  • Thank you, i honestly didnt know you could just post it in, would help massively due to the shorter opening hours, i think they don't realise a lot of people work 9-5!

Today has been really good, managed to do almost all my list except taking things to cs and write the list for what dd needs to go back to school with, will rollover until tomorrow. Spent £20.45 on 2 presents, oh paid tho so nsd for me! Was lovely visiting my sister for a few hours then came back and enjoyed a bit of sun in the garden but it did get too much, managed to do a few more surveys and also opened a monzo account, will get £5 back after first purchase. I want to start getting pots made, they will be small amounts until my debts are cleared but just a bit of something. I would like £20 a month into a present pot for birthdays and celebrations mainly for other people not oh and dd, i would also like £10 a month for a household pot and another £10 a month for car bits, once debts are paid off i will increase to help pay for yearly insurance, just a little start to get me into making my pots. I also want a separate one for one of the survey sites that pays out cash so i can transfer straight to there to let it build up.

    Tomorrow's plans
Set up monzo pots along with standing order ready for payday
    General housework
    Change beds
Wash bedding - dry outside if its dry
Take dd out, find free parking nearby - free tickets used.
    All food from stores
    Meal plan including sw meals
    Do online food shop
    Take bag to cs
Make shopping list for dd returning to school
    Make weekend plans
    Do some surveys
Set up paypal for cash back site and link with monzo account
    Nsd

Think thats enough to start with....
  • My MIL has pots for EVERYTHING which has become a standing family joke but tbf she knows to the penny where she is financially at any point in time and always has the cash planned to pay for it so you can't knock her system.

Your list sounds very achievable though I'm not sure what is going to happen with the weather for drying (I have a love/hate relationship with my tumble dryer this time of year).

I didn't get to reseal the seams on the tent as it needed a cure time of 6 hours and by the time I got back from my friends it was after 3pm (thanks a lot M6 :rage: ) so that's a job for Saturday/Sunday.

I have a bag of clothes for charity and a bit more room in our set of drawers and that's about it for extras today. It was a bit of a 'me' day today. Tomorrow might see me venture into the 'room of doom', wish me luck :open_mouth:
  • Yeah... well I opened the door of the room of doom and quietly closed it again. There's a lot of stuff for the loft and that's a 2 person job so it can wait for the weekend. I checked on the tent and it's looking great with zero water ingress (still going to do the seams though).

I need to tackle the weeds in the block paving too this weekend. 2023 is definitely the year the garden got away from me. We should fit in some time out of the house too as its a rare weekend of no gigs and no weekend working.

Hope you had a good day today and have something fun planned for the weekend.
  • The room of doom....i love it, i also have one in the spare room, think that needs working on with a team from a channel 5 programme as ours is that bad. It doesnt even come into my head to sort it, the last time it had a proper clear our took 8 hours during covid time, i seriously dont think i have that level of determination again to clear it just yet. But well done for at least looking through the door.

Todays gone semi well, i have a mental list for dd and i didnt get to the cs, took dd out and came back so tired, i am carrying too much weight to run around so today has been my final splurge day and tomorrow sw will start with how i was feeling today and not wanting to feel like that again as my determination to lose some weight. I wont be joining a group just yet as i cannot afford it but will be weighing myself tomorrow and going to start weekly noting it down on here to keep myself accountable.

Currently watching a place in the sun, i love this programme as it makes me want to own somewhere abroad one day esp for my retirement which is a long way off but i have time to get my debts gone and at least try and hope for one day. I can dream.

Today i have had a nsd, oh paid for parking when we were out. Came back and had a relaxing afternoon and evening, its been nice. Only got bedding washed and dried will put away tomorrow.

I am not 100% sure on tomorrow's plans i did want to get dds school shoes but not got a lot on next week so think it would be better in the week as hopefully a bit quieter so i am going to do a rough idea.

    Tomorrow's plans
    General housework
    Collect food shop
    Wash and dry clothes
    Put washing away
All food from stores and following sw
    Weigh myself in the morning
    Take bag to cs
    Polish all through the house
    Take dd to sleepover
Set up paypal rolled over from today
    Do some surveys
Lsd - i forgot one item on shopping list- light cheesespread

  • Your mentioning weighing yourself reminded me its six weeks until we go away for our first holiday abroad where swimwear will be required so I really should try to lose a couple of kilos. Maybe we can cheer each other on a bit too.

My plan is to reduce carbs (bread, potatoes, pasta) and eat more chicken salad/stirfry/grains whilst eating plenty of strawberries, kiwis and blueberries to curb sugar pangs. I'm hoping along with more running, cycling and step I will be a bit trimmer and will have more choice in what clothes to take.

As far as living abroad, anything is possible given enough time and determination. Once you get your finances settled you should look at how you could achieve your own place in the sun and make a plan. Time flies and before you know it retirement will be on the horizon. A Uni friend bought a place in France about 5 years ago and is now living the dream.

