HHI ✅
Quick vacuum downstairs✅
Clean the shower - have run out of steam now ☹️
Prep a couple of meals✅. Who knows, I might even stretch to wiping the kitchen sides properly✅Some progress, just having a cuppa then I might go and see what I have left lying around in the “craft” room, until DH finishes his work calls.7 -
PPP meeting attended and time wasted.. all futile with the EHCP in place.. pretty disgusting a bunch of stuffed shirts who have never set foot in the school are allowed to decide what the funding goes in whether that benefits Dot or not..
Girls collected..
Flowers decamped to vases..
Baby spiders (shockingly) have not sprouted a million roots overnight..
Hollyhocks are very spritely and moved to a better lit shelf.
I need to do food.. and packups and the DW and maybe have a nap.. might do food first tonight otherwise they wil be eating at 7pm again.
How did it go Valli??

Tidying/putting away in the kitchen has happened.

I have a plan to clear clutter. I'm asking myself whether an object is something I would take with me if I was moving house. If the answer is no, then it can leave this house now.Spend less now, work less later.10

Keeping everything crossed Valli xx
Feeling fragile here. DH is not feeling well again and we are both worried. Out of the blue my line manager has asked to meet with me next week. We dont always see eye to eye but I really cant think what this is about, she says its just to have a proper catch up because we havent done that for ages but I am suspicious and now racking my brains trying to work out what I have done. I could really do without this at the moment.
Cycled to work and back, made shepherds pies for tea, took washing off airer and put it away, then replaced it with more washing. A big cardboard box has been ripped up to go in the recycling and I have had a tidy around. DW is on so I really should do the pots that wouldnt fit in it.
Feet up for a few minutes first, might wait for DH to come home then I can do all the washing up in one go.9 -
A colleague and I once had a chat about whether our line manager realised that asking to see us in her office made us feel like school kids seeing the headmistress because we were in trouble. We doubted it, but it's sad that it's so universal. I hope whatever the meeting is about goes well, YL.Finished various jobs that were half done, put a load of gibble up in the attic, and brought a pile of gibble down.Better is good enough.8

Thanks for lists. I'm liking the sound of the 5min per room, surely even I can manage that - if I remember.
Hugs to all in need, seems to be a lot of illness/bereavement/worry at the moment.
My week of shocks continued at church when, in the prayers, we were asked to remember J who has just moved into a care home. J was the lovely lady I've done flowers with for years, it was her dog we walked during lockdown. I knew she was diagnosed with dementia in early lockdown - I'd rung her daughter a couple of times when I was concerned as she'd tell me that she (and the dog) were 'away in Norfolk' when I knew I was ringing her home number in Herts. She has deteriorated rapidly; I've seen her in church a couple of times if a relative brings her, and last harvest I took round some flowers for her to arrange so she wouldn't feel left out. Very sad. She's actually in the same care home that my SIL's mum is, so I know at least it is a fairly good one.
Had a really sore eye which kept me awake last night, almost certainly hay fever as I'd missed a tablet thinking the weather was due to deteriorate. Made a cuppa at my usual pre-swim time and decided that chlorine and goggles really wouldn't help, so went back to sleep again. However, since then I have:
- finished and emailed a report
- prepared paperwork for this week's assessments
- ordered lilies for Easter. Had the bright idea of ordering them from the florist in my brother's village, as next week we are away to my mum for Strictly dancer show, then a few days in Devon then to my brother for my birthday which means arriving home late on the day before Good Friday, leaving me little time to collect orders from the local florist.
- paid car tax as car passed MOT yesterday
- dug up a whole load of foxgloves from the veg bed yesterday and put them on local FB. Some taken, others spoken for.
- helped Mr N unload a couple of new fence panels. So heavy! They are locally made, good quality but we could barely lift them so will have to wait until friends visit at the weekend to lift them high enough to slot into the existing concrete posts.
- Mr N did fly duty in guest bedroom and bathroom ready for the weekend visitors.
- booked tickets for a London theatre for May, as birthday presents for DB and SIL.
- did a bit of drum practice
- filled bird feeders.
- checked/watered greenhouse.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
YL.. I'm sure if it was something worthy of concern she would have dragged you in and berated you straight away.. she probably has noticed you are stressed and not quite yourself and wants to know if she can help..
HB.. I think it is important to pass that on to the relevant people.. Being me I never had any issue being dragged into the heads office.. but I do get the feeling.
At primary school the head and I had the same name so we were besties.. I got away with murder.. in Junior school I was recognised as one of the 'somewhat neglected and unwanted' children and treated carefully and generously, I had a lot to be thankful for which I wasn't until a long time after. In secondary I was so volatile no one dared say a word.. the head included.. I wasn't horrid or unruly just stubborn, defiant and not afraid to speak my mind.. not a lot has changed really lol.
Anyway... we took Meem to Tesc0, made pack ups.. I'm just going to bed I think.. I am fed up of today.
Pixie isn't very well, she keeps saying she thinks she is going to be sick.. she hasn't been but her face is quite flushed so it may be she has a bug, there is a nasty one doing the rounds at school.. and if mine get it we will be ill for about 10 years as it goes round and round and round and round...
1 lot of laundry dried and 2 things got out to post.. FLING!!
