Morning lovelies
Mademoiselle you are quite right on the power of saying NO. It’s taken a long time, but I’m getting there xx
Piggers I am so cross on your behalf that your mother did that. I despise how some people speak to my children sometimes and think it’s okay because they’re ‘just’ kids. That’s why I keep them close most of the time. Not this weekend though 😉😉I’m having a weekend to myself
Birds sorted, dog sorted, DS watching TV, DD still in bed. I’m going to finish this cuppa then jump in the shower and WASH MY HAIR. There I’ve said it, so I have to do it now. If you’re reading this after 7.15, I’ll be all clean 😂
I’ve thrown a pheasant stew in the SC which will do my meals for the weekend. I’ve also wiped the veg drawer out as it was gross. Right, time for that shower x

Pigpen, squeak's greenhouse, it is well anchored down, in case a strong wind comes by? if not may I suggest it is, nothing more soul destroying, than your seedings end up a big messy heap because it has blown over.Cat are a joy! ended up going to bed last night leaving the cat flap open, as cat 3, (he shy and nervous) was out, we could see him, so we left him, it was a warmish night here, OH found him this morning, outside near the door. Cat 1 & 2 could have gone out but spent the night on the bed, so we are going to leave the cat flap open now, as they do seem to come back.Cat 2 has just brought me a pheasants feather, cat 1 arrived back in yesterday with his legs covered in think mud, I have a feeling he had been in the large pond in the field out the back he was 'encouraged' to go back out side, while I cleaned him off a bit.So farPrinted off council bill, I like that bill as a hard copy. All ironing doneKitchen doneWashed / hair done / dressedTo doMore power washing.'Grout' out the patio, where I power washed yesterday.Need to shorten a curtain, but it can wait a few days.Order new ink cartridge.Take back wood bought yesterday and get a refund, get shopping and mortar mix while out.Do loads of other small boring stuff, like get back in bin etc.Have a good day all.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Kaz.. yes we think so, it is in a very sheltered area and my garden has walls on 3 sides so doesn't get a huge amount of wind but we will anchor it more firmly. thank you xLovely and sunny here today so the washing can go out and I will clear the washing dangled around the house.
I have helped Meem empty a bag of clothes so she has a bit more space and a few more bits out of the house..
I have 1 item to post and prescritions to pick up from the chemist and I need to ring and shout at lloyds pharmacy for stealing Boogs diabetes medication.. they will feel the wrath..
shower first because I smell like a bear.. and my hair feels nasty.. not sure how I will wash it through my elbows are killing me today.
Love and hugs and all that jazz
Oh, I have Lionel this afternoon and Jazzles to collect from nursery.. I forgot.. now \\\i remembered.. and I hate DD1's pushchair.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
Almost sorted Boogs prescriptions.. I need to ring B00ts and have them dispense them and I can pick them upWork fired Meem .. while she is on sick.. I thought that was illegal but she's miffed but not wanting to take it further.
And the best news.. Twinkle does not have anything majorly serious.. the vit D and celiac results are not back yet but she has *something* wrong with her thyroid.. but none of the possible things are likely to kill her, they may be difficult to live with, but with care won't kill her.. I can live with that!
We are going to look at another secondary school for Squeak and a specialist provision for Dot... I have decided it doesn't hurt to look and if it is what she needs then it is what she needs..I have cut my toenails with the spectatorship of 3 cats.. they are so critical!
And I had a shower ..washing out next and Squeak can get her lunch.

Great news about Twinkle, pigpen - and well done on more sales! You sound a lot happier today.
I hope you enjoy your quiet weekend, asb.
I have emerged from the Slough of Despond, as I have done all I possibly can to get the church accounts to balance. I have also written my Treasurer's Report and spoken to the vicar, who is happy. Now I need to ring the auditor and arrange to take all the paperwork round to him.
DH had his second negative test yesterday so came out of isolation and took me out to lunch to celebrate. The food wasn't bad, and we had a 30% off voucher to use, but I felt very hemmed in at the pub restaurant and it was stuffy in there, so I shall suggest other roomier places in future.
After ringing the auditor and prepping lunch, I must sort all the paperwork that has accumulated in my study over the past month, and deal with the urgent stuff, including the grants application - but the vicar has given me some good ideas for how to answer the awkward question!
I am just so glad that my house was absolutely clean and tidy a month ago. It is still tidy now (except the study) and a few minutes' work will get rid of the worst of the dust. Is is sad of me to be looking forward to getting back to Flying properly? I haven't tested my new mop yet... This morning I decluttered into the Donate box 3 greetings cards of a mixed pack, which I will never use, and a large and a small stainless steel colander in perfect condition. I used to stand the frying pans on top of the colanders in my saucepan drawer, but they always fell off and it annoyed me. I have realised that my 3-tier steamer saucepan effectively consists of one pan and two colanders, so I have no need of the wobbly ones [fer-ling]
Catch up later - looking forward to the weekend xx8 -
Iona.. I am less angry and just sad now.. the angry is definitely the worst.. selling bits is helping.. I can cover the bird mesh now and the swimming lessons.. not the tap or summerhouse though.. I have a guy coming monday or tesday to fix the toilet and the various light fittings so that will make life less difficult.. I do need to wash the bathroom ceiling and clear the landing outside the bathroom so I will get that done over the weekend between dance, swimming and posting..
for now I need to package up 2 more items (that will be 4 to post) and get some food while Lionel is asleep and the next round of medication so I can do the school run.

