Hi Brambling,
Can I try again, please? I was rubbish during the last quarter but I would like to try again to lose a stone.6 -
Thank you Brambling for the new thread.
Please put me down for 14lb5 -
Here we go again.
At least I know I will do better than last quarter, because it couldnt be worse.
I will aim for six pounds off please, Brambling.6 -
If I can ever face food again after last nights greasy meal followed by a truckload of chocolate almonds (my birthday) the plan is...
Bacon butty. Grapefruit. raw carrots and cabbage.
Bolognaise.

Happy belated birthday 🥳 Honey
Good intentions went out the window today thanks to the local garden centre sending my sister and I vouchers for a free hot drink with a piece of cake 😬 and very tasty it was too and the planned healthy meal to go with my steak ended up as chips - oops sack cloth and ashes for tomorrow

@Brambling
Can you log me as needing to lose the same 7 pounds I was aiming for last quarter please?
Q1 certainly didn't go according to plan. I didn't lose the 7 pounds and I didn't lose the 5 pounds that I needed to rid myself of to make the 7 pounds get me to the "half way through a stone" point.
So what went wrong? OH is still a good cook and hasn't helped by thinking that pasta followed by pudding is a healthy low carb diet. I haven't been eating enough salad and other veg. I have been comfort eating due to stress of job and family. And comfort drinking as well - you know....just 1 small glass...oh maybe another.
But I'm now 12 days/4 weeks away from not working with my current employer (unless they change their minds....unlikely) and am downgrading my future job requirements so as to be able to better manage my finances and life.
I'm going to try to go back to what I was doing a year ago when I actually made some progress on my weight - carbs should be full fibre ones like oatmeal, brown rice. Alcohol should be kept to a minimum, perhaps restricted to weekends only (but if one is not working, then when is the weekend??). Salt shouldn't be used or as little as possible, and that means no bacon or ham. And drinking lots of water, either straight from the tap or in the form of a healthy herbal tea - goodness knows there's enough variety in the cupboard!! And most importantly I think is to get the OH on board with it all as well.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
