Morning all.  Well done on the loss @beanielou and you have my sympathies @bubbs - hope the antibiotics work their magic soon and it doesn't turn into full blown cellulitis!

Had to give up work at 2pm yesterday as I couldn't focus anymore with the heat 🥵  Was about 38 in our home office and despite drinking about 4 litres of water I was starting to get a little bit of heat stroke I think.  Didn't sleep very well and it's already 27 here and it's not even 9am.  Not sure how long I'm going to last today but have a few meetings I can't get out of.  Had the same breakfast as yesterday (scrambled egg with fruit on the side), lunch is another picky plate and dinner will be sweet and sour tofu - the sauce is already made, I just have to add tofu and cook some rice, so very little actual cooking required 👍

Right I'm off to drink some more water, hope you're all keeping cool and hydrated.

Hope the meds have kicked in @bubbs and you feel better today @ruby_eskimo

Well done on the loss Beanie

DS ended up eating out yesterday and didn't want anything when he got back so I've got leftover meatballs for lunch - yum

    Today's food:
    B - strawberries, nectarines, pineapple
    L - meatballs, spaghetti
D - chicken, salad, Jersey Royals, boiled eggs and pickles

Have a cool and hydrated day everyone!

Afternoon all, it's definitely very hot out there!  We went down to my friend's again to pick up some of her pot plants as she's moving on Monday and the removals firm don't want to take them - never heard of a removals firm refuse to move pot plants.  My sister moved from London to Glasgow and her removals company were happy to take hers.  Temperature was reading 38.1 for the outside temperature on the way home.  It was a cool 16 inside the car with the air con on!

It feels fairly cool in the living room as we left all the blinds closed while we were out.  Having said that the temperature is still 25 so it's not really that cool - just feels it in comparison to outside.

Well done on the loss @beanielou; the weight's coming off slowly but surely which is of course the best way as less likely to go back on.

Hope the leg is feeling better this morning @bubbs.

    Today's plan:

    B - kedgeree - P; S; F
L - corned beef and piccalilli sandwich - HEB; 5
D - gammon, potatoes, carrots (all done in pressure cooker), green beans & peas - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - low fat spread 2; corned beef 2.5; piccalilli 0.5.  May well have a lolly later as well.

Hope everyone is keeping cool and well hydrated - just make sure you keep out of the sun if you need to go out.

Still baking hot here too. We had a shower of rain earlier but it didn't last long or do much to affect the temperature.

I've been out for lunch today but I don't think many syns were involved. Best of all, I stuck to drinking water! 😇 I just had a single course and then a cup of tea. I am getting increasingly disillusioned with eating out.  I had,

HERB CRUSTED HAKE 21.95 Spinach Purée, Sauteed Potatoes, Asparagus & Radish Salad (gf)

That's what the menu said. It was a small piece of fish on top of a few slices of new potato with some slivers of raw asparagus and a sliced radish, all drizzled with this green puree.

It was tasty but not substantial. Any syns would have been in breadcrumbs and whatever was in the puree along with the  spinach. The potatoes were just sliced. If they'd been fried, it wasn't for long. The prices are getting silly. Pre Covid/Inflation that would have probably have been about £15-£17.

Fortunately I'd had a fry up for breakfast (ham, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms) so I wasn't starving. I'll probably feel hungry later so I'll have a small JP or similar. DH had 3 courses so I know he won't want anything.

Back on plan properly tomorrow. 😊

I feel the same about eating out now @maman.  It's difficult to get anything SW friendly and then it isn't very good and also very expensive for what it is.

Definitely a good job you'd had a fry up for breakfast.  Think you might have been hungry with just that!

    Evening all

Well it's been a balmy 40 here since about 11, when  picked DH up at 6 was still 40 😫😫 even the loo seat/carpet is hot!

Legs are aching like**** fill your own word in 🤣 didn't help that at lunchtime, hottest part of the day we got evacuated because of a gas leak,2 fire engines , cars the full shabang! So i had to waddle down the rd 😂

I had scotch egg and apple for breakfast

Picky plate for lunch and watermelon

Ham salad, hexa and b for tea.

Been worried as not been able to get hold of Mum phone (landline) just keeps going to voicemail, so messaged 2 sisters and they not spoken to her either, so was getting really worried, She never has mobile on, but i tried it tonight and she had as she knew something was wrong with the phone,  All the buttons are working she says and the answerphone but there are no messages, i said there should be as i left one!

Of course she is with talk talk and no phone number to ring, she does not do internet so my other sister is trying to sort it out for them
