Morning all xx
A relaxing start to the weekend. I'm up, made my bed, brought down the laundry hamper, savoured 2 brews, eaten breakfast, and read 2 magazines, which can now be recycled. Cardboard bookmark will be recycled too. It's falling to pieces. I'll take one from the stash. Like with like is working for me. A pile of bookmarks ready to be used, no need to search 😇
To Do Today List
Shower and wash hair
Get dressed
Feed the birds
Put out the rubbish and recycling
Sort washing into loads
Set first load swishing
WUDUPA
Take care my lovelies 💜

Afternoon all,
I meant to post earlier than this.
It turns out that DH went shopping yesterday with just 5 things on a list that I gave him. He managed to miss one of the items completely, but spent nearly a month’s grocery budget with not a meal in sight. I’m seething. So this morning I have rage cleaned the bathrooms and upstairs. Every cloud, and all that.He has now gone to pick up DD from uni. We were supposed to be going together, but I’m actually secretly relieved as it looks like the traffic is horrendous. Since lockdown, I do find that I am less and less inclined to go or be anywhere busy, even in the car, and I’ve never been a nervous driver until now.
So now I have a good couple of hours to do something, I’m just not sure what.10 -

Tomorrow I need to:
- replenish flowers on front door arrangement
- do an arrangement for guest room
- last minute flying
- a bit of a report
- zumba
- help village man load up van heading for Ukraine again
- and our guests arrive for the weekend at about 5pm...........
Ukraine van is stuck in France following ferry cancellations owing mainly to storms but partly to chaos (PandO). It should arrive for Monday so we are on packing/loading duty in the afternoon, which actually suits us better.
Had a lovely lake swim this morning (visitors declined to come in), a little chilly getting out and we have had a few snow flurries since then.
Mr N and visitors walked up to get a paper and continued to the farmhouse of the bereaved friends to drop off a card. Mr N saw the daughter (older sister of the deceased) briefly as she saw him arrive and came out; her parents understandably aren't seeing anyone at present. Mr N said he just gave her a hug - what more can we say - and said he was almost in tears on the way home the grief at the house was palpable.
I've done a bit in the garden and am now interrupting some work catchup by checking up on you lot. Big well done Valli.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
The bag with stuff to go back to work is bursting at the seams...
I have been knitting today - and thinking that this is how my 'at home' days are going to be, soon - me doing stuff I WANT to do instead of stuff I HAVE to do.
I've had washing out.
Covid wise my stomach is sore from coughing, my eyes hurt and my sinuses are uncomfortable. But I am very happy.
I have stuff at work I will need to find and bring home too.
I wish I could go out - I now need a 'proper' diary (ie one that runs from Jan- Dec).Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Fayolle so funny you said that about the driving, I am the same, I used to love driving before lockdown but have lost my confidence a bit, it doesnt help that we had all those problems with the last car but now that I am working from home a bit I just dont drive as often as I used to. Oh and ouch to the DH shopping trip.
Out with my cycling group this morning, very cold. Jumped in the bath when I got home. Dog blankets washed, clean washing put away, garden path swept, downstairs windows washed and shed tidied a bit (although it needs another go). Lasagne made and eaten for tea.
Fire lit now, feeling a bit sleepy.11 -
Valli, when is it you finish ? Amazon Prime.. lifesaver.. and leg saver.. and penny saver.. stops me buying random stuff in the shop. Get Vit C too.. massive doses help.
More spidies removed from Mamma plant.. grow rooties grow!!! I have about 25 babies off it now.. and about 40 more to come off I think. The parents plant needs a good feed and repotting.

We had an enjoyable and much needed break: stayed in a very comfortably renovated cow barn, saw places we'd wanted to visit for years, and ate some excellent locally produced food and one horrible salty soup! The weather was very changeable, with lots of sunshine but also heavy snow showers on Thursday when we went to the tram museum - but at least there are indoor exhibition areas there too. DH refused all offers of wheelchairs and stubbornly kept walking, so of course he was in a lot of pain, but it did mean that he got much more exercise than usual. We did the whole trip on only just over half a tank of petrol, only paid for entry to one of the three places we visited (life or annual membership covered the others), and succeeded in avoiding temptations like cream teas and desserts, so all as economical as possible. The only things we brought home as souvenirs were two plants for the garden and a dozen freshly laid eggs
This morning I went out before breakfast to collect Rosie from the kennels, did WMx3, hung out two loads and put the light stuff to dry on the airer, took DH to the chiropodist, and went shopping at MrAl while he was having his treatment. I put everything away as soon as we got home, made a coffee and then began to feel totally grotty, as if I'd got the flu, so I've spent most of the rest of the day curled up on the sofa under a blanket. Poor Rosie didn't get a walk at all today. I did manage to roast a chicken for tonight's tea, but did double quantities of veg just in case I am not up to cooking tomorrow. LFT was negative, so we'll see what tomorrow brings - but I am definitely not going to church in case I spread something nasty around.
Bed calls now. See you on the new thread, if not before xx9 -

The works with topcashback!!! their cashback is really good.. 11%.. many pennies!
We were all the same in January when we had the plague.. absolutely freezing.. I wish we had actually had a high temp it would have been so much better than being as cold as we were.. my body temp was 34-35'C for a week.. I was so tired because of that, nothing to do with being unwell just because I was hypothermic!
I got a heated vest for christmas and I wore it constantly.
Best go pretend I like folding laundry, I have 2.5 loads on my bed!
5 rows of my hat to knit but I need to get the DPN's out and it is way too late for that!..I will end up magic looping it no doubt.
