I didnt check in yesterday as I was so tired. Went for a drink after work, £3.80 spent on a large lemonade...not sure how its cheaper to drink alcohol??anyway grabbed a big bag of chips to go with tea as I didnt have enough and dd was at her club until late, another £4.80 spent. Today i have put washing away, took bins up to be emptied, cleaned my bedroom and the bathroom just having 10 mins and a cup of tea.
Todays plans left to do
Take dd for some shoes for funeral, and get oh some trousers.
Clean downstairs
All food from stores
Collect something i have brought for a friend £12 to spend but will get it back.
Have a relaxing bath later
Dry washing outside
Put a cheque in the bank for my dad
I have also sorted some bits out for a car boot, hopefully next week sometime to get some more pennies in, will try and keep a look out for more stuff as i am sorting.0 -
Another late night check in from me, need to get my sleeping pattern sorted asap but i have a horrible cough and its hard nodding off.
We went to get dd some shoes and oh a shirt and trousers, £32 spent in total along with an extra £6 in greggs, came home cooked tea from stores, had a relaxing bath and had a chilling night. I also got a bundle of clothes £7.60 delivered for 5 items, thats me done in Vinted for this month, but that bit of money gives me some new clothes so i dont feel stuck in the same things, i know it is justifing it but i fell so bad atm about the extra weight i have so hopefully it may make me feel better.
Friday will be the day i start eating better and trying to follow sw as best i can with what i can afford. Tomorrow i need to make a meal plan and shopping list0 -
Another quiet one here, had a relaxing day, not done meal plan or online shop yet but have quite a bit in so going to try and make it last as long as i can.
Today I have had a hsd, had to pay the rest off our half term holiday, £122 spent but its paid for now. We are staying in the UK for the week but as ours is later its been cheaper and been paying off monthly just needed the last push. That is all i have spent, done some washing and dried most of it outside too. Housework done and it is looking really nice going to pop and see my mom later as oh is at work and she is buying us a takeaway for tea, always a winner.
Not quite sure about tomorrow's plans, other than dds club in the morning. Its nice having some days around the house as tbh we never normally as were usually really busy but i need some plans for next week as I know i will get annoyed staying in so i have messaged some friends to meet up over the next few weeks to fill some days and the catch up.0 -
Its great paying off holidays monthly, I love that feeling of being paid and all up to date.
We are going abroad for the first time in 10 years in October. Its paid, passports are renewed and £500 converted into currency (the rest is going to be done via Chase). Its the most organised I've been for any foreign holiday... ever!!! Just need to finish putting aside the £600 (an eye watering amount) for the cattery boarding our 5 cats for the 2 weeks.
Its a good idea to plan meet ups with friends over the next weeks or before you know it days and weeks have flown by and not a lot of fun things have been done with the time.
Hope the cough is better, there's some awful viruses going round atm.
Have a good week.0 -
Hello @jusferbrowsing your completely right, paying holidays monthly has been a godsend, previously i have booked with all the best intentions and not paid anything, then the weel due bunged it on a cc. It feels nice that this time hasnt been as stressful.
Well this week my plans have come together nicely, busy each day with something. Taking dd to my mums holiday home, she is staying the night with her, oh is at work so i wont rush back.
Weekend has been a quiet one, today tho i want to get back to my lists so i feel more accomplished, i am aiming for a nsd so fingers crossed.
Todays plans
General housework
Take dd to mums
All food from stores
General housework
Change beds
2 lots of washing -due to weather it may need to go in the dryer.
Tidy car out
Make some burgers to freezer later as i have mince in the freezer and will help me use it.
Thats all for now to get me started at least.1 -
I am not quite sure where this week has gone but it certainly has gone quick. I have been very careful with money, i have around £80 spare atm and i am trying not to touch it as it could pay for 2 nights camping in a couple of weeks, i am holding on to that. Today i have spent £23 on foundation, concealer and some other toiletries and bits we need, my bag was so full and i am quite pleased with how much i got, just love savers. I have also got all the packing done to go away this weekend, we have £200 spending money outside of shopping money, i have done a click and collect for £67 for everything we need and should have some sundries to bring back. I will be back on Monday and do a smaller click and collect for fresh items to last the week, my budget is £30 for this so still in the £100 food budget, its a lot but how things have gone up its the only way i can atm but i am trying to get it closer to £80 but it is harder each week and to eat lots of fruit as dd loves it.
