  • A much more relaxed day today compared to the last week, i have done my list along with scrubbing the kitchen floor before steam cleaning it, it looks so much better, had a relax when dd was out with oh, then cooked tea when they came back about to have a nice bath and relax.

Feeling much better today by having some time to myself. Dd has been arranging a day out with her friends so will need some money...its never ending. Although i did have 2 items i brought from vinted, one wasnt sent and another got lost so i do have £11 coming back this week, it will make a difference. Feel bad about money but feel worse thinking about payday as it means i am nearly back at work, would rather be skint and off than slightly less skint and at work....at least whilst im off im saving petrol, i have only used 15 miles since putting it in last week got 97 miles left so should be fine for this week.

    Tomorrow's plans:
    General housework
Lsd-need to get oh a birthday card
Use £10 worth of nectar point to get oh a little something for his birthday, unfortunately weve never been in a position to go mad at birthdays so whilst being creative he will still get something. I am hoping to be nearly debt free next year so will do something nice for him.
    All food from stores
Make some plans for some of the days next week when we dont have anything on, will be mse days with little or no spends.
Sort one clothes drawer out tomorrow and get rid of old clothes that no longer fit.
Empty main wardrobe of clothes i wont wear again to make some room to hang up clothes i actually wear.
Film evening with dd and oh.
I am sure i will add more to it tomorrow as i go along

Time to have a nice soak.

  • A lovely and more chilled day today, managed to complete my list, i spent £19 in cash in that spent £9 on some new underwear for dd, £2.50 on cards for ohs birthday and i got oh a bottle of a cocktail he likes, some caster sugar, reduced scones and a reduced birthday cake that should have been £8 but it was amazing and oh loved it. I will make oh another cake again tomorrow evening for when he gets back from work. Dd has made him some cookies for his birthday too, he is over the moon, it really is the thought rather than just spending lots of money we don't have for the sake of it.

I did have some extra mash potato left from dinner so i made some cheese and potato pie and its cooled and down the fridge ready for dinner tomorrow for me or dd, depending if dd wants it or jacket potatoes.

I sorted some bits out for the cs will try and find some more bits tomorrow and take the bag in the week.

    Tomorrow's plans
    Do some work work
    General housework
    Put washing away
    All food from stores
    Sort more items for cs
    Bake a cake for oh
    Nsd
Do some surveys not done them for a while but did some last night and earned £8 will try and keep motivation

Thats all for now but will try and add some more tomorrow.
  • Cheese and potato pie sounds yum. I've had a bit of a crash energy-wise today so not done much extra to the norm yet. The weather doesn't help as I look at the garden and despair at getting what I want cut before 'green bin day'. I may don some festival wear and face the soak tomorrow.

My DH did really well with surveys a while back though I got disheartened at getting screened out almost every time (he said I was being too honest lol) but there is money to be made for sure.

Sounds like your OH had a great birthday, well done to your dd for the cookie baking, I think presents that show personal effort are lovely.

Have a good day tomorrow and hopefully I will have a few list items ticked off myself too.

  • We ended up going to my moms and she fed me and dd whilst oh was at work, she cheese and potato pie for tomorrow. It one of my go to meals, easy, cheap and so enjoyable. @jusferbrowsing don't worry about having an energy crash, we all need days when we just stop or slow down, otherwise you will make yourself ill. And the weather is meant to change tomorrow and be nice for a few days, or at least it is here in the Midlands.
I am trying with surveys but it is a bit tedious but when i have a spare half an hour it passes the time.
OH has had a good birthday ans had enjoyed the home made gifts, they truely are more thoughtful.

I have managed to complete my list for today along with visiting my mum especially after a slow start this morning.

    Tomorrow's plans
    General housework
    Washing and dry outside
Dd going out with a friend £15 to give to her so lsd.
Prep lunches for day out on Wednesday
Take dd to club, take drinks with us
Take a cheque to the bank and find said cheque
Take car to car wash for free car wash
    All food from stores
Sort some cake to take on day out if not bake a smaller one as have lots in to make another cake as another home made snack
    Do some surveys

Thats all for now and will see what tomorrow brings.
  • Hope you had a productive day and found the cheque you wanted to take to the bank (if you can try your bank's cheque paying in app soooo useful for paying in cheques I'd misplace for weeks in the past).

