Opened account this morning.  Transferred £1 at 11.25 to test that the transfer was set up properly.  That went through in minutes.  Set up transfer of £20k.  Still not arrived.  Chase tell me alternately that transfers are delayed and taking time to go through, and that there may be a problem and I need to get the Faster Payments ID from the sending bank (which I have, but Chase haven't asked for it again since I got it from First Direct).  I think they are a bit overwhelmed but a bit of consistent messaging would be reassuring...
Y my £5 got there in a blink but I've got the follow up £20k plus in for the last few hours cyberspace, too. Bear in mind FP is close of play next day guarantee, tho'..
    1stD confirmed it's not 'held'.

I transferred a £100 at 2pm which went through within a minute. I then transferred £6k which was held up by security, and released about 5pm. 30 seconds after the release message I got a received message from Chase.

Are people transferring directly into the savings account or via the current account? Could be a factor if payments are being held on the Chase side.

Do you have to operate this account from a phone? Or can you use a PC?

    It's app only.

Probably down to the size of the payment. I stuck to £10k or less and had no issues transferring multiple payments from First Direct, but I'm an existing Chase customer and had made several transfers prior to today.
I’m with HSBC, so I’m sure the same limit restrictions apply at FD.

Did you transfer more than £10k per day?

I agree with k-Mans polite message. "Expect a few errors, timeouts, and something went wrong messages".

Yes, I did. The single payment limits are different between HSBC (£10k£25k) and FD (£49,999.99) [source], so if the daily limit at HSBC is £10k, you can send more than that from FD in a single transaction. I avoid doing so as such payments have tended to be flagged for a security call in my past experience.
Edit: looked at the wrong row for HSBC, you can send up to £25k in one payment online. Doubt the £10k daily limit is correct in that case.
