I rang the HA. They said I should have been told someone will contact me within 24 hours!!!! I tried the never used electric fire in the living room- it doesn't work. So, armed with You Tube and a torch, I repressurised and reset the boiler. Talk about feel the fear and do it anyway.
Then cancelled the emergency call out. Got to keep an eye on it 👀. If it happens regularly it could be a leak somewhere.
But we are warm. And I'm suddenly hungry for chocolate , cream cakes and crisps. Chips with curry sauce? Crackers and cheese. That'll be the adrenaline I guess.
Does repressuring a boiler count as flying?

Round, Brilliant! So well done! You've totally got this. And also - well done on what you did 24 years ago - people don't forget kindness and some don't get round to thanking but it makes a world of difference when they do, doesn't it.Ka, I'm so sorry you're being hounded by Matron Weightloss. I don't know why carrots don't cut the mustard as comfort eating but I wish they did.*Healing vibes* for Ionfan and Valli. Belovéd was still testing positive yesterday, more than a week since he realised he'd probably got it, so he's cancelled this afternoon's visit to the pub to watch footie with a friend who had Delta last year - the last thing he'd want is C19 again and it wouldn't be fair on the other pub customers either. He's hoping he's clear by Tuesday as he's got a dental appointment. We're both taking it easy, keeping warm, eating well and keeping fluid levels topped up while dosing ourselves with parrots. We've never both been ill at the same time before so we're rather chuffed to discover we can cover for the other when needed.Flying minimal. Someone has to clear up the scattered cat litter every day, the dog has to be walked, food cooked, things washed up and everything needed watering because we haven't had any rain for more than three weeks. So far so good.
Better is good enough.7 -
Round.. that is definitely flying, I need to reset the Hive thing.. it's a right faff.
HB .. I tested positive for 19 days, the girls were 12-15 days and OH was 13 days.. you can't just put your life on hold for that long can you? It is easy to not do pub trips and dinner out but you just have to do shopping and pick up medication.
Girls scrubbed and now needing to be fed apparently..
I have reshuffled bills and the next big purchases and repairs.. anyone got a 'spare' £10k lol.
Just ragged off all my rings. My hands are really puffy for some readon, I had noticed they were a bit weird a fwe days ago but today they are just sort and swollen today, it is really weird, I almost lost 3 fingers getting them off.. and it took a lot of hand cream to lubricate them enough.. I've even had to take off my wedding ring... I'm not happy..

Couldn't understand why I wasn't getting any warmer despite putting the heating on when I got up. Felt the radiator. Stone cold. Checked I'd actually turned on the heating....you never know at my age 😅. I had.
Went upstairs to look at the boiler. Red light!!!! Zero pressure. Stomach turns. Keep breathing.
Phoned the Housing Association. Are you sure it's an emergency? We'll charge you if it isn't! Yes I'm sure. Spoke to a very sleepy sounding woman with a small child in the background who repeated both my date of birth and my telephone number incorrectly.....confidence not inspired.
She'll send the call through to the emergency team.
It's OK. It's not the end of the world. It's a hiccup.
Yesterday I received a touching message from someone telling me how I'd helped her following the death of her 5 year old son.....24 years ago. Apparently she's often wanted to tell me. Yesterday she did. And her timing was immaculate as I've been feeling like a poor excuse for a decent human being recently. And I make mistakes but I'm basically decent.....if one person only sees the bad in me now that doesn't mean I am bad.
So I actually felt a bit better.....oh no says the fates, demons, gremlins, whatever they are, we can't have that. Zap. Broken boiler. Mwahahaha. That'll knock her back down.
Aaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhhh.
And yes I know there are much worse things could happen. But can't I be allowed a small reprieve before I drown again.
Sorry. This is the safest place to vent.
Flying? WM x 1. Brew and breakfast partaken.....luckily before I realised there was a problem, as I now feel nauseous.
🤞 I get a call out.

If not - watch whoever comes to do it then you can do it yourself (or get DS to help) next time.
And how lovely - you must have made a massive impact on her.
Sleeve 1 knitted, sleeve 2 started.

Thank you Honey Bear9 -
Fed the birds
Put out the rubbish and recycling
Clothes removed from WM and draped on airer
Pressure is dropping on the boiler again, but at least I know what to do until I can phone tomorrow during regular office hours to get it sorted. And I'll book an Annual Leave day / morning/ afternoon for the engineer's appointment.
So why do I feel as though the world is about to drop on my head? BD? Post adrenaline rush drop?
Breathe. Breathe. Breathe.
Love to all the poorlies. GWS.

ETA I forgot. I flew. I cleared all the dust off the hearth so it didn't catch fire when I turned on the electric fire. Then the fire didn't work. Pretty much sums today up really 🤣

Round you know that you are a very important part of our Flylady family and I always love your posts so forget all that nonsense about being a poor excuse for a human being. And you fixed your boiler which I am sure is way beyond my capabilities.
And Pigpen can you imagine what it would be like to have £10k in the bank that you could do anything you wanted with? I would finish the garden I think, the rest would go to pay off debts but I would also like to get new carpets for the boys bedrooms.
I have been feeling a bit flat today but a walk along the coast in the lovely sunshine perked me up. Kitchen floor thoroughly scrubbed when we got home and meatballs for tea.
It's Monday tomorrow. Sigh. I am in the office but 35mph gusts so will take the car.
See you all on the new thread x10 -
OH & I have demolished the old dead playhouse and moved several plants and binned 3 which were dead/dying/shredded by us digging.. He loves how I garden.. I reckn if they can withstand fires and floods a bit of rough handling by me wont do them in.. I moved a clematis... a star jasmine, 3 trailing fuschia and a lavender... and a honeysuckle..
Then we destroyed the playhouse... and while he tidied I came in o do dinner.. I hadnt evven finished washing my hands before his phone was out.. I told him it would be taken off him if he wasnt careful!
dinner cooked.. everyone fed..
bed time for turds.. then I can maybe start my next project.. I finished knitting a hat which was my 'take along' project so now I need a new one.. I am thinking a patchwork blanket for the grandboys.. and a ripple rainbow for grandpink.. I do still need to finish the second dr who scarf though.. and get the tassels on the first one..

I agree.. Round is marvellous and the flylady lounge would not be the same without her
I would get someone to sort the bathroom and kitchen (£800), buy a new router so OH could work without being disconnected every 10 minutes (£365).. I would pay everyones music and drama and swimming lessons (£300).. buy the summer house and get a concrete base built for it (£700 for summer house and £600 for base). I would get Dot a support dog (£1200 + £1250+ for training) and have it properly trained to help her.. and I would learn to drive so I could do school runs for DD1 when ours go up to secondary school (£a lot).. if I could find someone to sign the form lol.. Get a new fridge freezer (£2000.. I am very specific) and pay off numerous bits of nothing we have outstanding. I would also give my daughter some to move house to a decent area and a decent house not the gross place she is in now.. it is only just better than being homeless but she has to pay for the privelege.. I could spend £10k a thousand times over and get nothing for myself.
Paperwork shuffled for this week before my head implodes. I need to pay the last of Squeaks cello lessons and tomorrow I must book their ballet/musical theatre for next term.
