Thank you SA. I will try him with that. He is not keen on dumplings (what a surprise) but adding some cheese might make a difference. We didnt get to the garden centre today as it was raining most of the day and DH didnt want to stand out in the rain getting the old tube out of the filter which is apparently a fiddly job. I dont do the pond at all unless it is a big clean out when I sort out plants and have fun with a combination of the pressure washer and the pond vac. We still have some fish food so they wont starve.Watered my seeds in the mini greenhouse, nothing coming through yet but it i bit soon. The spring onons I planted a while ago are beginning to come through but they are outside so will be a while yet.Got soaked taking the dogs out after lunch but not as wet as DH who took the collie on a longr walk as he needs that. The girls went out on the grass in front of the house and had a good sniff around, staffieX played ball for a few minutes but our poorly Jack was quite happy just wandering. She would not be happy if we didnt take her out and as she is on diuretics she needs to go out regularly. Her breathing ha been quite noisy this evening and you can feel it rattling in her chest. We just love her for now and wait for the day when she is no longer having a good quality of life. (The vet reckoned a year to eighteen months). I just hope she makes it past Christmas.Nothing else to report today. I hope everyone had a good day.2

ot much to say over the last couple days. The car blind was delivered wrapped in lots of bubble wrap which will be very useful for wrapping ebay sales. My last lot came from a post on social media. DH fitted the blind today without too much swearing. My chard is sprouting but nothing else has appeared yet.Still havent got to the garden centre for fish food but will have to go early next week or they will be starving. No ebay sales but I live in hope. I have done some listing for Sunday start and thats about it for now.1

It's lovely in the spring when seeds start to germinate, especially when you know they will produce food for you.
your Jack sounds like a girl with lots of character. My parents had a Jack and she was naughty but very endearing and very affectionate. She definitely had my dad completely devoted to her.0 -
Jacks nearly always have huge amounts of character. They are big dogs in a small body. Ours is actually a X, we think with a dachshund by her shape and colour but in character she is all Jack. We see less of the feistiness these days as she is old and her health is not brilliant but she still has her moments.Ebay sales come to about £15.00 this week so that will go to the loan. The normal monthly payment come out of the bank tomorow and with the extra payments I have made ove the last few weeks it will take it down to 13months to go.Gas and electric statement arrived today and we have used £18 less than in January. We are still in debit but only by £60 which isnt too bad for this time of year. No heating on for the last couple of nights. DH feels the cold badly and despite thermals and thick jumpers he still gets cold so he is doing well.2

I have a Jack, or should I say a Jill 😆 They are real characters that’s for sure 🤣 Mine is so loving she just wants to cuddle all the time. She was my rock when Mr SA was in hospital for 9 months, she was my reason to keep going.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Our Jack spends quite a lot of time on my knee with a blanket covering her up entirely. Dogs do know when you need extra support. When I last had flu she spent the whole time I was in bed with me only leaving me for walks etc. She origanally belonged to a friend of mine only coming to us when she was a year old and she alerted my friend to her breast cancer before she had even found a lump. This was the reason she came to us in the first place for a few weeks while she had treatment. Unfortunately it took longer than expected so ended up staying. On money news an extra payment of £40 to the loan account so the total is under £2000 now. Did an Al** shop today and got a couple of things in Sains****. Was shocked to see the dog food is now £27.50 there. Checked MrT tonight and its £24.00 there which is an increase but not as much. I dont need it this week but I think I will get some anyway.I have a solitary courgette seedling growing and a couple of cucumbers. Not sure whats happened to the rest but I will give them a bit longer. The Chard is growing well. Never tried it so will be an interesting experiment when its big enough.1

Good morning allWe did our planned shop yesterday including the large bag of dog food. When we got home I put the dog food in the conservatory and forgot to put it away. Later on I could hear rustling and called to dh if he was looking for something not realsing he was at the other end of the room I was in . Yep you've guessed our staffie X was trying to get in the bag. She had managed to get a small hole in the thick plastic but I dont think she had got any out. That spurred me into action to put it away.Cut the grass so that looks a bit better now and did a bit of weeding. We (DH) decided we werent going to the garden centre as it would mean leaving dogs for a long time as Mr T is in the opposite direction so I think we are going today at last and apparently we are cleaning the pond out tomorrow (Thursday). Not sure that will happen but we will see. We do lead an exciting life!!3

Hooray we got to the garden centre yesterday although I wish we hadnt bothered. They are in the middle of major renovations and we had trouble finding where the aquatic bit was. Eventually found it but they hadnt got our usual food so had to get something different. They did however have the tube for the pond filter. £38 spent. Well a bit more really as we got a couple of large size squeaky balls for our Collie. I should have put my hidden disability lanyard on as by the time we had walked round 3 times looking for stuff and the way out I was shattered and breathing like a steam train.Today I bought an apple tree from a discount store - not sure if it will grow but my neighbour got one the other day so we will see. It is in a tub so will have to be pruned to keep it small. The 3 cucumber and 3courgette seedlings are doing quite well and are growing nicely in the greenhouse. The tomatoes however havent done a thing but they were last years seed. so I have bought some more and will plant some tomorrow. Will also plant some more lettuce. I did some a bout a monthe ago and they are almost ready so time to plant some more. We are apparently sorting the pond tomorrow which will be noisy as we use the pond vac and possibly the pressure washer. The pond is the main reason we dont have a water meter as it needs regular cleaning and this uses a lot of water.Money saving wise DH had homemade burgers and chips for dinner this evening and I had salad so I didnt have to cook anything else. I dont particularly like the burgers. I used the water from cooking peas to make gravy, DH has gravy with almost everything. I havent washed up all day so half a bowl of water did the days washing up.4

Well done on the spring onions, @ladyholly. Mine haven't deigned to put in an appearance yet, despite a kindly placed piece of bubblewrap over the top. I shall wait till they are nicely growing, then sow a 2nd trough.
