    I didn't mean everyone will have problems, just not to be surprised if you do, especially if a new account holder.

    App saying device not compatible even though I have android 11. Well done to those who have signed up this morning. It has been highlighted in the Daily Wail, so this morning the Chase bank server is going in meltdown I suspect.

    Its fine, as expected but for anyone wondering who doesn't know that Chase is one of the biggest banks in US and UK is owned by their JP Morgan Europe corpo which is huge in itself. It should eat every challenger and big bank for lunch once they fine tune their app.

    Another large US player - Goldman Sachs - launched their top of the savings tables easy access account in UK two or three years ago . Their current rate is now 0.7% so already behind the best accounts before this one came along.
    So once Chase have hit their targets , their rates will soon start to come back to the pack and the 1% cashback on the current account only lasts a year .

    Not showing up in my +Add. I've had my current account for a month at least since I wanted the £50 amazon voucher. Hopefully it'll open up again

    I generally found the ID/facial recognition to be highly problematic. 

    Taking a photo of the ID was a little bit difficult - it kept saying there was "glare". Then, the whole process required three tries to confirm my identification. The first try failed. I then removed my glasses and tried again, but it still failed. Finally I combed my long hair back and removed my glasses. This was deemed acceptable. Each time the identification failed, I had to reupload a new ID photo and do the facial recognition again.

    The problem is that I have very long hair but my photo ID shows me with short hair (pre-lockdowns) and without glasses (as required for passport photos). It shows you how unreliable facial recognition can be. 

    I then found the email verification problematic. They assume that you have the email address set-up on your phone. I do not. If you click on the verification link in the email but you are not on the phone, it simply tells you to open the email on your phone. Fortunately they also provide a manual verification option too. So I had to manually enter a long code sent via the email into the app (after selecting "having trouble" in the app) to verify my email. Not a big deal, but perhaps they could have made it simpler. 

    Regarding tax they asked me my employment status. I said "unemployed". They then asked me for the source of my cash. As far as I could tell, there was no option to simply select "savings". 

    Anyway, all in all, this took about 30 minutes but a little bit of faff. I am now waiting for the account to be created as they are checking all my details. The delay is probably because everyone is also now opening accounts.

    I had the same problem when navigating to the store app on my desktop pc, but doing so through my phone worked fine.

    I had the same but there is an app update - do that and it appears as an option to add a saver account

    For clarity, not everyone will experience a problem, but there is an increased chance that some users may, due to increased load following the new savings account release.

    Needless scaremongering
    Not scaremongering, it's exactly what I'm getting.....Something Went Wrong!

    Text received to say a/c open....then got constant error messages before I could get in and now I'm in and trying to add the savings a/c I've been getting the 'Something went wrong, try again' message for 15 minutes now.

    I opened mine this morning and get the account setup. Moved my savings over. The most complicated thing was all the questions from my current bank as I had to verify I wasn't being scammed...

    Once opened, you get a direct sort code and account number so you don't even need to use the current account details to pass it through (I don't know if that's common with these current-account-required accounts, I've never bothered to do one before!)
