Morning all,
That's good @Vegastare but you'd put LF (low fat) which definitely isn't syn free. I've never heard of making free gravy like that @bubbs! I've done onion gravy like it but never heard of adding mushy peas but to be honest I can't be bothered with the faff! I think if I was bothered about gravy then I'd make a whole load and freeze in portions so as not to need to do it regularly!
My DH is like yours @maman - he's not a bad cook and will have a go at anything. Fry ups are his speciality though! In fact I can't remember the last time I cooked one!
Taking my friend over to Dunelm's this morning as she needs to get some curtain poles. She had ordered some from Amazon but they are useless and have just bent without the weight of curtains on them! She was going to go by bus and train but there's another train strike today and it would take nearly 3 hours each way by bus as the bus from here doesn't connect with the one to the next town and there's over 1/2 hour wait! And the same coming back. that time wouldn't even include time in the shop!
Today's plan:
B - Fry up with sausages - P; S; F; 2
L - LO Spanish rice - P; S; F (chorizo counted yesterday)
D - Spag bol - P; S; F; part HEA2
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - parmasan
HEB - none planned
Syns - sausages 2; couple of rum and ginger beer 5
Have a good day everyone.

Morning,
Another lovely day in store by the looks of it, it was so warm yesterday afternoon. The Quorn chilli was a hit, plus DS2's gf is veggie and think this is the first time she's eaten with us at home.
Glad you have the conversation with your DDad @bubbs. My DDad does nothing for himself either - can just about make a cup of tea, definitely a generational thing! Hope your parents have a better weekend xx
WI for me this morning. The group has amalgamated into one 9am session with a temp consultant (used to be 8.30am/10am). I will walk down shortly. Am taking overnight oats with me and my own mug as they have those enamel camping mugs which put my teeth on edge!
Back later.

Denise i saw t on a sw page, the mushy peas thicken it, i made it once and i enjoyed it but it's easier to use bisto best 🤣
Coxy, when mum wasn't well the other week she said she wasn't having tea, if dad anted something put the chips in the oven, cook an egg and get some ham out the fridge, guess what he never had anything 😂 mum said won't hurt you to put a few oven chips on a tray 🙄
Well i lost but still !!!!!! off i didn't lose the 3 i put on for no reason, 1 1/2 off

That's so frustrating @bubbs. Hopefully with another good week you will shift that other 1.5lb and some more too! Perhaps it's a bit of water retention because of the heat.
Just back from shopping with my friend - couldn't get all the curtain poles she wanted but at least she managed to get one for her bedroom and one for the French doors which is where her work desk is - she works permanently from home apart from one meeting every couple of months where she has to go in the office. She also managed to get a couple of smaller blinds for the smallest bedroom and the bathroom.
The nearest SM in the same shopping area is M&S so popped in there and picked up some fruit and yoghurt. Was quite surprised how reasonable the prices were and because I only bought what I needed it probably didn't cost me as much as it would have done if I'd gone to Tesco!

Maman
will look at Hairy Bikers recipe...could go in crockpot maybe in winter. DH keeps telling not to worry about elecy oven but I do, so will try and use crockpot more in winter. He tends to be away 2 -3 nights some weeks and it used to keep me on track as would make something to last couple days in crockpot, just adding a different speed food to it etc.
Bubbs
funny can remember that gravy from class but it added curry powder to make curry sauce.
B 1 weetabix grated apple blueberries rasp FF yoghurt
L 2 egg omelette with mushroom and Laughing Cow light, salad tom beetroot.
D breaded chicken (whole bread crumbs) egg white seasoning(veg oxo) SW home made chips green beans/sweetcorn
Another slice watermelon.
HEA Milk
HEB 1 weetbix 1 nevilles wh bread (to coat my chicken)
Syn Laughing cow L 1.5syn plus thinking will have glass wine 5 syns or good G&T instead. as have Tesco low tonic water.
I use the low salt veg oxo as seasoning sprinkle it up in breadcrumbs.
P.S am I right Gordons gin is low...used to have a previous SW leader who spent half her time telling you how to make the best of your syns with alcohol ....think she turned the whole class off wine and on to spirits.....she was quite a lassy

