar
Syns - Aldi lentil curls 4.5

I've fried off onion, carrot and 5% beef mince and have put into the slow cooker with passata, courgette and garlic for our bolognaise base. I used 750g of mince, so I'm hoping to have half left to freeze. I drained the mince and was shocked at what was left - I'd normally just bung it all in, so will look to do that again going forward.

Small amount of homegrown cherry toms (4) and some lettuce leaves from the trough for lunch. Not buying either at the moment so saving a few pennies there.

    Have a good day all

Let's hope we all can have a good month @beanielou. 😊

    That's a good loss @ruby_eskimo and 🤞for a new number next week. That's always a great boost.

I'm not feeling any thinner so not hopeful for WI but there's a few days left yet so I'll just plod on. I have a dance class tonight so a bit of Body Magic might help. 🤔

My shopping list was longer than usual this week too @joedenise. Some was extra things for visitors for lunch but this week's list is already growing. I've run out of a few things but I'm sure I can manage until Friday. I am quite a disciplined shopper but it's better to stay out of the shops if I can.

I hope you can stretch your Bolognese @Coxy11. I find having that in the freezer is an ideal HM ready meal. I redid my freezer inventory yesterday as it was looking a bit of a mess because I try to cross things out as I use them. It was quite accurate actually but it was a nice cool task on a hot afternoon.

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, fried eggs (P), baked beans (F), HEA milk for drinks
    L- cold chicken (P), 2 potatoes (F), fried vegetables and pickles (S)
    D- veggie chilli (P, S), brown rice (F), cottage cheese (P)
Syns - None planned but might have a SW friendly snack if I'm hungry as dinner is early.

Good menu again @Vegastare. Well done for fitting in some Speed with your lunch.

When do you plan to have your WI at home? It's a good idea to stick to the same day and time every week, wear the same clothes. That will give you a better comparison. 🤞

I'm quite disciplined when I go shopping too @maman but it's just my list seems to be longer than I'd like most weeks!

I really need to sort my chest freezer out as it's getting extremely full!  I try to organise it by using separate carrier bags for different foods:  sausages, burgers, chicken breasts, chicken thighs etc.  HM ready meals tend to be on the shelf at the end or in the baskets at the top.  Although the baskets also hold things like single portions of ready meals,

Trouble is it's too warm to do the chest freezer with it being outside - I like to do it on a cooler day so I can just put the bags into boxes and cover with an old duvet to keep cool.  I can empty it, defrost it and refill in in about 40 minutes as long as I don't need to carry everything through to the garage which has a concrete floor so obviously much cooler than anywhere else!

Inside freezer is better and easier to organise!  Veg in top drawer, things for this week's meals, bottom drawer for fish and fruit.

Definitely a good plan for today @Vegastare.  Does your DH have the same as you or does he expect you to cook him something different?  My DH eats the same meals but also tends to eat cheese sandwiches between meals - I'm sure it's boredom rather than hunger though as his meals are certainly big enough!  He eats far more now than he ever did when he was working - doesn't make sense really.

No he is very good eating what I have with a minor tweak here and there ie more tatties sauce bread etc....he loves toasted tea cakes  with butter and jam...he is not really a cake or pie person...you mention cheese....nightmare today he has eaten so much cheese I barley had 30grams for quiche tonight.  Plus he is forever buying fruit - loves all the summer fruits.  I saw a jar of olives in the fridge with a odd few floating around having them like sweeties with a lump of cheese - making a sandwich would be too much effort.. he is very active and basically not a couch potato - but he loves raiding the fridge.  He is encouraging to me though bless him.  Just baked him a baguette ( part baked sort) to have with his dinner.

Maman I thought Thursday as still on those meds last Wednesday.

    Have a good evening

That's good then.  Bit like my DH with the extras then although he will make himself a sandwich or do some toast.

You know you can have olives if you like them - they're 1.5 syns for 8 (as long as they are in brine not oil!).  They are 2.5 syns if they're in oil so still not very high.  We don't have them very often but occasionally I'll buy a jar and then have some on a salad.
