Its been an expensive week. On Thursday morning I was just in the middle of a survey and the computer died. No pop or bang just nothing except silence from the fan. Apparently the power supply went taking out the hard drive etc. As we use it a lot we visited the computer shop that we have used for many years and they have built a new one to mr LHs spec. We collected it yesterday and mr LH spent until about 5am this morning reloading everything. That was £450 that we wont see again. Coming on top of the rust proofing of the car at the end of the month the bank is looking very sad. I have actually used the credit card to pay for the computer but will pay it off when the bill comes. I couldnt get into internet banking to transfer money so this was a better option than paying overdraft fees until I could get on line.

Did the bil visit on Wednesday arriving half an hour late as I literally stepped out of the lift on the platform and the train left the station, the next one was cancelled so ended up on a very slow stopping train. On the way back the first train arrived more or less on time so changed platforms for the next one only for the platform to be changed at the last minute to the one I had just left. Got onto the platform and asked one of the 3 railway chaps standing next to the train if it was the right one. It was but he told me to hurry up and flustered me so in trying to hurry I ended up going underneath what was like a waterfall coming off the station roof and then falling as I got on the train, I wasn't hurt but was soaked through. What annoyed me the 3 railway staff next to the train didnt even check I was OK and it was a passenger that helped me up and moved my case for me. Still I got home on time and by that time I had dried out.

Today I have cleaned out Bears paddling pool as he isnt using it and there was algae in it and also planted some cyclamen that my bil gave me when I was down there. he assures me they will grow but at the moment dont look very promising. We weill see next year. I have also done a bit of ebay listing which is the first I have done for some time as my mojo disappeared. Still a bit to do but will finish it tomorrow.

The weather has been changeable to say the least, one minute warm sunshine and the next absolutely pouring down but I have managed to avoid getting wet. I think that should have bored you enough so have a quiet night.

    Ouch to the expensive week.

Sorry you had a tough day visiting BIL.  Shameful that the staff didn't help when you fell.

Cyclamen spreads like anything in our garden, so hope yours survives.

What a stressful train journey 😞 I find it really difficult to know whether I’m on the right train whenever I use them, no one else seems to know, even if they’re getting on that particular train and there never seem to be any staff around to ask, so frustrating.

Oh dear @ladyholly what a rotten couple of days you've had!
I can't face going anywhere by train on my own, for the very reasons you mention - changing platforms back and fore and staff who don't know what they're supposed to be doing and are most unhelpful.  I'm astonished they didn't help you when you fell, lucky that a kind passenger came to your aid - a fall can't half shake you up  :/

Like @jwil I find cyclamens do very well in our garden, although they don't look very promising when not in their flowering season.  I'm sure yours will do fine - mine like a shady spot if possible xx

Buying books is never naughty!  They bring hours of pleasure.  I've read a couple of Clive Cussler and enjoyed them.

All seems to be going well with Bear (we all have grumpy uncooperative days).