I am looking forward to our weekend away and i am keeping very positive about how much we will spend, lots of entertainment included in this break and by the beach so i am hoping to come in at £150 if not less but drinks will be expensive so will try and keep the costs down as we will prob only have 1-2 a night whilst watching the entertainment. This feels like for the first time i am in control with my spending, shopping shorted before i go along with a meal plan (that has never been known) a clear budget along with free alternatives for entertainment and making the most of what we have, that is my plan anyway, dd is really excited and so i am i. Oh is at work atm so cant really comment on him but he was looking forward to it earlier...right will report back Monday/Tuesday! Heres to a good weekend in budget!

Have a lovely weekend away1

Thank you @jusferbrowsing we had a lovely weekend.
We used lots of the facilities but as expected in the holidays, it was really busy but we had fun and went swimming and went on the beach. We did some shopping, £9 spent in charity shops got some bits for the kitchen, was very happy with my purchases. Budget wise including the cs shopping trip we spent £73 all weekend, excluding shopping as that came from food budget. We were beyond shocked as we didn't feel like we missed out on anything and dd spent some of her money at the arcades. This weekend goes to show that you really dont have to spend lots of money to have a good time. We got a maccies for tea, oh paid so still under our budget for the weekend. I have done a click and collect and its cost slightly more at £38 so I am currently at £105 for this week but with being away its not that bad as usually when were away we spend heaps more on food...then defeat the object by eating out.
I have done 3 loads of washing had to put the last load in the dryer but energy still under £4 for the day.
Plans for tomorrow:
General Housework
Pop and see a friend
Put washing away
Collect food shop
All food from stores
Take dd to club
Get petrol -£20 to spend
Make a start on deep cleaning the house, going to start with bathroom tiles tomorrow0 -
Todays not been the most successful day i ever had. Popped into work, saw a friend, collected and out away food shop and thats about it, spent £8 on 2 meal deals earlier with dd as we were out and both really hungry, not usually like me as I can wait but really didn't feel 100% then got petrol as budgeted, £20 i also dipped into my reserve fund for camping and brought dd 5 school skirts bmwt from vinted and 5 long sleeve shirts, total spend £35 but did get some other bits in that as it worked out cheaper with discounts the sellers were giving with multiple purchases, for instance the 2 packs of shirts would be £15 but for £14.95 + postage got 5 shirts, a dress and a top so quite happy with that. It has saved me a small fortune as the shirts cost £15 for 2 as from m+s i am no snob but they are the only ones i have tried that stay white if i couldnt have got them from there i would have gone to the supermarket for them as cheaper. So i am feeling guilty for this but its her uniform and that's more important, i have also sorted some things out for oh, drove me mad and he didn't appreciate all the running about i was doing sorting his things so its now down to him, hes an adult and it won't harm him, thats my moan done.
So i am feeling bad about my impromptu spending altho i have found some new uniform of dds i will put on there to recoup some of the money to put back into camping money.
Tomorrow as the weather is forecast nice, I am planning on focusing in the garden as it is wild atm. I want to wash off the decking and start painting it, oh is sure we have enough paint i hope so because i ain't buying anymore, thats where most of my plans lie tomorrow, will do a general clean as usual and all food from stores but i want to focus on outside, i also think we may have a little metal paint i might give the table a once over to hide some rust. I cant afford a new one despite it being on its last legs so i am going to try and see how i can revive it a little and maybe look at how i can make some cushions to change it completely but thats a task for another day, just ideas atm.
For tonight i plan on having a nice soak in the bath, some easy tea not sure yet maybe pasta and sauce as dd had an early tea and oh has taken to her club then relax for a while.0 -
You sound like you had a wonderful and very MSE holiday and proved making happy memories doesn't have to cost a packet.
I'll have to check out Vinted. Folk here on the forum and a colleague from work all say its great but I'm a creature of habit and a confirmed ebayhound though I've found pickings are slimmer and more expensive once postage is applied.
Hope you managed to eke out the paint for your decking. Decking preservation is one of my pet hates. Mine was sagging when we bought the house 6 years ago but has been waaaaay down on the 'to replace' list but it has a couple of soft spots now as well as an interesting wave formation so next year it will be replaced with possibly composite so hopefully no yearly scrubbing or treating.
I've been away from home due to illness and hospital admittance of my dad so DH has been left to fend for himself and he's proved he can do things quite well if left to his own devices. I popped back for an overnight stay and though our standards might differ he had successfully kept a lid on the household chores. It was a point taken for me, let him make his mistakes and learn from it but my (and yours) OH can fend for himself and that relieves a ton of pressure from your own shoulders.
...and as for pasta... that's my go to when I'm pooped and getting a takeaway is a major temptation. Gussied up with some olives, tomatoes and a bit of salad it makes for an enjoyable meal.
Have a good rest of week, keep on ticking off your list0
