I'm probably expecting a 'computer says no' reply from Chase as I fired an email off to them.
Question, has anyone had success applying and getting this account without the relevant id. I've only got the old paper drivers license, no passport?
I can only offer up a bus pass with my photo on it, it's brand new too, ha ha!😁
    A none starter? 🤔
It's times like this when a UK ID card would be a sensible option.

In your case specifically - why not get a Driving lisence card? I know it may cost you but it would be very useful generally.

I paid for my passport renewal with chase at thebpost office and card worked fine

I suspect that the Post Office will have an agreement with the Passport Office. It is not the same as withdrawing cash on the debit card.

However, this is contrary to the earlier comment, that the post office clerk said that their card reader did not recognise the Chase card.
You cannot use a Chase card to withdraw or deposit cash at the counter (banking services), but you can use it to pay for goods and services (purchases).
I have been going back and forth with Chase on the chat via the app - they keep saying they see no reason why it should not have worked, and that it must have been a temporary glitch with the reader at that particular time - they have told me to try again and let them know if any problems.  Where did you get the info that you can't use it to withdraw cash as that goes against what they are saying to me in the chat.
So i complained to Chase via the app chat that 2 of their advisers keep telling me its a problem with the machine/card and that they clearly need more training, and the adviser came back again and insisted it should have gone through and should be a problem with my card AGAIN.  SO i asked to escalate to Complaints as clearly my message was not getting through to the first line support - once complaints investigated they confirmed what you all told me - re it wont work at the counter - and apologised for 3 different advisers giving me incorrect information - £10 compensation to close my complaint...thank you very much.

Well deserved for your persistence. I must admit, I'd have given up and left them to it much sooner.

worrying to hear that the Chase CS is going downhill. Well done to persist with a complaint, even if £10 sounds a rather mean compensation. Let's hope they now update their staff, and their website - or better still, sign up with the Post Office.

I have 4 current accounts with chase and three savings plus the round ups. So far so good my only issue is I had problems with one company accepting the account for the direct debit (general accident) and they don’t accept international transfers. As I only wanted basic banking anyway, no borrowing at all (not that I can borrow anyway) for me is nearly perfect. It just needs an IBAN to cover everything I need and the Cashback and interest right now is *chefs kiss* paying my DMP by card. Imagine the cashback on £815 monthly. Only for that payment alone it’s worth it. Ah! I linked the card to my curve so I get the chase cashback AND the curve cashback on some of the transactions 😬
TOTAL DEBT JUNE 2019: £38,233.87 Aiming debt free mid 2023. All bad debt written off / paid by January 2023. No missed payments in 2023. Only one active credit card to pay off! I DID IT 🎉

Thanks for telling me about the Cynergy account. I already opened their Easy Access account just a few months ago when interest rates were just starting to pick up and theirs was albeit very low, they were the highest at the time at a pitiful 0.84% (issue 47) so will close that and transfer it along with some more cash I have saved with their new Issue 50 Easy Access account gaining 0.36% interest.
Have a look at Atom; I received a message in my Atom account informing me their interest rate is now 1.25% which now puts them above Cynergy

Thanks, I have had accounts with Atom and although I once had a phone which became incompatible with the app after opening an account causing me to have to buy a new phone to access my account again, my current phone still works with Atom so that seems a great option. Atom must have only just increased the interest rate as it wasn't showing in Martin's pick of best Easy Access Savings last night. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/savings-accounts-best-interest/?gclid=CPbQrNzkyrMCFSbMtAodQEoAjA

Is it possible to access Chase Account using online banking. Or at least an apps that could connected to desktop like Al Rayan. Or WhatApps (not bank obviously).
Also just wonder how reliable it is the Chase Bank debit card to be used abroad ?? What I mean reliable is you could use it to withdraw cash from different ATM in many countries.
Any info will be very much appreciated.