Ok I'm off to start my chores, have a great day @Getridofdebt66
  • Evening @jusferbrowsing
Lucky you going abroad, i am jealous but hoping you have an amazing time! Yes lets cheer each other on, gutted about not being able to weigh myself as i have lost the scales, will keep looking but i will measure myself tomorrow and work off inches lost anyway...hopefully some will be lost.

Your way sounds really good and healthy unfortunately i dont have will power thats why i am sticking with sw, it is something i can do as i know exactly what im doing as ive done it before. We go away in 8ish weeks (uk holiday) but id like to feel a bit more comfortable in my own skin, very aware atm of having my picture taken and dont want to feel like that. Ideally would like to lose half a stone if not a stone by then but even just making better food choices will help with how i am feeling

The living abroad is a dream, more of id love a holiday home abroad one day, my goals are....become debt free, buy my home then once its paid off, save up and buy somewhere abroad so definitely a retirement plan but somewhere we could just go for as long as we want, it maybe a dream atm but i want to have something that i can really work towards once debt free, i always need to be motivating myself for the next thing, oh says i am an idealist but i love that i can hope and work towards something, it may never happen but whilst i can dream it is possible.

Today has been good, did spend more than anticipated at £13.70 in home of the bargains, i got a bag full of toiletries that i had forgotten in the shopping and some bits for dd to take to her sleepover. I have transferred £7.31 from surveys and it is in my monzo pot labelled surveys, it is going to be a misc pot but not for wasting. I have done some surveys will do a few more shortly just gets a bit monotonous after a bit esp when getting kicked out.

Dietwise i have eaten from stores, done really well so far, was hungry earlier and i ate an apple...my body wanted biscuits but my head chose an apple.

I plan a nice relaxing night tonight as dd is out and oh at work going to jump in the bath then a few back to back films. I have cleaned all through the house and just hoovered for the second time today so its all looking lovely ready to relax. Unfortunately the dryer has had to go on for 40 mins due to no pegs left, have done 3 loads today and other than the bit above its all dried outside, one load still on the line the other 2 loads already put away.

    Tomorrow's plans
    Petrol -£20 to spend
    Collect dd in morning
Watch world cup - come on England!
    All food from stores
    General housework
    Book hair dressers appointment
    Do surveys
Eat healthy and in line with sw
Encourage oh to put up new blind...it was brought about 4 months ago and i cant use the drill so have to wait
Tidy out messy cupboard, anything not used from last time i sorted it out is either in the bin or going to the cs, cant keep keeping the clutter.
Sort old coats to send to cs
Make some plans for the week

Nice easy Sunday to start the week off or end the weekend!

    Evening @Getridofdebt66
The holiday is waaaaay overdue as 2007 was the last time either of us went abroad and though we booked something in 2019 it was cancelled as everything else was in 2020!!! We are going with friends who have been there before so we are pretty well guaranteed a good time, it was a bargain too.

I think its a good idea to stick with what you know when trying to lose an inch or two. SW works for you and you know how to 'drive' it. I did the low carb thing a couple of years ago and it worked a treat. A week in and I was not remotely tempted by chocolate (my downfall) or sweet stuff but I do allow myself tons of green veg and keto fruit and a small apple if I'm really needing a sugar hit.

Moving more is my main plan and once I get into the rhythm of it I hope to do something that elevates my heart rate for at least 30 mins each day.

I seam sealed the tent but ran out so had to order two more 30g tubes and nothing much more will happen to it for a couple of days. I'm fed up of looking at it now

I'm off to look for somewhere nice we can take a walk round tomorrow. We should also put some things in the loft too and I have some chicken portions that need cooking for meals through the week.

Have a great day tomorrow
  • Oh wow @jusferbrowsing 2007 is definitely overdue! I am sure after the wait and rejigging after covid it will be worth the wait even better that it was a bargain.

Hope putting things in the loft was ok, its been really warm here can only imagine how hot the loft is.

Today has been 99% successful i have done all my jobs, oh has not put the blind up thats the only outstanding job....and hes put it away somewhere, i may never see that blind again. I did sort the messy cupboard out, found something of my mums i have been looking for for months and gave up thinking i had lost it so happy days, i am also £2.71 up as misc cash found in the bottom of old bags. Had a good sw day 4 syns has in my drinks (sugar in my tea) have got a brownie to top it off later that dd made yesterday. Managed to get 2 loads of winter coats washed and dried a bag for cs and 4 bags of rubbish or tat. I had landfilling things but it is absolute rubbish.

    Tomorrow's plans
Take dd to buy school shoes, hsd along with school tights and a bag, the rest will be brought when i get paid
    General housework
Sw meals and all food from stores
    Washing and dry outside
    Do surveys

Not many plans for tomorrow as of yet, which is a nice change, still need to put some washing away shortly then get in my pjs and relax.
  • Sounds a successful day @Getridofdebt66 and its always a win with any found coins. I have a decorated mason jar given as a present years ago and had no idea what to use it for until I realised we were leaving random coins about the house, now they have a home.

Have a good day today. My plans went awry and I'm off to my folks again. Keep going with the lists, savings and SW I'll be cheering you on even if I go quiet here for a while x
  • Hope your parents are ok @jusferbrowsing take care and sending lots of love.
