  • Today has been a msd, popped to get some bits for an all day event tomorrow, much cheaper than buying food there, got some bits for the week to go with whats in my cupboards for meals, £27 spent still need lunch bits for next week and dog food. Also need to pay for some tickets for dd that i forgot about i will ask if i can transfer on payday which is friday cant wait!
Tomorrow is free to go, will budget £10 for some chips and an ice cream for dd as it will be a long day...hoping oh will pay i may just leave my purse at home. Need to book a day trip for the holidays but again oh has said he would pay from his tax rebate, will do that tonight before i forget.
Need to book in ohs mot as still not done it and i am struggling to speak with energy provider due to opening hours being very tight with my working hours, i will try and send an email over the weekend!
Today has been ok considering i spent money on shopping...energy i am budgeting £2.50 for today as i have done 3 loads of washing and it has all been dried outside. Dd has had a bath i will jump in it after and top it up with a bit more warm water! Had an amazing tea, some ready meal curry that was lovely 50p per pack in my favourite shop so 2 packs did me and dd (oh didnt want any) i had naan bread and chips in stores so we had the ultimate fake away we really enjoyed it and prob cost less than £2 for the 2 of us!
    This weekends plans:
Keep energy under £1.75 per day (to help reduce from todays energy spend)
Pick up dog food and lunch stuff for next week.
    Spend £10 or less sat.
Sunday £3 at dd club only.
Take snacks and drinks out with us.
    All meals from stores.
£15 on my mini top up shop.
    General housework
Paint the decking if it is dry on Sunday.
    Change bedding.
All drying on the washing line.
Tidy car out...its the boot is full of rubbish.
    Iron all next weeks uniforms.
    Book oh mot in.
Thats all i can think of now.
Also had my clearscore today increase 111 points it has never been so high that has given me the biggest boost of all!
  • Done hardly anything on my list this weekend...it has been a nice weekend. Spent £15 yesterday my top up shop cost £45 so more than i thought but I didn't have the energy to go to a second shop, not ideal but i am shattered even had a nap this afternoon. Energy was £1.20 yesterday and £1.78 atm do quite pleased with that. Tomorrow i need petrol will just top it up wity £15 to last until payday. Got some veggie mince out of the freezer for dinner tomorrow.
    Tomorrow's plans:
    Work
    All food from stores
Book ohs mot in...this needs to be done asap.
Get petrol on way home from work.
    Need to transfer cashback money.
    Do housework
    Change beds
Iron rest of uniforms for the week

    Thats all for now.
  • Feel so good today, i have done lots from my list except do all the ironing for the week but think that was pushing it. Will iron tomorrow's clothes tho and will have a quick bath topping up dds water. Energy currently at £1.70 so feeling quite good about keeping under my £2 limit. I did have to call the Energy company i have increased my dd but mainly to chip away at my debt with them if i carry on i should hopefully reduce my debt my £500 by the end of September, thats my aim anyway!i also increased ever so slightly my cc payments, if it is a dd i dont take any notice if that makes sense. I did spend £1 on a bag of sugar today but that it except the budgeted for petrol.
    Tomorrow's plans
    Work
    All food from stores
Take ohs car for mot after work so i won't use my petrol
Dd has a club so will take drinks and snacks
    Iron the next days clothes
Nsd (hopefully as oh will pay for his mot)
I have 2 more debts to speak with so will do that when i am waiting for car to be done.
Put washing in first thing and oh will dry outside as it is forecast sunny and dry tomorrow, he is really enjoying me not using any gas and electricity because he hates wasting it and i have been terrible in the past, altho this morning i put the heating on for half an hour before dd got up then turned it off when i went to take the cold from the house.

    Thats all for now!
  • Today has been a decent day, did everything i needed well kinda i didnt get around to calling the debt collectors but had a slight emergency with a friend but hopefully being sorted now!
    Tomorrows plans:
Call at least one of the debt companies
    All food from stores
    Work
I will need to buy butter tomorrow but thats it.
Continue to read otherd diarys for inspiration
Still waiting for my final payslip for my old job and new payslip for new job just so i can budget next month.
    Iron uniforms for next day
    Put clean washing away
Keep energy under £2....2 loads of washing done today £1.45 so far for today.

Oh treated us to chip shop, had 50% voucher so it did save him money.
Got a £20 off voucher but will need to spend £40 but i can stock up on cleaning products for the month so deciding if i should use it for next month and get all the stupid bits that add up through the month i am going to need at least £25 next month so i am swinging between it for the saving to double up for 2 months....it will save in the long run!
  • I did my order i am stocked up for approx 3 months on most cleaning products £43 spent but it was worth it imo.
Payday tomorrow slightly less than i was expecting but will get by. Will transfer £257 to other account for food this month and i am going to try and not spend anymore. My freezer is full with nice meals so next week i will do a minimum spend click and collect for fresh bits hoping for £30 including dog food i wont buy anymore meals until what i have got it down by quite a bit.
Energy has been below £1.50 per day for the past 2 days so i am quite pleased with myself. Got things to do for dd most days in the holidays so will only need packed lunch stuff for then. I feel quite good planning in advance so we dont just splurge on a random day out because we havent done anything!
    Tomorrow's plans
Need to grab a sandwich on the way to work as its £1.20 and will cost more for salad bits and fresh meat just for 1 day.
    Work
Come home...the weekend has felt so far away this week! I want to enjoy it.
Call a debt company to set up an arrangement.
Have hair done (it usually lasts 2 months or so and is my only treat for myself as I never have new clothes, shoes or anything) £60

