roundtuit said:Morning my lovelies xx
Today is an Anniversary for me. On 15th March 2008 I was a single parent, on benefits, I had £10 in the bank and....I wrote off my car. I didn't know it at the time but it was a turning point for me. I managed without a car for six months......then I bought my brother's father in law's car ( you still with me 😁) for £150 and started work with a Back to Work bonus the following week.
My mental health issues didn't disappear. There was no knight in shining armour waiting to rescue me. I did it. Me. I got myself from there to here. It's been a rocky road, but I've kept on keeping on.10 -
Todailies are done. And I've repotted my Peace Lily. 🤞. Note to self: probably best to do it outside next time!!!! I've never repotted a plant in my life. They usually die long before they need such shenanigans. It would be a sad irony if, having lasted this long, it now pops its clogs because I've been kind to it. I read the instructions on Google after I'd done it.... because I'm an eejit! Seem to have followed most of the instructions by accident. 🤞
Coffee now. Then steps.

aw Dizzy that must be a hard burden to carry. (((hugs)))
Clothes prop ordered from etsy. A wooden one. I've had telescopic metal ones before and they don't last (well not in my paws) so I have bitten the bullet, paid 4 x the price and bought what I hope will last. The wooden prop I have now is a bit dodgy (it's the hardware not the wood that's failing). New line up and DS's towels optimistically hung thereon.
Now to shift the bike.

Dizzy.. That is an awful thing to have happened, but sometimes those we love most are just too hard to reach.. ((hugs)) My daughters friend committed suicide at whan they were 15; 12 years later it haunts her too. Not helped by the fact the boys family blame her.. her current ex/kind of/CF/partner keeps threatening to do the same to control her because he knows it hurts her. My ex-fil did the same too, I wish they could see the hurt it causes not just those who love them but the future generations too.. it's so very very hard
Food shop done.
Dot collected from school.. she appears to have trapped wind and keeps crying her tummy hurts. So she is here.. behaving like a baboon... scranning her lunch like she has never been fed.. yep.. really poorly.
DD1's friend had her baby this morning.. the one who the hospital were scaring her telling her he was too tiny.. 8lb 8.5 ... I knew they were wrong and I haven't even seen her.. she stuck to her guns about not being induced and delivered him perfectly healthy and large this morning.. I hate that hospitals think it is ok to scare mums like this, then they wonder why people refuse to go!I bought my mother a plant.. 75p, mini purple irisesStocked up on washing up liquid.. 5L, will last about 10 years!

roundtuit said:Plan today is to bring in my steps: change the light bulb in my bedroom, put two owl biscuit barrels and two chickens (one egg holder and one ornament) on top of the kitchen wall cupboards, and put the steps back into the shed. Equals more kitchen worktop. Equals progress. 😁
Bother.

@Dizzy_Imp - sending huge hugs, it is so hard on those left when someone decides that it is their only recourse.
@Valli - I'll have to look for a new clothes prop as mine has mysteriously disappeared. I looked all around the garden on Monday and again yesterday - I even looked in the garage (the least likely place) but - !!!!!! - it's gone. Can't believe that we have a phantom clothes prop bandit in the village!
@pigpen - we've done much the same. I bought 5l of washing up liquid and 5l of washing liquid (the latter will apparently do 142 washes!). Hearty congrats to DD1's friend on her bonny not-so-wee boy!
Definitely feeling 'grounded' today - just can't seem to get going for some reason. Will go and vacuum the sitting room and make up the log burner, then at least I'll feel that I've done something productive!
