Morning all
Hugs to you all, you are all amazing! xxx Has anyone heard from GI lately - I need someone to give me allotment shaming, before I forget where the allotment is!
It’s been a busy and frustrating week at work, left with a slightly bitter taste in my mouth about how things are going to pan out in the future. I really should remember that diligence and commitment aren’t always valued as highly as I might think they should be. DH is really struggling at work now (has been for a while) and we are having serious conversations about him taking early retirement. I think it’s that or he will self combust. I’ll support him in that decision, like he supported me when I left the corporate world for a better life - coincided with DD getting ill, so hardly better for anyone, but we wouldn’t have coped in any different way. Having had the council tax bill this week (eyewatering, according to R!ghtm00ve, it would be nearly half the cost to live in central London…), and the energy and petrol price rises, we are going to have to be really careful to just cover those costs plus food and supporting DD at uni. But his health is more important, and we will manage, unlike so many others.
Flying - minimal. I’ve folded the clean washing, might stir myself to do HHI, need to finalise a Mr M delivery (and see if I can move the slot, as DH now has to go into the office when it is being delivered).Slinky - even more minimal than the flying. Even more weight gained. I’ve resorted to trackie bottoms as my (once baggy) jeans are cutting me in half. NEED TO GET A GRIP!! Or I need Round’s Magic Scales 🤣. And on that subject- did I miss the flylady bus, or are we now saving up for petrol?
Sorry to have wittered on - like others, nobody else gets that DH might give up a well paid job for low paid happiness - or at least contentment. And that I would support it. They look at their holidays, their flash cars, their smart kitchens. Thank you for listening xx9 -
Morning all,Curtain shortenedCats sortedBeen and bought 2nd hand £5 small tall table, as I want to sell at the gate, but had nothing to put 'stuff' onI have a choice today of:-Cleaning the outside of the windows.Finishing off power washing.Grouting the patio.None of which currently are appealing to me, the weather is suppose to be bright and sunny, however there are the most black large rain clouds over head and the wind is getting up.So I think I'm staying in for the next hour and will check my tills receipts against bank account.Have a good dayBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Ive been thoroughly enjoying hoovering the downstairs!
Bit weird I know, but I havent had a hoover in years and just treated myself to new one. Bought a Henry coz he was less then half the price of the posh cordless ones and as he's deemed for commercial use thought he would be good with 4 dogs in the house.
Very impressed....my new best friend!LOL8 -
So far I have:
Changed the towels in the bathroom
Sploshed bleach down the loo
Had a shower and washed my hair
De-gorillad my legs and pits
Got dressed
Brought down the laundry hamper
Sorted washing into loads
Set towels and tea towels swishing
Fed the birds
Put out the rubbish and recycling
Changed Sweetie's seed and water
Listened to a selection of John Denver songs
Now I'm savouring my coffee. Anyone like to join me ☕
Rxx

The shredder which isn't that old but I no longer have the receipt or box has broken. Papers with address or similar details in have now gone in the depths of the compost bin.I have been for a walk with the dogs and another with DH, both times battling the strong winds.
Next I'm going to whizz the hoover round as that hasn't been done for days.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Jazee, unplug the shredder, take the box out, look at the underside where the paper would come through, I have often found paper wrapped around the bars, causing it to stop, also make sure there is not debris where the box locks in. Unplug it.2 cats fast to sleep.Salad wrap for lunchBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Fayolle when I got my current job I had to put myself forward for promotion, and it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that I would get it. I wasnt sure that I wanted all the responsibility but everyone I knew said I would be mad not to take it. I am in a good place right now with work but I have spent a lot of the last 4 years wondering if I did the right thing. DH needs to do what he feels is right for him, its lovely that he has got you to support him.
And yes I still dream of that flylady bus!
Up in good time, workout done, shower, bacon and egg butties eaten, bit of gardening done. Need to go into town, get some bits of shopping done and pick DS2 up from the station. DS2 is going out for an old school friends birthday so I have a feeling I might be on taxi duty, which is fine. I will be clutching my shopping list in the supermarket and only buying what we need.
Better go and put some clean jeans on and make myself look presentable.9 -
I'm struggling with 'seesaw' so I'm going to grab some lunch. Salad wrap for me too - thanks Kaz!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Thank you Honey Bear8 -
Checked the weather forecast
Pegged out towels and tea towels
Second WM load has just finished swishing
Been down a river in Papua New Guinea with Steve Backshall
Checked February's bank statement
Filed, recycled, added to shredding pile numerous bits of paper.
I now know how much my C Tax and water bill is this year, but I can't budget properly until I know how much the NI increase affects my take home pay. It'll be tight. Good thing I'm not one for going on holidays.
