One suggestion for a guided meditation might be Bellaruth Naparstek.  I think I have that spelt right. American and you can find the free ones on YT etc if you interview google
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

You’ve made me chuckle with the sleep meditation irritating you beyond sleep! 😉😂

How about winding down slowly - so all the sleep hygiene things of eating early, no screen time from an hour before bedtime (read or crochet / knit instead) and then using the 4:7:8 breath once you get to bed?

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time of it. When I had my long-term absence (work-related stress/burnout) I did all the things you're trying (exercise, sleep hygiene, time with loved ones). It all helped.

I got free counselling from our Employee Health Provider as well, if that's something that's open to you or might help? Oddly enough, the counsellor just agreed with me that work sounded like a lost cause and that I needed a new job 😅 It wasn't his fault the jobs market tanked the second we talked through that conclusion!

Thanks Ed, that's really helpful. My boss emailed me (need to reply today) to ask if it would be helpful to get an Occupational Health referral which I'm not convinced will be any benefit. But that email and your post has reminded me about the Employee Assistance Programme which I can access.

When I go back, I'll only have four weeks before I leave, then two weeks off before new job.

Being referred for six sessions of CBT via the NHS - very impressed at the speed it's been happening. On a wait list but said I can do any day / time to increase chances of getting something soon.

Got to sleep easily but woke during the night and struggled to get back to sleep, then struggled to get up this morning but as I don't need to be anywhere just went with it. Only got up at 8.00 which is a lie in for me!

My experience of Occupational Health was Kafkaesque (I was referred at times and for reasons that made no sense and did not help my recovery). Then again, if you're on the way out the door anyway, it might waste some precious time 😉

I wonder if your CBT will be a group thing? One of my siblings was referred for reasons relating to depression and had a classroom-based offering (Scotland).

I had the option of 121, group or course-based.

I know myself well enough to know that if something is booked I am unlikely to cancel but if I need to actively do something I am less likely to so the course option is not going to work for me.

Group might be okay but I am more convinced about 121 so went that option.  Will be video or telephone as that has less of a wait list.
