The marinaded salmon and prawns sound nice and bonus being low syn.  You'll have to let us know if they are worth the full price - I often find that I'm happy with something when it's reduced but wouldn't bother if it was full price IYSWIM!

The hot smoked sweet chilli salmon was lovely but I don't think I'd pay full price!  The pack is part of the 3 deli items for £8 offer but the one I picked up yesterday was marked at £1.50, presumably as it was on the use by date.  Have another couple of packs in the freezer - love a bargain  :D   oh and it's 1 syn for the whole pack not the half I thought but still worth it!

Have a good day tomorrow @ruby_eskimo. It's great to be going to an outdoor performance with guaranteed fine weather. 😁 Oh, and well done on your loss. 👏👏👏

I'm another that loves a bargain. That's why we're on mse and also disproving the myth that eating healthily has to be expensive. 😁👍 I love those packs of prawns marinated in garlic and parsley but, at almost £4 for what's just a snack, I only buy them yellow sticker or a rare treat.

Fortunately, the front rooms of our house are cool as they're North facing so there's always somewhere comfortable.

I bought a pack of cooking bacon for 75p for 500g in Sainsburys. It was made up of really thick slices so I've diced it into lardons and frozen in meal sized portions for carbonara type pasta or the sausage casserole I'm doing today. It's better than opening a pack of bacon.

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), HEA milk for drinks
L- ham (P), potato (F), fried veg and pickles (S)
    D- sausage casserole (P, S, F), pasta (F)
    Syns - Aldi sausages 1

Good news for us!  DH phoned about to see what's happening with the motorhome and apparently it was repatriated last week and is in a fairly local garage - about 20 miles away and when he phoned them they were surprised that we hadn't been told that it was with them so we're going down there tomorrow to pick up some of the stuff from it.

There's a bag of dirty washing in the garage for a start so that means more washing to do sometime this week!  There's also some food which will need to come home and be frozen or used - we only left stuff in it which would last until at least mid July not knowing when we'd be able to get it.

Hopefully they'll be able to give us an indication of when we're likely to get it back so we can sort out going away in it - I've already cancelled our holidays that we had booked with it because if I hadn't we'd have lost our deposits and don't want to do that!

We always cut up the ends of the bacon that DH makes into lardons - they're just so useful in various dishes for added flavour!

I obviously missed the news about your motor home when I was away @joedenise. Did you break down? Hope it wasn't an accident? 🤔

It was a minor accident @maman.  I'd got out of the motorhome to get a ticket for the car park and DH edged forward but as he did a rising bollard came up which he couldn't see - it broke the bumper which DH picked up and put into the cab!  The cross members behind bent and went against the radiator but didn't damage it.

The worst thing was the nightmare getting home!  I won't repeat it but suffice to say we were in a hotel overnight without restaurants nearby and all the hotel did in the way meals was jars of microwave meals!  So we ended up with a jar of cassoulet and a small glass of wine!  Reminded us of baby food and certainly not cheap.

We left the following morning at 9.45am and didn't get home until 12.45am the following morning!  It was a nightmare journey which I wouldn't want to repeat.

Oh how awful @joedenise . Glad it was only a minor accident but what a nightmare getting back. And hardly French cuisine at it's best! 🤣

I'm another with plenty of appetite despite the weather. Really enjoyed the sausage casserole. 😋 Funnily enough though, in Turkey we were rarely hungry enough for dinner before about 9pm and then we only wanted something light. Probably because of all the bread. I have a decent lunch here but it's usually SP. Today there was just one potato in my hash.

Well @beanielou. Much better than you thought. 👏👏👏

It's still baking here @bubbs. We had air conditioning in our apartment but it plays havoc with my sinuses so better without it.