Another wee half off for me this morning. Definitely the world cruise route I’m taking 🤣
Hope things have calmed down a bit for your mum @bubbs I’m having similar issues with mine and have had to bite my tongue this morning!
Enjoyed the Scotch eggs last week so bought more LM sausages when I was out this morning and will make them tomorrow when I’m batch cooking a few things for the freezer.DS is away on holiday so can please myself until Thursday.
Today’s food:
B - f/f Greek yoghurt, strawberries, raspberries, nectarines, coffee
L - ham salad sandwich at mums (wholemeal bread but forgot to check brand), coffee
D - spicy meatballs in tomato sauce, spaghetti, Parmesan (HEXA2)
Syns - a couple of G & Ts0 -
Well done on your losses @Jellybaby and @bubbs. We always want more but any loss counts. 👏👏👏
AFAIK @Vegastare, all brands of gin are the same. 3 syns for a single measure. Tonic can vary. The genuinely slimline ones like Schweppes are syn free but those like Fever Tree have some syns.
You'll have to syn the slice of Neville's bread (3?) as you've already had your HEB in the Weetabix. ETA - Sorry, just read you only had 1 Weetabix. 👍
Glad to hear the chilli was a success @Coxy11. Having the GF to eat with you is an excellent reason to have some veggie meals in the plan. 👍
Shopping trip wasn't a complete failure then @joedenise. I do hope your friend can return the Amazon curtain poles. I think you can buy occasionally from most shops if you're disciplined. Aldi were out of meringues yesterday so I went to Waitrose. Probably more expensive than some places but it saved me time and fuel going anywhere else.
I'm not 100% sure of today's syns but have tried to make wise choices. DD2 and SIL have been here for lunch. I made a lasagne to my usual SW friendly recipe but didn't weigh the cheese. I don't think I overdid it though.
We had lasagne and salad and then a deconstructed Eton Mess. I skipped the garlic bread and meringue and had FF yogurt with fruit instead of cream.
Wine syns were consumed but they're allowed at weekends. 😉
I had scrambled eggs on toast with tomatoes for breakfast. If I'm hungry, I have plenty of SW friendly cooked meat and salad stuff to snack on later but doubt we'll want a proper dinner. 🤞0 -
Well done on the losses @bubbs and @Jellybaby. I STS which I'm chuffed with as came back from hols with a 3lb gain, so obviously did something right this week.
Yep @bubbs sounds like our DDad's are brothers from another mother!
Glad you got to help your friend @joedenise. I just popped into M&S and they had galia melons (large ones) for £1 so I grabbed one. They were £1.80 in Sains this morning so I left them there.
Is it meat lasagne you make @maman? I could eat veggie quite happily once or twice a week and DH even said he would be up for that today, so I am going to hold him to it. He put on 8lb on holiday but it was mostly beer-related.
Food today:
B - overnight oats, FF vanilla yog, cherries - HEB, 1
L - egg fried rice with peas and a slice of parma ham (chopped) - 1
D - LM red pepper and chorizo sausages, frozen mixed veg - 2
HEA - milk
HEA - mini baby bel
Syns - hi fi bar plus 4 = 7 total
Was going to have an M&S burger for tea as we had a pack of 2 in the freezer. Just used the app and they are 14.5 syns each so DH can have them! TBF they were virtually all red on the traffic light system so I knew they'd be bad.
We are going to friends this evening but I am driving, so only pepsi max for me or maybe some fizzy water.
Have a good evening all,

Well done on your STS @Coxy11. You've done really well to see off your holiday gain so quickly.
👏👏👏
I'm sure you've helped your DH to start losing his as well.
No, it's not a veggie lasagne but it's close! 😉 I used my Bolognese sauce from the freezer. I make 8 portions with just 250g of mince, the rest is veg and a handful of red lentils. You could easily substitute Quorn. The cheese and white sauce uses most of 2xHEAs. The only syns are in the cornflour to thicken the sauce.
Enjoy your evening. Good to hear you feel up to visiting friends. 🤗0