Well I tackled the garden so feeling achy but satisfied as the green bin is full and our tent is up ready to be wiped down and reproofed for next year's festival.

On a non MSE note I jibbed at cooking and we ordered a Chinese which has just arrived
  • Oh @jusferbrowsing a chinese sounds amazing, i am so jealous. We currently are down to the last few pounds until ohs payday on Friday but i think i may have a chinese next week when i get paid.

Moneywise not great, i did cash out £10 from a survey site and ordered dd some new underwear, nearly upto another £5 cash out its hard when they are mastercard but i have been thinking, if I could do £25 a month it could pay towards a weekend away next year i will look at options to book on payday as some have £25 deposit. I know it sounds bad when i am in debt but need something to use it for to give me the motivation to keep doing them.

Done todays plans, i didnt make cakes we have scones from the freezer defrosted and with some jam ready for the day out tomorrow. Tickets sorted from the lottery days last week and we have petrol and a packed lunch it will be a nsd as we dont have any money but wont stop us having a good day, weve done it before we will do it again.

The elusive cheque has gone i have looked everywhere and cant find it, it was £30 too i can't use the app for this cheque as it doesn't read it thats why i havent put it in sooner...really disappointed.

Tomorrow's plans involve the day out and pizza from the freezer when we return thats all the plans for tomorrow, heres hoping for a sunny and nice day.
  • Oh how annoying about the cheque @Getridofdebt66 and the 'safe place' its in.

Our Chinese wasn't too extravagant and DH is taking the leftovers with him tomorrow for lunch so maybe a little MSE after all.

You have chosen a great day for a day out as the weather is looking nice for most of the UK. You seem to be well organised for a MSE day away. Have an absolutely fantastic time.

@Getridofdebt66 Well you couldn't have planned for a better day than today weather-wise for your day out. I'm sure you had a fabulous day.

I made the best of the weather myself by washing and reproofing the tent. It took best part of 5 hours as its the first time we have proofed it in the 15 years we've had it. Admission, I did look for a replacement but that style is not made anymore and it works really well for us with plenty of storage space considering its a small size with a put up time of less than ten mins. So now its done and tomorrow afternoon I'll run some seam sealer over the joins, overkill maybe but I may as well do a 5 star job.

I'm meeting a friend for coffee at her house mid morning which will be lovely as I've not seen her for a couple of months and it will be nice to have a big catch up.

Jobs for tomorrow are hoover round and load washer before I set off, seal seams of tent, sort a bag of clothing for charity. Take a look in the freezer and decide if it's due a clear out and reorganisation.

Have a great day tomorrow, I think we have one more day of warm weather before it rains again.
  • Morning @jusferbrowsing

We definitely picked the best day of the year, (tbf that never happens and were usually walking around in the pouring rain) yesterday was lovely, the weather was great and we had a wonderful day, dd loved it but she was so tired last night i haven't seen her that tired for years. It was a very mse day even without trying but i think that was due to the preparation done, we spent £8.90 on 3 ice creams and £10.70 on a meal deal for dd on the way home as she was hungry and some cold drinks for the way home. Luckily we had £20 left to take in ohs bank after direct debits had come out. Tbh we didnt feel like we had no money if that makes sense, previously we have got the credit cards out through pure guilt but not this time.

You certainly had a productive day and well done for you with your tent i would have no idea but i am sure you saved a pretty penny esp as you couldn't find another one that would have been as good. Our tent is only a year old but when the time comes i will be looking into that.

Up early today and whilst feeling tender and my feet are still aching i feel good having done lots of walking. Going to have a relax for an hour before i make a start as lots to do today and want to get the washing done to make the most of the last weather.

    Todays plans
    Drs appointment this morning
    Washing and dry outside
    Put all clean washing away
    General housework
    All food from stores
£20 voucher received need to buy 2 presents for neices so will buy and deliver later
Collect parcel for dd from earlier in the week
Sort bag out for cs and take to cs
Clean front door as its dirty from the dogs and driving me mad but i keep forgetting to put it on the list to remind me.
    Do some surveys
Book tomorrow out from tickets i won
Arrange a day out with tickets from a free return for next week
Write a list of what dd needs to go back to school with

Think thats enough to ease myself into the day after yesterday.
  • Hi if the cheque turns up, post it to your bank, that's what I do. Yes, it costs a stamp, but no time (well a walk to the post box) and no fuel. V x