Following our conversation yesterday about not working, thought you might like to read this ASB. https://thestorytellers.com/the-businessman-and-the-fisherman/#:~:text=The businessman and the fisherman. One day a,relieve some of the stress of his workday. Don't know if the link will work! I'll save a space for you in the beach.
I feel for you with your mum pigpen. Mine was the same, I say was even though she is still alive because she no longer knows she's my mum. She believed her gay grandchildren, she has four of them, would "grow out of it". Knew my marriage would never last, because OH does not have a degree. Well it's ONLY lasted 43 years so far. When one of my girls qualified as a Doctor, but then only married a nurse, she stopped speaking to her for months. She is, or was, a racist, homophobic snob, who treated her children awfully. She will not be missed by any of us.
Not much flying done, but the roof is looking better.
Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.8 -
Congratulations Pigpen on the many things that are falling into place for you because of all all the work you've put into getting things sorted out for your skids.ASB - time, the most precious of resources, is priceless. If someone doesn't understand that and thinks that money is more important they're not going to be sympathetic to your way of life. It's their loss. I made it my priority years ago and while I'll never be going on flash holibobs abroad or drive a Ferrari (neither of which interests me in the slightest) I live exactly the life I want to live and it's complete *bliss*. Good on you for putting your mental health and time with your kids while they're still young first. You know you're never going to regret it.Ionafan - huge congrats on getting those wretched accounts done.Yesterday I finally took the plunge and bought myself a relatively up to date, secondhand smartphone. I've spend a huge chunk of today learning how to do things on it which I know everyone else has been able to do for years but not moi. I think I've got the basics sorted at last. It's been my pet Frog for at least seven years. I'll miss that little rivetter.Planted out 19 primroses that have been on the front steps for at least a fortnight and it took about 20 minutes start to finish because I discovered that the bulb planter is exactly the right size for the little pots they came in. No digging required, just ram the thing in, twist, and drop the plant in the hole. Result!I've been working on a HUGE frog that's been hanging around for waaaaaaaay longer than 10 years and have realised that if I nibble away at it one piece of paper at a time and stop when I can't make any more decisions - it'll get done eventually and it won't place any more wear and tear on my soul. I'm so relieved I've found a workaround for it because it's been nesting in the corner of my office all that time, glaring at me malevolently.House is a bit scruffy but no-one who's here cares so I'm not going to fret about it. It'll get a lick and polish at some point over the next few days.Better is good enough.9

MTM.. My mother is the same with the gay ones and even worse with the trans one.. I can't even bebothered to discuss it with her.. would there be a discussion if they were heterosexual? no.. so their sexuality is not open for debate.. if that is who they are then so what.. they are still the same person. I don't dislike her and I do want her to be a part of our lives and she will be missed very much. She is very helpful and if we need anything she will help if she can.. but I will not tolerate her having a go at Squeak because of a disability.. it's wrong.DW loaded and finished,Dinner done and scoffedTD on1 load folded and some put away.. I even paired some socksTable and hob scrubbed.
Get me being all housified!!
I need to fill the swimming bag for tomorrow and get Dots dance stuff sorted.
Drs rang.. apparently I am anaemic.. no $h--poop Sherlock... hospital referral AGAIN for that and for thyroid stupidity.. tbh I can't see the point. Are you bleeding from anywhere.. seriously? Like I'd have not noticed in the last 30-odd years!! Are your extremely tired? .. no, I'm not tired at all.. other than the current combination of medication knocking me off my feet for half an hour after the school run.. lol. Really weird conversation... really weird..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)7