    This weekend i want to
    Clean my car
    Tidy the garden
Change beds and all washing outside to dry.
Do food shop order and  collect it.
Make a start on sorting dd old toys
Get case down from the loft with my summer clothes in and put winter ones back up there.
Give the house a good tidy particularly upstairs as it gets neglected in the week.
That is all for now i think i am sure i will add to it
  • This weekend has been a disaster money wise i actually dreading coming on and writing it all down....but putting my head in the sand hasnt helped before so won't now... .
I have paid dds trip, £70 (mil gave us a chunk towards it so we paid the rest)
Shopping spent was....£90 how i am not sure i think its my "stocking up" for the month as i used l!dl and always get the cheaper things from there so now i am at £167 for the rest of the month...not sure if thats even possible but whilst there are meals in the house then il keep eating and not buying.
Then £250 camping gear from a friend....still not sure how that one happened but realistically it is the most affordable way we can have a break this year but ouch that was a bad weekend.
I got petrol for the month...the only thing i budgeted for! Typical!
Feeling down on myself but i am going to have a sort out and see what i can sell to bring some money back in...it wont be much but will help.
I also booked a free day out in June for us so other than taking drinks we shouldn't spend anything.
    This weekends plans:
Find 10 items to sell on fleabay
Nsd everyday until Friday...might be tough but i will try.
    Work
    General housework.
All meals from stores, dd wants curry tomorrow but we dont have naan bread so its looking like its without it...saved £1.50 there ;)
    All washing dried outside
Energy under £1.75 tbh i am doing well with this one atm
Tidy car...this is a later in the week job im always tired at the start of the week
Chase up a refund for cancelled trains or even a response would do...
Blok car parking later for an event...again budgeted for but thats my last spend!
  • Feeling really good today, i felt bad yesterday...then i went upstairs and dd had sorted some things out to get rid of, put 1 thing on fleabay sold within minutes for an offer of £25 it was a decent offer they are going for around that much anyway, paid postage got a box from the recycling and took it before work this morning along with another item that i need to return...that will be a £47 refund when it comes back.
Found naan bread in the cupboard that i thought i had used...so we even had a treat with dinner, going to eat some cake left from yesterday and when dd is in bed i will post another 2 items not thinking I will get the same luck but i am going to try and get the camping money back and empty some of the stuff we have but don't use.
    Will return later!

Hi there,it’s definitely swings and roundabouts with me too, I think I’m doing ok,spend a bit unnecessarily, feel guilty then have to try and get back in control!
I ordered a handbag that I really fancied but thankfully it’s not quite right and I won’t keep anything I don’t completely love so that’s going back and I’ve decided I can easily make do with what I’ve got (for now!!), and I just sold something on vinted for £22.50,need to list more as I want to be minimalistic and debt free!!😩😊😊
  • Hello @Amber1980 i completely agree it is swings and roundabouts, thats brilliant about sending it back as you don't really love it...i think thats part of my trouble i mean i rarely order myself anything but if its for dd or the house i feel like money is burning a hole in my pocket and i always pass things on, which in my position i should be looking to see if i can sell it on to help pay things down!

As i have a few minutes free before i go to work, i wanted to add i managed to speak with my 2 remaining debters yesterday and set up payment plans so everyone has been contacted. I have changed my payment date with Zopa so it is saying i wont make a payment this payday because of how it falls, so i did a manual payment and paid my usual amount but also paid the extra few pennies off too, £60 now owing on that card.
Still waiting for payslip from new job not sure when it would go online but due to be paid this week but their hr system keeps going down!
    Todays plans:
List 2 items i didnt yesterday
    Work
    Nsd
Dd club not sure if i will take her or oh but will take drinks.
    Have a bath
Keep energy under £2, yest i went over but only because i did 2 loads of drying due to the weather total yest £2.44.
    Iron clothes for tomorrow
    All food from stores.

Right i suppose i best go to work!
  • Today was ok, i have spent online for bday presents in the sale for niece £14, some new boots for dd as the heel has fallen off her boots completely for school and a jumpsuit for me...this is rare i buy myself anything other than replacement shoes, £14 in the sale as i have nothing that actually fits me for the warm weather and looks half decent....so not cheap but all things needed.
    Tomorrow's plans:
    All food from stores.
Lsd - i now need to buy cakes for school for the jubilee celebration and they have been really funny about people not bringing them in...a child mentioned if they could not afford to bring any in (i know the family and they don't have much) and the teacher was quite nasty saying they wont get any cake so i am taking 2 boxes in one for dd and one for the child.
    Work
General housework, put washing away etc.
    Iron uniforms
Send another email about train refund to ombudsman

Thats it really not much more for me tomorrow going to have a quietish evening i think!
Right off to put some bits on fleabay!
