Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2022 - 2nd Quarter

Hello
Well done on the losses.
Weigh day minus - 2 1/2 lbs please Brambling.
I managed 2 hilly walks,1 swim and some resistance training this week. In addition to all the blummin weighing and tracking I’ve been playing with timings of meals to see if that makes a difference.Onto week six and the plan is: find my yoga mat, rescue the rebounder from under the clothes mountain, try to eat breakfast a tiny bit later each day and push my main meal back a tiny bit to eventually loose the supper. 😱 I’m not sure how I’ll get on with that, my head doesn’t like it when I say I’m going to do intermittent fasting! I’ll start slowly and perhaps it won’t notice.Todays planBreakfast: yoghurt, fruits of the forest and too much peanut butter; 1 coffee with cream and 1 with a little milk
Main meal: peri peri halloumi, roasted peppers and zucchini, feta crumbles and a side salad
Supper/ dessert: sf jelly and yoghurtOld Style Weight Loss Challenge 2025

2nd quarter - 6lbs 🥈3rd quarter -

Hello all - especially @BramblingI've been following this thread for the last month and was going to wait until the beginning of Q3 to join - but what the heck! Please could I join now?I'd like to lose about 3 stone altogether. (I'd like to lose it all in Q3, but perhaps that's a tad unrealistic...
) Like many on here, I've got an underactive thyroid, so it can sometimes be a challenge to lose anything at all. So I'm going to take a fairly laid back approach and aim for maybe 1-2lbs a week? Even with dietary wobbles (I already have plenty of the other kind!) that would mean I can hope to be in reasonable shape by the end of the year.
So maybe -6lbs by the end of this quarter? Then 15-20 lbs each in Q3 and Q4? Anything over 15 would be gravy (low-fat, of course!)I did well with Slimming World, but then lockdown. On the downside, I put a fair bit of it back on. On the upside, I'm still just over a stone lighter than when I first went. Of course, I could go back but I'm not working now, so the fees would be a stretch as the cost of living starts to rocket. My motivations are a BIG birthday next year, which I'm hoping to celebrate with a BIG holiday, and a picture of a suitcase. I went on holiday to France with DD in 2019 and we shared a suitcase. When we got to the airport, she took the case because she said it was too heavy for me. I was horrified when it was weighed and I realised that the amount by which I was overweight was more than the suitcase I had trouble handling! It still is - just! So... SUITCASE!!

Welcome Basketcase 👋 smaller clothes also means a lighter suitcase 🙂 there's no reason why you can't follow SW on your own, I don't think it's changed

Another STS.
Amazed not a gain given a holiday where I had cooked breakfasts, packed sandwich lunches and 2-course dinners (always with calorie-laden desserts). It was, however, a very active holiday.5 -
Wow! there are some impressive numbers here! Not sure I'll be able to keep up - but as long as I get there in the end I'll be happy.Well done on the STS @General_Grant . On holiday food, I'd call that a win. (And, if it was a very active holiday, maybe you've gained some muscle, which weighs heavier...)Thanks for letting me play, @Brambling - I've dug out my old SW folders and some of the books. I've also updated the weight loss spreadsheet I invented on Excel. I'm discalculic, so it's probably far more detailed than most people would want, but it means that I can track my progress more easily.I've got the figures for:
- Current weight
- Weekly loss/gain and Total Loss
- Steady weight loss figures at 1lb, 1.5lb, 2lbs
- Interim Targets: Body weight %ages, BMI (with a formula to change it as weight drops)
- Progress against targets
Plus I highlight things like the months/targets etc differently so I can see where I am more easily. It sounds complicated, and it probably would be overdone for most people, but my perception needs all the help it can get!Yesterday:- Breakfast - Cereal, 50ml SS milk + 200ml Cashew milk, pot of tea
- Lunch - Smoked salmon, boiled egg and green salad with FF French dressing
- Dinner - half portion of lemon chicken with steamed rice
- Snacks/treats - none
- Drinks - diet Coke/water

I understand your tracking process. I use tables in Word to count calories and macronutrients (using the sum formula function) and transfer those totals to an Excel file and then average over rolling 3 and 7 days - so I can go over target some individual days without beating myself up about it as the colour coded averages alert me to problems and I can cut back or increase (eg for protein or fibre if I'm not having as much as I aim for). My BMI is actually OK (22.1) but I want it to move a little further south.4 -
Presumably your tracking's more tailored and/or sophisticated than FitPal or similar? What would you like your BMI to be? It sounds like you don't have too much to lose. From previous experience I start to look a bit haggard if I get below 21.5 - my face becomes a bit skeletal, even if my hips don't!A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!
