I'm struggling to register with Chase. App is dowloaded and working. I get stuck when they ask for a user name which uses numbers and letters and then the app appears to try and reconcile that with my bank account name, which it can't of course. Probably a simple explanation that I'm missing here. Apologies if this has already been covered a number of times.

The American version of the app runs on older versions of iOS (13 instead of 14.1) and I think the Android version is the same, this is why some people will only see the American app in the respective App Store.1 -

I'll see what Android upgrade options I have for my phone.0 -
Hi Guys, sorry if this isn't the right place....but it might let someone else know they are not on their own!On 31 March I tried downloading the Chase UK app from the chase.co.uk website, as we thought the cashback and saving account rate looked good. The link took me to google play which said "your device is invcompatible with this version".I rang them and was told I needed to be running android 8.1 or above. I'm on Android 11.After a bit of research I was told they had a list of incompatible phones and my Samsung Galaxy A10 was on that list.As I am just out of contract I asked if I could see this list on their website or any other way. I was told no, but you can ring up and ask if any particular phone is on the list.So I did some research, and rang again, asking if the Samsung Galaxy A13 was on the list of incompatible phones. This person said that they weren't aware of a list and as long as it had android 8.1 or later it would be OK. I insisted they find the list, so they went away and came back to confirm the A10 was on the list and the A13 was not.On this basis I ordered a new phone on a 2 year contract which was delivered today. After the usual mucking about transferring stuff over (the samsung smart switch app deserves an horourable mention) I tried downloading the chase uk app and on google play saw "your device is incompatible with this version".As you can imagine I wasn't best pleased.Once again I rang Chase Bank. I was told as long as the android version was 8.1 or above it should work. I explained about the list and was told they had stopped using it on 1st April. That made zero sense to me.I have made a formal complaint, but have seen similar issues mentioned on Trustpilot. My wife is firmly of the opinion she doesn't want money tied in with such a company, and I haven't told her yet about all the other problems listed on Trustpilot!

Samsung Galaxy A13 is runs 32-bit Android which is the problem (even though processor is 64-bit, it runs in 32-bit mode as the 32-bit OS has been loaded). The Chase App is 64-bit only. If you look online there are complaints about this phone not being able to run other 64-bit only apps. Whereas the A10 (at least some variants of it) run 64-bit Android. This is a general problem with device manufacturers and low end models of phone, where they do not specify they've loaded the 32-bit OS.I can understand why Chase dropped their list of compatible phones a couple of days ago. It seems multiple models are being released under the same version name, which means some models could be compatible and some not. This page could be helpful for those in search of a new 64-bit device: https://www.addictivetips.com/android/check-android-device-is-64-bit-or-32-bit/
